EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT CENTER Opened under the patronage of the Minister of Social Development, the Educational Development Center (EDC) is located in Jordan’s largest juvenile detention center and includes a computer lab, an Arabic and English library and knowledge station. The goal of the EDC is to educate and empower the regular influx of marginalized youth by providing free access to educational resources and technology – tools which will strengthen the capacity of the boys to engage their futures more effectively in the economic and social domains.
ARTS DAY 44 orphan children participated in dancing, art and singing workshops. This unique opportunity provided these children with a chance to recognize the critical role of artists in cultural advancement, and to enhance and promote their skills. Lunch and gifts all added to a wonderful day of fun and learning to remember.
MOTHER’S DAY Ladies from rural areas who have overcome the challenges of cultural barriers and are supporting their family and community through handicrafts were honored for Mother’s Day by visiting the Dead Sea for lunch, relaxation and gifts.
EXCURSIONS Children gathered for fun with our volunteer team at the cinema, enjoying ‘fun stations’ including games, face painting, balloon bending and arts and crafts before enjoying a 3D movie.
