What is a grid? It is a network of horizontal and vertical lines that designers use to develop structured compositions. It serves as one of the basic foundations used by designers in creating designs and compositions of layout that are rational and effective to their audience.
What is GRIDS? We are a design organization that enables creative individuals to enhance their skills and effectively present messages through applied visual communication solutions.
Why GRIDS? The organization is likened to a grid because it provides guidance and balanced opportunities to its members. Through GRIDS, aspiring designers are able to acquire, enhance, and apply essential skill sets that serve as their foundation as they grow in different fields of interest in graphic design. Through enhancement and formation, GRIDS equips its members to be competitive designers who are able to provide sustainable solutions to real world problems that can benefit the community.
Vision-Mission As a design organization, we envision GRIDS as an avenue for purpose-driven creativity. We aim to enable aspiring designers and professionals-to-be by providing opportunities for them to enhance their skills through training and practice. We are an active community that possesses an informed view of effective design and its potential to influence progress and development. United by our creativity, it is our mission to provide exceptional visual communication solutions to the Ateneo community while building an awareness on the value of design. In order to achieve this mission, we strive to establish interconnections between Information Design majors and creative individuals from the Loyola Schools. Through this collaboration, we aim to extend our knowledge and boost our understanding of design and the arts. It is our mission to equip our members with the necessary tools and information that will prepare them to be ready for the real world as Atenean designers who are also persons-for-others.

DESIGN DIRECTOR The Design Director acts as the leader of the design team of the organization. He/she is responsible for organizing the workflow of the projects among the different pools and maintains the quality of all creative outputs. He/she also coordinates with the following: •Human Resources Director for the necessary needs of the members for workshops and recreation. •Accounts Coordinator for matters regarding accounts, finances, and clients. •Administrative Director for matters regarding internal procedures, processes & systems, and external representation.
HUMAN RESOURCES DIRECTOR The Human Resources Director acts as the leader of the Human Resources Department of the organization and handles membership recruitment, training, and development. He/she closely works with the Membership Formation and Enhancement Coordinators in overseeing the preparations for all of the organization’s events and activities.
ADMINISTRATIVE DIRECTOR The Administrative Director heads the administrative team of the organization. He/she will also serve as the representative of GRIDS and handles all financial matters of the organization.
PRINT DESIGN HEAD The Print Design Head closely manages the members of the print design pool and coordinates with them in conceptualizing and executing design jobs that involve print media such as editorial design, layouting, typography, and branding. He/she also coordinates with the other design committees in terms of commissioning required graphics in order to create cohesive output for different projects. In order to be able to communicate with the clients, the Print Design Head coordinates with the Accounts Coordinator for different accounts that require print design. It is also his/her responsibility to maintain the branding of the organization.
ILLUSTRATION HEAD The Illustration Head acts as an art director and works with the entire illustration pool in making them critical thinkers and potential art directors as well. He/she is in charge of aiding and developing multiple aesthetically pleasing concepts that involve illustrations for design projects. He/she also assists the design pool in creating stories and visualizing information out of different styles of illustrations, effectively working with color combination, form, and type.
INTERNAL CREATIVES COORDINATOR The Internal Creatives Coordinator handles documentation of all events within the organization. He/she is also in charge of leading the Internal Creatives Pool in producing promo materials for orgwide activities.
ACCOUNTS COORDINATOR The Accounts Coordinator is in charge of effectively promoting the organization to potential clients and acts as the bridge between the clients and the designers. He/she also handles the client database, presentations, creative briefs, and all financial matters of the organization.
INTERNALS COORDINATOR The Internals Coordinator is in charge of communicating with the core members of the organization regarding upcoming projects and events, coordinating with the Ateneo Fine Arts Program, and handling and compiling all internal documents such as project proposals, waivers, evaluation forms, etc.
EXTERNALS COORDINATOR The Externals Coordinator handles the sponsorship and partnership deals of the organization. He/she is responsible for communicating with people outside of the organization.
MEMBERSHIP FORMATION COORDINATOR The Membership Formation Coordinator is in charge of promoting a sense of community within the organization by planning events and activities that aim to build ties among members and is also responsible for organizing fundraising strategies that will help sustain the organization.
MEMBERSHIP ENHANCEMENT COORDINATOR The Member Enhancement Coordinator is in charge of training and honing the work-related skills of the members through workshops, talks, skills-trainings, and other similar projects. The skills vary from design, to PR, and even to portfolio-building.
