Dear Parents, Last Friday the Year 6 student leaders went with Mrs Davey and myself to the Weeroona College student led assembly. This was a valuable experience and gave our children additional ideas for our Monday morning assemblies. Don’t forget to come along on Monday and see our school captains conduct assembly. Congratulations to Mrs Davey on a successful submission to Bendigo & District Community Enterprise for a grant to beautify the chook shed wall. The grant was for $700 and when the weather picks up a local artist will be in to paint a mural. Well done! Congratulations also to our footy team who participated in the footy carnival at Junortoun yesterday. The boys behaved in a very sporting manner and displayed a lot of resilience. Good on you! Thank you to Gill Davey for taking them and Tristan Pocock for coaching the team. Good luck to the Netball team who are competing today. They are being coached by Bridget Chambers and supervised by Jan Brunswick. We hope you had a great day. Kerry McGuffie

CHOOK SCRAPS Remember to save your scraps from home for the chooks.

HEADLICE Yesterday we had another head lice check and we would appreciate it if all parents could continue to check their children’s heads diligently and treat if necessary. We appreciate that headlice is not easy to control and regular checking and follow up treatment is essential.

WOOD RAFFLE Only a few days until the wood raffle is drawn—at Assembly on MONDAY. More tickets are available from the Office. Sell some to your family and friends, only 50c a ticket or $5 a book.

GROUNDS ROSTER Today I will be sending keys home to the Cullen, Currie and Dangerfield families. Thank you for helping keep our school grounds tidy. Next week’s keys will go home to the D’Arcy, Davey and Dennis families.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE EPSOM 2012 FOOTBALL TEAM AND COACH POCOCK

FOOTBALL CARNIVAL Yesterday the Epsom footy team competed in the footy carnival at Catholic College Bendigo. The conditions were perfect for footy. We shared the bus with Huntly and we were allowed to bring money for the canteen. Our first opponents were Quarry Hill; we lost to them by 3 points. Our stars were Dan, Liam, Josh, Seeton and Keelan. We won 5 out of 6 games and we were happy and we expected to be in the finals but St Peters took our points from us because we had too many players on the field for a short time. We would like to thank Mr Pocock and Mrs Davey for coaching and helping out; we would also like to thank Ken Bell for taking the tent for us. By Keelan, Dylan and Dan.
