MARKET UPDATES & STOCK RECOMMENDATION PRUDENTIAL Singapore said on Wednesday that its new business sales last year reached a record S$706 million, up 18 per cent over the previous year. This was boosted partly by strong sales of investment products to high net worth individuals, the insurance company said in a press statement.

CITY DEVELOPMENT

Singapore’s manufacturing output grew 12.8% in February 2014. Excluding biomedical manufacturing, output increased 11.2%. On a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis, manufacturing output increased 6.2% in February 2014. Excluding biomedical manufacturing, output rose 3.8%. SINGAPORE Airlines has priced Wednesday a bumper S$500 million debt issue. The issuance was made up of two tranches - S$200 million of 7-year bonds paying 3.145 per cent and S$300 million of 10-year bonds paying 3.75 per cent. The bond sale was from its S$2 billion multi-currency medium term note program. DBS Bank was the sole bookrunner.
