Getting Along, Persistence, Organisation, Confidence Resilience

Dear Parents/Carers, I hope everyone had a restful and safe long weekend. The students and staff are happily settled into their new locations and continuing to work hard on teaching and learning. Since the holidays the children have been training each day for the cross country. Our students are building their fitness and we look forward to this event on Friday. Please come along to help out or to observe. Next week will again be a busy one with the Walkathon and Mother’s Day Stall. Thank you to the fundraising group for organising these events. Please see below another opportunity to raise funds for the school. Enjoy your week Kerry McGuffie

Government funded fundraiser The Government is funding 960,000 home sustainability assessments to help homeowners and renters understand what they can do in their homes to make them 'greener'. Whilst for some this is obvious, many householders don't know where to begin. These government funded assessments are a great first step towards understanding what is going on in your home and can be a no cost way of discovering where to start or what to do next. ecoMaster is a company that has been retrofitting homes for over six years and have teams of assessors throughout Victoria, Queensland and New South Wales that conduct quality assessments under the Green Loan Scheme. They are inviting members of the Epsom Primary School community along with their family, friends and neighbours to have a free assessment done on their home and for every assessment completed they will donate $10 to Epsom Primary School. The assessments will take around 90 minutes to complete. All you need to do is be there to discuss your home and show the assessor around so that he can offer valuable advice on how to create a comfortable and sustainable home. Remember that educating and inspiring people to make a difference can begin with just one conversation and one or two golden nuggets of information. So how many people do you think you could convince to spend 90 minutes to help save the planet and raise $10 for Epsom Primary School?

Epsom Cross Country The Cross Country Run is on this Friday April 30th commencing at 1.45pm. Thank you to the people who have offered to assist. Please be at school by 1.30pm on the netball court and I will explain your task. 5 and 6 Years run 400 metres 7 and 8 Years run 800 metres 9 and 10 Years run 2 kilometres 11 and 12+ run 3 kilometres Walk-a-Thon – Friday, 7th May The school will be conducting a Walk-a-thon on Friday, 7th May. (A Sausage lunch order form is at the end of this newsletter.) Your child can help with our fundraising effort by seeking donations for the Walk-a-thon. Forms can be obtained from the office. There will be prizes awarded to the highest fundraiser for each grade level.
