COMPLETION OF BLOCK IN KARLIN The proposed building is located on the corner Thámova and Pernerova street in Karlin (Prague). On the land is located historically valuable two-storey residential building with neoclassical facade and a standard layout the gallery, one of the oldest in the area. Next to the corner house is in Pernerova street, another original story house. The aim of the project was to bring contemporary intervention into the historical environment with multi-function block development program - housing, offices, shops. The proposal maintains the two existing houses. The main concept is the completion of a vacant lot in Thámova street producing along with historic home socket for a three-story townhouse individual as an alternative way of modern living. Volume and form of proposed completion respects the scale of the existing house. Body mass is due to the historic house pushed away from the

street.Dividing townhouse is expressed in addition to the structure and color renderings, also frames completing a continuous street facade. Individual houses are accessible from the gallery in the courtyard referring to the history of the place. In the yard, the plot was designed apartment building with apartments from 2 + kk to 4 + kk. Smaller house in Pernerova Street was set on one floor level into a corner of the object containing two-storey studio. The entire area of the first floor serves as a business parter. It was restored original passage from the street Pernerova a newly designed passageway street from Thámova street forming a link between the two streets and the extension of public space in the courtyard involving commerce. The second and third floors are intended for offices. The upper floors are used for housing.

The proposed structure consists of an integrated compact unit, based on the interaction of people in the courtyard, supported by joint inputs from the streets. From the courtyard are entrances to individual houses. The aim was to gain an urban character. The development is made up of 8 townhouses on the northern side and four apartment buildings along busy streets. Thanks to a relatively small area of land level was raised courtyard one floor for better sun exposure, with a maximum of four storeys one sunken floor with half the width of the house. Mass block opens nip to the east, from which views in to the city Vyšehrad. The 36

Urban concept designed the site respects the shape of the land and, ultimately, was also influenced by the slope of the terrain. The proposed package consists of an integrated compact unit. The aim was to achieve in the area gain urban character. Urban structure based on the three blocks that surround the concourses and a cluster of detached houses terminating shape in the overall context and creates a compact big city block with a common courtyard. The development is made up of 2 apartment buildings in the west, 30 terraced houses in the center and 5 detached houses in the northern part of the plot. Urban form is in the direction of the slope soaring lightened by changing the floor plan shapes home.                 The emphasis is on public space and social interaction of people. All residential units have solved the main entrance through the shared public space with tourist functions. The aim is to create a social community where people can spend time together in public space, to meet each other, they will watch what is happening, and this leads also to social security and social education. The whole concept also corresponds to the height of buildings with a maximum of 3 floors, in order to maintain contact with residential parterre. Public spaces are also designed so as to allow the planting of greenery on which they will take care of the locals. Residential set a clear hierarchy of spaces. The whole design concept also builds residential complex Rynek name derived from an old word denoting the square or courtyard, which served as a public space bordered by the surrounding buildings.

HOUSE OF ARCHITECT The whole design concept is based on the views of Špilberk. My intention was not to create the entire plot, but also to allow space for the garden, which I think is a great luxury to have in the historical center of Brno own place in nature. I was looking for inspiration in Japanese buildings where small plot of land to build a narrow and tall building still left his post for a little green.

Axonometry

Slanting facades I achieved both prospects and better sunlight jenotlivých room. 5-storey house consists of one residential unit and architects. Studio occupies the 1st and 2nd floor contains 9 posts and a separate office for the chief architect, who is also the owner of the house. The studio has its own staircase, toilet and kitchen. Living part of the house is located in the 3rd, 4th and 5th floor. The internal arrangement of the rooms have a functional character. The building is designed from Liaporbeton monolithic reinforced concrete ceilings. The facade of the house is made of concrete garden viewing and editing is done by tiered terraces. Individual terraces are connected by a steel staircase. Concrete rock symbolizes its hardness, which is located in the rear of the building, terraces and contour. Shielding inner glass surfaces will, using shutters. The land is located in the city center. In this area in recent years several residential houses and is becoming a popular place designated for housing. Also this is the desired artists. Nearby there is a park fountain and gardens Denis and St. Anne’s Hospital. Public transport options are secured from Baker Street and orchards New Hybesova.

CONCEPT The aim of the project was to find a missing of space due to the introduction of railroads in the 19th century, which subsequently shaped the city and surrounding area was developed along the tracks. The proposal is based on the completion of an unfinished block quarters and create missing houses with the motive of creating courtyards, as have neighboring houses, and courtyard of houses along the railroad, surrounded by the surrounding buildings.

89

The area has a clearly defined hierarchy of spaces. Public space, which can be seen from all sides and we can come inside space, is located in the northern part of the site. Above the rail corridor was designed structure imitates the missing block development and the creation of imaginary streets. These two objects form a sort of lookout tower of offering different height levels to which people can browse and observe the surrounding area from different angles.

The individual levels imitates floors of the houses, staircases and ramps main communication, places for relax and the movement of people inside represents life in the houses, and or different height of individual parts the structure imitates individual height of houses in block of houses. There is a railway corridor, which is the basement of a houses whose walls are covered with vertical gardens and comes with the existing train station. Overpass above the tracks and connecting the two parts is made possible bridge imitates the street between houses and its extension to the width.
