Description / Purpose of Artifact The purpose of this artifact is to show one way that I am competent in classroom management in that I use instructional time effectively to maximize student achievement. With a daily bell ringer I present a scenario or idea with the intention to bring each student into the lesson for the day. The bell ringer causes each student to think their own context as it pertains to the lesson. This prepares a capacity in the student to learn the lesson information to follow.

What I Learned / What this Artifact Shows / What Questions Remain I have learned that a focused activity like a daily bell ringer serves several purposes.  It  provides a common connecting point for all learners.  It lets each learner use what they do  know no matter how central or tangential to the lesson.  These connecting points go a long  way to heighten student awareness in preparation for learning.
