The business school at the Université Catholique de Lyon ESDES Ecole de management ESDES is an international business school founded in 1987. Highly reputed in France as a leading institution of higher education, ESDES has also won international recognition for the quality of its teaching and research. ESDES has achieved the highest level of accreditation by the French Ministry Education. This means that out of a total of 230 business schools in France, ESDES is one of the 89 whose degree carries the ministry’s ‘visa’ of approval. Of these only 42 are able to add the ministry’s quality label of ‘grade de master’ to the degrees they award. ESDES is also one of only 37 business schools who are members of the prestigious association of business and engineering schools known as the ‘Conférence des Grandes Ecoles’ (CGE). Not all business schools in France accept students directly after high school. ESDES belongs to a highly select group of only five business schools in the whole of France which do so, which use the ‘grade de master’ label and which are members of the CGE.
The school places great emphasis on the students’ development and it gives them access to academics who are experts in their field, whilst providing an integrative environment that is extremely conducive to learning. Throughout the five years of the “Programme Grande École”, students will be faced with academic and practical challenges to develop their knowledge and the competencies necessary for their professional live. Through our career development program, all students are assisted by ESDES’ excellent academic staff who help them construct and fulfill their professional objectives. ESDES places great importance on the acquisition of relevant professional experience throughout the curriculum and students benefit from 14 months of internships during their studies, thanks to the strong business links that ESDES has developed across a wide range of industries.
