ONE TO WATCH Eastern Oregon pitcher Jennifer McDonnell is coming off a big series against Walla Walla University. The sophomore had three doubles and three RBI against the Wolves last Sunday. She threw a two-hit complete game shutout victory in the first game of the series

THE SERIES * Oregon Tech has won 41 of the 55 meetings over the Mountaineers since 2001. * The Owls have won eight straight games over Eastern Oregon. * OIT is undefeated at home this season, winning all eight games in Klamath Falls. * Since 2001, Eastern Oregon is 15-36 against Southern Oregon. * The Raiders have won seven of the last eight meetings with EOU. * SOU is coming off a sweep over conference-leading Oregon Tech. ABOUT THE LADY OWLS Oregon Tech (27-8) (13-3) came into the season picked second in the Cascade Collegiate Conference preseason coaches’ poll. Halfway through the conference schedule they lead the league standings and are ranked No. 17 in the country. Before the losses at Southern Oregon, Tech had gone 18-1 in its last 19 games, including 11 wins in a row. The Owls are in the top 20 in the NAIA in six statistical categories. Ashleigh Larson’s 51 total RBI is fifth in the nation. ABOUT THE RAIDERS Southern Oregon (12-15) (9-7) enters the weekend battling for the fourth and final position in the Cascade Confernce playoffs. The Raiders and Corban are even at 9-7 in the fourth spot in the league standings. Jessica Flores has only walked five batters this season, which is 13th in the NAIA. SOU ended a four-game losing streak with a stunning sweep over No. 17 Oregon Tech at home. Flores has only allowed 23 runs and 45 hits on the mound, both are second in the conference. LAST TIME OUT The Eastern Oregon University softball outscored Walla Walla University, 15-0, in a doubleheader sweep Sunday, 6-0 and 9-0. McDonnell (3-14) had an outstanding day on the mound for EOU. The sophomore tossed a two-hitter through seven innings. She allowed a hit in the second and sixth innings. McDonnell struck out five WWU batters, and walked three others in the shutout. Veronica Rojas led off the second game for the Wolves with a single up the middle. It would be the lone hit allowed by the Mountaineers' Jessy Reynolds. The freshman picked up her first win of her collegiate career. She allowed one hit and no runs through seven innings. The Union, Ore. native struck out two batters and walked a pair. EOU improved to 36-1 against Walla Walla since 2001.

EASTERN HAS WEEKEND CHANGES The Cascade Collegiate Conference announced changes to Eastern Oregon University's softball schedule this weekend Wednesday. The Mountaineers were scheduled to play at Oregon Tech and Southern Oregon Friday and Saturday, but after poor weather conditions were forecasted for Friday, the games were pushed back a day. Eastern will now face Oregon Tech Saturday at 11 a.m. in Klamath Falls and Southern Oregon Sunday at 11 a.m. in Ashland.
