BRANCH OVERVIEW
ESO Surveyors provides specialist surveying solutions to the Australian construction industry. We deliver our services with highly qualified and experienced surveyors, using the latest technology available.
Starting in Sydney over 35 years ago, ESO Surveyors now has offices in Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide, and Perth, employing over 150 staff.
Our Victoria branch commenced in October 2010 in Melbourne and has been involved in many of the local signature infrastructure and building projects over the years. We help deliver projects in Melbourne as well as in regional Victoria with our main office in Wheelers Hill.
Our Victoria branch offers the full range of construction survey services, Reality Capture and automated Monitoring systems. Our branch also supports our on-site staff with a national team of specialists in surveying, Reality Capture, data processing, CAD drafting, I.T., Human Resources and Quality and Safety Systems.

STATE MANAGERMARCUS JENNINGS-SYKES
Long-time leader in the surveying industry, Marcus has been the Victorian State Manager at ESO Surveyors since October 2010. With over two decades of experience in construction surveying, Marcus brings a deep understanding of both the technical and management aspects of the industry. He oversees a highly skilled team of surveyors, delivering services to some of Victoria’s most significant infrastructure projects.
Marcus has played a pivotal role in the successful delivery of major projects such as the West Gate Tunnel Project, EJ Whitten Bridge Widening, North East Link Centre Package, Warrnambool, Shepparton, and Gippsland Line Upgrades, and many others. Under his leadership, ESO Surveyors Victoria has provided surveying solutions that include Laser Scanning, Drone Surveys, feature surveys, and movement/ vibration/ noise and dust Monitoring systems.
With access to cutting-edge technology, including Riegl and Z&F Scanners, Leica Total Stations, DJI Drones, and the SiteVision Augmented Reality System, Marcus ensures his team provides accurate and efficient results. Some of the key highlights of his recent work include 15 km of scanning and feature work for the Craigieburn Road Upgrade and ongoing drone flights across multiple MRPA projects in Melbourne.

ESO Surveyors can provide complete survey management and resourcing of your project or supplement your existing surveying resources.
Road Construction
Initial data capture to assist design through to final as-built reports and everything in between, ESO Surveyors is an industry leader and has been involved in many iconic road projects. Using the 12D Field/12D Model system with remote model synching ensures maximum production from our field crews.
Bridge Construction
Incrementally launched or pre-cast concrete/steel construction, ESO Surveyors understands the dual necessities of high accuracy survey with quality control of the modelling process. We have a number of bridge specialists within our staff.
Rail Construction
High pressure short-term urban rail shutdowns or kilometres of regional rail construction, ESO Surveyors has completed all types of projects. We can deliver corridor scanning and kinetic envelope analysis as well as enhanced construction survey with our Amberg GRP100 Rail Trolley systems.
Building Construction
ESO Surveyors has successfully completed residential and commercial buildings, high-rise and low-rise, stadiums, entertainment venues, defence projects and more. Where we are not working on site full-time our State Mangers are experienced in organising consistent survey teams to service your site when you need it. We also provide Registered/Licensed Surveyor services for titling, easements, work-as-executed and boundary marking.
Reality Capture
ESO Surveyors provides Reality Capture as an additional service to the construction projects or directly to designers. Based on specific needs of the client, Reality Capture data can be delivered in various 3D formats. This data serves as a crucial foundation for design development and enables comparisons with other data sets for comprehensive analysis.
UAV/Drone
UAV data can be used to accurately create digital terrain models, provide volumes for end-of-month, and to obtain high-resolution imagery. ESO Surveyors has trained remote pilots in each state.
Control Networks
ESO Surveyors has successfully delivered many large survey Control Networks associated with road and rail construction projects to local authority specifications. We have utilised both GNSS and traditional measurement techniques with data adjusted in StarNet software.

RAIL/ROAD – MRPA Level Crossing Removals - Fulton
Hogan

ESO is currently contributing to the removal of 110 congested level crossings across Melbourne, a significant infrastructure upgrade set to be completed by 2030. This initiative is the largest of its kind in Victoria’s history.
Our team has successfully completed works at several key sites, including Cardinia Rd, Clyde Rd, South Gippsland Highway, Robinsons Rd, Fitzgerald Rd, Camms Rd, Brunt Rd, Calder Park Rd, and Beaconsfield.
ESO’s involvement in the project includes managing the entire survey process. ESO have provided multiple experienced construction surveyors, delivered off-site Survey Data Management services, and managed the control network using least squares adjustment closed level loop surveys.
Additionally, ESO has managed bridge structure surveys, supplied 24/7 road occupation resourcing, monitored adjoining streetscapes, and performed Laser Scanning of 20 station car parks across Melbourne.
ROAD- West Gate Tunnel Project - CPB

Completion Date: June 2023
ESO was engaged by CPB to provide survey resources for the major upgrades on the West Gate Tunnel Project, which included widening from 8 lanes to 12, constructing twin tunnels under Yarraville, and building a new bridge over the Maribyrnong River.
ESO supplied multiple experienced construction surveyors to this large-scale infrastructure project. Our services included the surveying of Australia’s widest gantry, establishing the control network using least squares adjustment closed level loop surveys, and conducting surveys for multiple bridge structures.
ESO also provided 24/7 road occupation resourcing, surveying of all paving works, and Monitoring for movement in existing structures over a four-year period for the western section which covered all aspects of the road construction works.
ROAD- North East Link Central - Spark

Completion Date: Ongoing
ESO Surveyors was engaged by Spark to provide survey resources for the North East Link Primary Package in Victoria. Key works involve tunnel wall construction at Manningham Road and Trinity Grammar Marles Playing Fields, the realignment of Bulleen Road to make way for the tunnel entrance and Yarra Link Green Bridge, and foundation walls for new on and off ramps near Oban Way in Yallambie.
ESO supplied multiple experienced construction surveyors to support this complex development, delivering services such as Monitoring of adjoining streetscapes and providing critical survey support across multiple construction zones.
Building -Home Docklands– Hacer Group

Completion Date: August 2024
The Home Docklands project is a landmark Buildto-Rent development in Melbourne’s Docklands precinct, featuring two architecturally striking towers delivering 676 premium apartments and a suite of lifestyle amenities.
ESO Surveyors supported the project with a fulltime dedicated surveyor, providing comprehensive surveying services throughout construction. Our scope included laser scan Dilapidation Surveys, structural and environmental Monitoring, early earthworks and building setout, jump form and crane tie setout, re-grids, curtain wall and window facade alignment, and detailed as-built surveys.
ESO’s precision and consistency played a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of this award-winning high-rise development.
