A VISIT WITH Bishop Julian PORTEOUS Auxiliary Bishop of the Sydney Archdiocese and Episcopal Vicar for Renewal and Evangelisation Wednesday, March 9, 2011, 4pm
Abbotsford Rd, Homebush....
Couples for Christ International Council Director and Country Coordinator for Australia, Lito Tayag, together with missionaries, Dandy and Susan Calvez visited Bishop Julian Porteous in his office. With them and shown in photo were CFC Sydney Dom Pangilinan, and YFC leaders Noel Custodio and Marissa Alonzo. It was a lively visit with the youth briefing the good bishop of their many activities this year. Of particular interest was the YFC Oceania conference in July which will be attended by many young people from all over the Oceania Region. Bishop Porteous proposed to have a very fitting closing activity for the visiting youth at a much open venue like Tumbalong Park at Darling Harbour. He praised CFC and YFC as a whole for being bold in expressing their Catholic faith. To evangelize, he said, is to be seen and be contagious in our many acts of faith. Lito made a follow-up to the earlier invite to him to grace the occasion of the 30th anniversary of CFC which will be held in Manila in June. Overall, Dom said that all were relaxed. There was much fun and laughter in sitting down with the Bishop this time after having done a few courtesy calls like this in the past. By: Josie Pangilinan
