To All of our Competitors and Customers, After a very long and difficult winter we are excited to welcome everyone back to the Caledon Pan Am Equestrian Park. Phase 2 of the re-development project is proceeding on schedule. A beautiful brand new Pavilion is sitting high atop the Palgrave skyline, offering a shelter from mother nature, full service restaurant and a licensed lounge. The new all weather high tech footing has been installed in the Grand Prix Ring and attached schooling area. The Park now has a total of 5 rings with the high tech footing, which will greatly reduce the challenges of Ontario weather. Prize money has again increased, and is well over 1 Million dollars for the 2014 season. We have added numerous specialty and fun classes for our Junior Amateur Jumpers including a Hit & Hurry, Team Event and a Joker Class. The success of the Junior Amateur Pan Am Challenge has been expanded, every Junior Amateur Class held at the Caledon Equestrian Park will count toward the Grand Finales in September. The Hunters will have plenty of options for special classes including Handy classes, Hunter Classics and Hunter Derbies throughout the year. The LongRun Thoroughbred Hunter Classic Series will host 4 qualifying classes and the Year End Finals 2014. The Caledon Young Horse Series will continue again this year, offering classes designed specifically for the young horse and a year end final. Our FEI Riders will be happy to see that we have 5 weeks of FEI Competition, offering a total of nine classes. The OHJA continues to support it’s riders with a wide variety of programs this year. Everyone from beginner to master and hunter / jumper and equitation will have a OHJA Program this year. It is important for us to acknowledge the ongoing commitment from all of our corporate partners. Without them we could not meet the challenge of producing great events for you. We would also like to offer a huge thank you to our new supporters - Horseware Ireland, & Synoil Energy Services. This is our 28th year of producing quality equestrian events in Southern Ontario and we are ecstatic that the Caledon Equestrian Park re-development is well under way. Phase 3, the two new auxiliary buildings will include the indoor arenas and indoor stabling plus event space and a snack bar, construction set to begin at the end of this year. In our constantly changing sport, we know that you have expectations of a great venue, a solid dependable management team and a clean safe environment for your horses. We are sure that the new Caledon Pan Am Equestrian Park will add immensely to your showing experience and provide you and your horses a fantastic venue to accomplish your goals. The legacy created from this major development will provide the generations to come many fantastic opportunities to enjoy our wonderful sport. Enjoy the Ride with us! CRAIG

EC is committed to: • Upholding the welfare of the horses, regardless of value, as a primary consideration in all activities; • Requiring that horses be treated with kindness, respect and the compassion that they deserve, and that they never be subjected to mistreatment; • Ensuring that owners, trainers and exhibitors or their agents use responsible care in the handling, treatment and transportation of their horses as well as horses placed in their care for any purpose; • Providing for the continuous well-being of horses by encouraging routine inspection and consultation with health care professionals and competition officials to achieve the highest possible standards of nutrition, health, comfort and safety as a matter of standard operating procedure; • Continuing to support scientific studies on equine health and welfare; • Requiring owners, trainers and exhibitors to know and follow their sanctioning organization’s rules, and to work within industry regulations in all equestrian competition; • Reviewing, revising and developing competition rules and regulations that protect the welfare of the horses. The standard by which conduct or treatment will be measured is that which a person, informed and experienced in generally accepted equine training and exhibition procedures, would determine to be neither cruel, abusive nor inhumane. Any horse entered in any class at an EC Sanctioned Competition may, while on competition grounds be selected for equine medication control testing.
