RIVERSIDE PARTY JON DASILVA @ MAMA’S Awakening presents Back To The Beats on July 24 at Mama Liz’s, Stamford with Jon DaSilva, one of the residents at the legendary Hacienda. He was regarded as ahead of his time even in the early 80s, and is one of the most influential House DJs around – catch him while you can! Support on the night comes from Rob Soulfood and Matty T. BREAKCORE IN THE BORO Amen 2 Anarchy, Peterborough’s brand new breakcore night had a successful debut last month so this time around on July 2 at Club Dissident, they’ve got an even better line-up for us all. Joining the residents is their first guest DJ, Ketamax. Ketamax hails from Reading and has been on the scene for four years, making a big impression with the BassBinge Camp. Residents playing on the night are Komplex, TDM, Urb and Funky Green – all well respected on the local scene and finally joining together to play some of the darkest electronica around. Entry £3.

COCO’S URBAN AFFAIR A new night kicks off at Coco’s on Broadway this month, which means every Friday, starting July 2, will see DJs Tee and Supa T spin urban selections from the past and present. The flyer also promises tunes from the future, but we’re not quite sure how that works – definitely one reason to check it out! It’s a 9pm start through till 3am. Get warmed up for the Riverside Festival at Quayhole Kates, Stamford on July 2 when Nokturnal presents a heavy night of drum ‘n’ bass and dubstep to get the weekend of partying started. Stooshka, Barbwire with Raz and Timeshift with Neenoo, amongst others, will be on the decks while Delight, Zadok, J.B. Jonny D and J-Wyer take control of the mic. Entry £5.

SEE THE SUNRISE IN STYLE Following the success of the Pukka Up night at Edwards, the guys behind Kre8ive Nites will be hosting a sunrise party at Bar Rock, New Road on July 3. A first for Peterborough and based on the legendary Ibiza parties, the doors open at 3am and you’ll be able to wind down until 6am. DJ Steve Andrews and Phill Lee on percussion will be playing chillout sounds on what promises to be the ultimate after party. Entry £3.

WAITING FOR THE WHITE ISLE? Prepare for the summer season in Ibiza with a night that promises to bring you all the glamour of the White Isle at Coco, Broadway on July 3. Brought to you by Diamond Life, DJs Jay Heal, Darren James, Rayan Gee and Benjamin Brown will be spinning the hottest house, funky house and electro. This night will be celebrating the launch of Diamond Life’s new website as well as their love of Balearic beats, so expect a great atmosphere. Entry £2.

THAT FRIDAY FEELING Frantic Fridayz continue on July 25 at Club Revolution, Park Road with a dance night called Aks Me Weh Me Get Me Clarks. With Milky, Double Dutch, So Bless, Likkle English, Hype Squad and Female Skankers dancing to the reggae, dancehall and urban sounds of Blackheart Sound, Love Unlimited, Lady K and Ghetto Force Int'l. GROOVERIDER @ DISSIDENT After Fabio’s massive set at Club Dissident a few months ago, 4 Cross are now bringing you his partner in crime, Grooverider, along with the Ragga Twins on July 23. One of the pioneers of the D‘n’B scene, his 12 years behind the decks have changed the face of UK electronic music. Through his show with Fabio on BBC Radio One, he’s inspired countless people to go into clubs and get on the decks. The Ragga Twins hail from Hackney and are a jungle group starring London UNITY sound system veteran MCs Deman Rockers and Flinty Badman, starting off in the early 90s rave scene and still recording and rhyming to this day.

BIG, BAD BASSLINES Dubstep returns to Club Dissident, Lincoln Road on July 9, when Crunked Up and Submerge play hosts to the Bobby Bitz album launch and the second round of the King of the Mic MC competition, featuring a battle between Mixy and The Counte. With two rooms of dubstep and hip hop, this is going to be one heavy night. Entry £4.

THINK GLOBALLY, DANCE LOCALLY Try something different and get into the summer vibe with the new Afro Latin night on July 24 at Club Dissident. Featuring DJ KO playing Afro beats, ragga, R‘n’B, kizomba (sensual, African rhythms from Angola) and funana (upbeat, accordion based dance music from Cape Verde) alongside DJ Cubana playing funky house, soca (like calypso, but with a better beat), Reggaeton (reggae with heavy Latin influences) and Afro Latin beats. There aren’t many nights playing this kind of music so it’s definitely worth checking out.

DEEP DOWN AND DIRTY DUB Stamford will get shaken on July 16 thanks to the Dub Presents night at Mama Liz’s Voodoo Lounge. The bass will be turned up to max and sounds played will include reggae, dub, D‘n’B and dub step. Entry £3. There’s more D‘n’B on July 30 including a live act – details had yet to be released at time of going to print. Entry £3.

TIM WESTWOOD @ CENTRAL BBC Radio One’s Tim Westwood will be gracing the decks at Central nightclub in Stamford on August 7. He’ll be playing out all the hottest tracks and we’re assured this is not a night to be missed! Later this month on July 29 Central’s also hosting Mr Get Your Rocks Wet – the name says it all! Cash prizes are to be won so lads make sure you’re there toned and ready! Girls also have the chance to take part in the saucy Miss Wet T-shirt 2010 on August 5 and 12.
