Objective 1: Format Numbered and Bulleted Lists

2.01 Selecting Placeholder Text

2.02 Changing a Bulleted List to a Numbered List

Start PowerPoint. Open goppt2010_1e_p02A_script_data. Create a new folder PowerPoint Chapter 2 and save the file as Lastname_Firstname_2A_Hotel

Display Slide 2. Click inside the content placeholder with the bulleted text. Click the border of the placeholder to select it, and then change the font size to 32.

Display Slide 4. Select the content placeholder with the bulleted text, and then click the Numbering button.

Display Slide 3. Select the three second-level bullets. On the Home tab, in the Paragraph group, click the Bullets button arrow to display the Bullets gallery. Click on Bullets and Numbering at the bottom of the gallery. Change the bullets to arrow bullets and change the color to Dark Red.

Display Slide 2. Click inside the text of the bullet point. Click the Bullets button to remove the bullet symbol. Center the paragraph and change the line spacing to 1.5.

Apply Bold and Italic text style to the paragraph and then center the slide title.

Display Slide 4. Change the slide layout to Two Content. In the placeholder on the right side of the slide, click the Clip Art button. Search for sunscreen Media file types should only be Photographs. Include Office.com content. Insert the clip art.

Display Slide 1. Search for brass service bell and insert the picture. Close the Clip Art pane.

Select the image on Slide 1. On the Format tab, in the Size group, set the Height to 2.4. Make sure you can view the rulers. Drag the picture until the upper left corner is 1 inch to the right of 0 on the horizontal ruler and at 0 inches on the vertical ruler.

Display Slide 6. Insert a Clip Art photo. Search for Hotel Select the first photo and insert it (your picture may be different than the solution). Format the photo to a Height of 2 inches. Close the Clip Art pane.

Display Slide 1 and select the picture. On the Format tab, click the Crop button arrow and then point to Crop to Shape. In the Basic Shapes category, click Teardrop.

Display Slide 5. Insert a Text Box. Place the text box horizontally at 4 inches to the left of the 0 and vertically at 1 inch below the 0. Click in the box and type If Customer Service is a problem Select the text and change the font size to 20.

On the Insert tab, click the Shapes button and insert a Notched Right Arrow at 0.5 inches to the right of 0 horizontally and 1 inch below 0 vertically. On the Format tab, in the Size group, set the height to 0.6 inches and the width to 1.5 inches.

On the Format tab, in the Insert Shapes group, click the More button. In the Stars and Banners section, insert Explosion 1 2.5 inches to the right of 0 and 0.5 inch below 0. Format the height to 1.5 inches and the width to 2.0 inches.

Click Explosion 1 so it is selected. Type FIX IT! Point out that the text is centered. Set the font size to 20.

On Slide 5, click in the text If Customer Service is a problem. On the Format tab, in the Shape Style group, click the More button. In the third row, click the second style Light 1 Outline, Colored Fill - Dark Red, Accent 1. Apply the same style to Explosion 1. Click on the notched right arrow, and in the fourth row, click the first style, Subtle Effect - Black, Dark 1.

Display Slide 2 and click inside the content placeholder. In the Shape Styles group, click the Shape Fill button arrow. In the first row, click the third color, Gray-25%, Background 2. Click the Shape Outline button and format the Line Weight to 2 1/4 pt.

Select the entire paragraph. On the Home tab, in the Font group, click the Font Color button arrow. In the first row, click the third color, Dark Red, Accent 1.

On the Format tab, click Shape Effect. In the Outer section, in the second row, select the first effect, Shadow, Offset Right.

Display Slide 1. Select the picture. On the Format tab, click Picture Effects. Click Glow. In the Glow Variations section, in the second row, click the first variation, Glow, Dark Red, 8 pt glow, Accent color 1.

Display Slide 4. Select the picture. Click Picture Effects and then click Bevel. In the third row, click the second effect, Bevel, Riblet.

Display Slide 6. Drag the picture to the upper right corner of the slide. Press Ctrl+D to duplicate the picture. Duplicate it once more and move the pictures so you can see all three.

Select the three pictures. On the Format tab, in the Arrange group, select Align to Slide, then Align to Top, and then Distribute Horizontally. On the Format tab, in the Picture Styles group, click the Picture Effects button. Click Soft Edges, 10 point.

Display Slide 5. Select the three graphic objects. On the Format tab, in the Arrange group, click Align and then Align Middle. Click Align and then click Distribute Horizontally.

Show the Slide Show from the Beginning. Return to Normal view when finished.

On the Insert tab, in the Text group, Insert a Header and Footer. On the Notes and Handouts tab, include Date and Time in the header and type Lastname_Firstname_2A_Hotel in the footer.

Display Backstage view. Display the Document Panel. In the Author box, type your first and last names. In the Subject box, type your course name, and in the Keywords box type hotel, customer service Close the Document Information Panel.
