New Years Eve is one of the happiest moments of the year. You get to spend it with the people you love the most and welcome the new year with joy and of course, with style. In this styling project I wanted to capture that happiness, that precise moment of a new beginning and the promise of shining new opportunities. Working on this project was very fun but also very demanding mostly because I was in charge of every single detail. My tasks were choosing the right suits and dresses for each model, giving my opinion on hair and makeup, choosing the props on set, and taking the pictures that capture the year’s most glamorous event.
Carolina Herrera is a well known designer of fabulous and gorgeous gowns. In this project, I researched her previous collection. I got my inspiration from visiting her store on the Upper East Side. With this newly gathered inspiration, I created a collection of my own. I came up with a collection of gowns, skirts, and blouses that would represent spring in all its features.
PROCESS WORK & FABRICS
Marc Jacobs is mostly known for creating the grunge look. Thanks to a futile attempt of promoting this look, he got fired from Perry Ellis back in the 90s. Years later, it became the signature inspiration of his celebrated collection of S/S 1993 . In my Trend Forecasting and Concept Research class, I had the chance to visit both of his labels which are Marc Jacobs and the diffusion line Marc by Marc Jacobs. I drew inspiration from his main line to create a collection of my own. In my research, I noticed how he used the rainbow color in his main collection. For my own line of clothing, I captured the vibrant colors of clowns and cupcakes and designed the brand new Sprinkle Collection 2014.
Ironically enough, finding a niche in the market for a seemingly interesting genderless label was the easy part of the project for Store Design and Development. Creating the whole brand identity and its targeted market for AKRYLK was an extremely interesting research. After having all the essentials to start the boutique, I created a mock up of how the store would eventually look like.

The hardest task for an event planner is not only the possibility of an unsuccessful event but also making sure that the client is happy with the party. In this case, I got two thumbs up mostly because the whole evening was magical and completely up to the client’s standards. It all started months prior when the client told me exactly what they had in mind for their ideal event. Although they barely had an idea of what they wanted, I suggested a brunch. I chose this theme because I noticed the growing popularity of this types of events all around the world. My tasks in the event were taking care of music, guest list, decorations, food, and managing the staff. For the specific theme of the brunch, I suggested merging two of the clients’ favorite stories together which were Alice in Wonderland and Marie Antoinette. With this idea in mind, I created an evening that my clients will never forget.
For Math and Merchandising, I created a specific product, a boutique, and corporate headquarters. I used real numbers to build the inside of the boutique and corporate offices. The most intense and arduous task was choosing what, where, and who to sell my products to. For this, I researched the area and surrounding of where I wanted my boutique. Going into depth with the project involved doing a budget report that gave exactly the amounts I needed to create my company in an economically efficient manner.

Ive always known that being a stylist or a personal shopper would be a dream come true and my ideal job. In my Fashion Entrepreneurship class, the time came when I had to build a business plan . Since the beginning, I had my mind set on building a company that assists in bettering the whole image of a specific brand or person. The basic idea of my company involved helping the client to dress, speak, walk, and dine in a way that it would help build their image as members of modern-day society.
