Football Championships 2 groups of 6 teams in Senior & Intermediate grades of Championship 2014. If a group team is formed in 2014 they will be accommodated in the Senior Football Championship Junior A Championship and Junior B & C Competitions to be formulated when number of teams participating confirmed but it is likely that there will be 3 groups in Junior ‘A’ Junior A, B & C to be played on home and away as in previous years or, in the event of both venues being unplayable, at a neutral venue In Senior and Intermediate grades, seed the previous years (2013) County Finalists, Semi-finalists, Quarter-Finalists across 2 groups Seeding to be applied to Junior A & B when formats confirmed.

Relegation: Bottom two teams in each group relegated to new S.F.C. B for 2015.


Intermediate Football Championship Structures for 2014 Two groups of 6 teams. 3 Teams to qualify from each group. First team in group 1 & group 2 qualify for S./F. 2nd team in group 1 play 3rd team in group 2 in Q./F. 2nd team in group 2 play 3rd team in group 1 in Q./F. Winners of group 1 & 2 to be seeded in S./F. draw. Extra time to be played in Q./F. if necessary

The 4 teams qualifying for the S./F. automatically promoted to new S.F.C. B in 2015. Relegation - Bottom team in group 1 plays second from bottom team in group 2 in Relegation Game 1 and second from bottom team in group 2 play bottom team in group 1 in Relegation Game 2. Loser Relegation Game 1 plays Loser Relegation Game 2 with the loser of this game relegated (In the event of a draw extra time to be played in all relegation games).

Proposed structure for 2015 2015 will have 8 teams in S.F.C., S.F.C. B & I.F.C. One group of 8 teams in each of the three grades which guarantees each team 7 games. Top 4 into S/F’s. Bottom 2 teams play relegation Final. New system would mean only one extra weekend needed as no Q/Fs to be played.

Junior Football Championship Structures for 2014 All Junior Football Championship & Competition/s to be run on league basis.

The C.C.C. to grade teams in J.F.C. ( A ,B, & C ) when entries received.


Football Leagues Commence early Feb. For 2014 Div. 1 & 2 to consist of 10 teams. Div. 3 & 4 to be formulated when entries received ( Div 5 to operate if needed.) Top 4 teams in each group qualify for Semi Finals. County players may not be available for Semi finals. Extra time to be played in League Semi Finals and finals. Bottom team will be relegated in Div. 1 & Div. 2 Winner of each League Final to be promoted. If game is not played on or before the date fixed – team to lose points and get fine. Rule 6.23 will apply to all League County players to be available for at least 4 league games prior to 1st round of Club Championship and the Final, these games will be specified in Master Fixtures Plan. Games must be played on these dates or Club will forfeit right to Co. Players. The CCC will endeavour to ensure that, where possible, club football league fixtures will not be played on the weekend of an Offaly inter-county football league fixture List all players that played at Highest Championship grade in 2013. Select 17 players from that list and they may only assist league team at highest division. List to be emailed to Co. Board. There may be only a gap of one full division between Club’s first and second team (with possible agreed exceptions).

All league fixtures in the group stages to be circulated to clubs by the 15th of February 2014. Clubs who do not pay their league fees with their league entries will not be included in 2014. All Minor teams to partake in Minor Leagues in 2014. League Competitions for 2015 to consist of groups of ten (Div 1 , 2 & 3 ) which guarantees each team 9 games (Senior, Senior B & Intermediate Championship & League combined gives each team a minimum of 16 competitive games).


U21 Championship Football – Knock-out Championship to commence in the Spring of 2014 Extra time in all games except Final. Minor Football Championship Championship as in 2013. Minor Football League Minor League based on a minimum of 13 – a – side game but games can be 15-aside by agreement of the clubs involved Two Divisions created and teams graded accordingly No limit on substitutions – interchange system to be used Minor County Players may not be available for league matches

Extra time to be played in Quarter Finals if necessary. Winners of 1st vs 4th Quarter Final games seeded for semi-final draw Relegation - Bottom team in group 1 plays second from bottom team in group 2 in Relegation Game 1 and second from bottom team in group 2 play bottom team in group 1 in Relegation Game 2. Loser Relegation Game 1 plays Loser Relegation Game 2 with the loser of this game relegated (In the event of a draw extra time to be played in all relegation games). Intermediate Hurling to follow similar format as above once the numbers are confirmed. Junior A Hurling Championship & Junior B & C Competition to be formulated when entries confirmed. Junior A & B games to be played home and away as in previous years. Teams to be seeded as per Football format. Dual Clubs may have to play Football and Hurling Championship Games in a three day period ( for example Football on Friday and Hurling on Sunday )

General Guidelines: No break for Adult Championships during the Leaving Certificate. If a club has players doing the Leaving Cert and playing adult hurling or football they must notify CCC by 1st of March 2014, stating which teams they are part of. Extra time if necessary in all Quarter Final games in Championships and Relegation games. In the case of play offs extra time must be played. CCC may play Championship games under lights if necessary. League finals to be played before Championship finals where at all possible. Adult Championship games may be played the day after Offaly Minors play in the Championship. Championship rounds to be fixed as close to inter-county fixtures as possible Fixtures Booklet to be Produced and Distributed All Q/F’s and S/F’s to be played at neutral venues from U14 through to Senior

Master Fixtures Plan to be produced for League stages of Adult and Minor Championships and issued to clubs by 15th Feb . Fixtures plan for remainder of Championships to be formulated at end of league section or when all Offaly teams exit the Championship/Qualifiers.
