SATURDAY. EASTERN WELNORTHWEST NAZARENE UNIVERSITY, TREASURE VALLEY COMMUNITY COLLEGE, A SELECT GROUP FROM BOISE STATE UNIVERSITY, AND A GENEROUS AMOUNT OF UNATTACHED ENTRIES. FIELD EVENTS WILL BEGIN THE MEET AT 10 A.M. WITH THE SHOT PUT, POLE VAULT, LONG JUMP, AND HIGH JUMP. ADMISSION IS FREE TO FANS, BUT ALL FANS ARE ASKED TO LEAVE THEIR PETS AT HOME, AS EOU HAS A STRICT NO PETS POLICY ON ITS ATHLETIC FIELDS. HOME MEET OF THE SEASON COMES

Eastern Oregon’s Ryan Booth had the third NAIA auto mark of the WAR meet last Saturday. The junior came in fourth in the men's 800 meters with a time of 1:52.82. His mark is the sixth best in the NAIA so far this season and second in the conference. The Post Falls, Idaho native is fifth in the conference in the 1,500 meters with a time of 3:58.42.

QUICK HITS * After four outdoor meets, Eastern Oregon has nine NAIA auto-qualifying mark. The Mountaineers landed four auto marks just last weekend at the WAR meet. * EOU has had nine of its track and field athletes tabbed Athlete of the Week so far in 2011 in indoor and outdoor track and field. * The Mountaineers have had four national athletes of the week in 2011. * Karlee Coffey owns the top time currently in the women’s 10,000 meters in the NAIA. * Robbie Haynie recorded the top mark currently in the NAIA at the Willamette Invitational. * Eastern Oregon owns 10 top marks currently in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. * The Mountaineers won five conference titles a year ago.

GARCILAZO GRABS CONFERENCE HONOR Eastern Oregon University track and field student-athlete, Alma Garcilazo, was named the Red Lion Cascade Collegiate Conference women's track and field Athlete of the Week Monday. Garcilazo was the second Mountaineer to hit an NAIA auto mark at the WAR meet in Spokane, Wash. Saturday. The junior hit her second auto mark this season finishing fourth in the women's 1,500 meters. She crossed the line with a time of 4:37.30. Garcilazo's mark is currently the second-fastest time in the conference; she currently has the top time in the 800. LAST TIME OUT Eastern Oregon University track and field student-athlete, Robbie Haynie, won the men's decathlon at the Spokane Multi-Events Meet Wednesday. Haynie finished with 6,762 points, 94 points ahead of the second place finisher. Haynie's point total was 180 points shy of the EOU school record set by Lucas Ohmes in 2009. But, Haynie should easily qualify for the 16-participant decathlon field at the NAIA National Championships. Haynie currently has the top point total in the NAIA this season by 304 points. The junior posted the best marks of the second day in both the discus (124'7") and the pole vault (16' 6.75"). His other marks Wednesday were the 110-meter hurdles (16.12 seconds), the Javelin (144' 11") and 1,500 meters (5:13.76). Dustin Cloud posted the sixth-best point total so far this season in the NAIA with a fourth place finish in the decathlon with 5,892 points. Allison Rodgers' first attempt at the heptathlon netted her the ninth best point total in EOU history with 3584 points. THE MOUNTAINEERS WEEKEND SCHEDULE

Women’s Track Athlete of Week Alma Garcilazo, Jr. (Eastern Oregon) - competing at the WAR IV meet in Spokane, Garcilazo earned an NAIA automatic qualifying time in the 1500 meters (4:37.30). She also clocked a time of 57:45 in the 400.

Women’s Field Athlete of Week Gabriella Dixson, So. (Concordia) - won three events at Western Oregon University’s John Knight Invitational. She had marks of 48-6 ¼ (shot put), 155-2 (discus) and 170-5 (hammer).

Men’s Track Athlete of Week Paul Sartin, Sr. (College of Idaho) - clocked an NAIA automatic qualifying time in the 10,000 meters (31:17.25) at Western Oregon University’s John Knight Invitational. His time also set a C of I school record.

Men’s Field Athlete of Week Max Perry, Jr. (Southern Oregon) - competing at the Chico State Invitational, Perry finished third in the hammer (168-6), fourth in the shot put (50-0 ½) and seventh in the discus (147-0).
