7.11.09

STANDARD 1: Demonstrates ability to enhance academic performance and support for implementation of the school district's student achievement goals. B. Implements strategies supporting student, building, and district goals. Description / Purpose of Artifact As a volunteer on the crisis leadership team I implement strategies that support student, building, and district goals. Chiefly, these strategies involve planning, preparing, and practicing procedures and processes that will be carried out in the event of a building crisis. This artifact is the cover/quick- sheet of our district crisis plan. It represents my involvement on the team.

What I Learned / What this Artifact Shows / What Questions Remain Being on this team is very important. What I have learned is that while emergencies/crises cannot be anticipated preparation remains critical. Being on this team involves bottom line responsibility and preparedness. The strategies we implement remain in constant periodic review as we continue to assess our building/district needs. The continuing question for this issue is—how can we better prepare for crises and what are the potential threats/problems?
