ERE's Reusable CarboBailer™

The CarboBailer™ is an economical way of collecting and/or sampling hydrocarbons from wells, drums, or tanks. It works by just slowly inserting the bailer into the well and just slowly removing it. As it will be raised from the well, the water will drain out of the bailer while the hydrocarbons will be trapped. The hydrocarbons can be removed by either pouring out from the top or using a bottom-emptying device.

Designed to work with the Waterra pump system, surge blocks are tough thermoplastic donuts that press fit onto either a standard flow system WA-D-25 footvalve to accommodate 2" wells or a high flow system WA-D-32 footvalve to accommodate 4" wells. The surge block is designed to free up silt and sediment in the sand pack and screen, and breaks down bridging, drawing these particles into the well and then removes this material from the well.

The Micro Double Valve Pumps (Micro DVP) have a remarkably small and flexible design. As a positive displacement pneumatic pump, it uses coaxial PTFE tubing to give high quality samples. Operation - Technique 1 - Point Sampling

1. Insert the sampler into the product.

2. At the required depth press the push button to open the valve in the tip allowing the sample to be drawn into the sampler.

3. Withdraw sampler.

Operation - Technique 2 - Cross Sectional

1. Press the push button to open the valve in the tip and slowly insert the sampler into the product.

2. As the sampler is pushed in a cross sectional sample is taken.

3. Release the push button at the required depth to stop any more liquid from entering the sampler.

4. Withdraw sampler.

Note: To take a large sample the sampler needs to be inserted deep into the product.
