ABOUT THE CAVALIERS Concordia has run out to a 4-1 start through its first five games, winning its first four over New Hope Christian (67-46), Willamette (79-47), William Jessup (68-61) and Simpson (8276) before dropping a close game against No. 6-ranked Lewis & Clark (69-66). The hot start has been somewhat unprecedented for the women’s basketball program as the Cavs hadn’t won their first four games of the season since the 1987-88 team won its first 15. In addition, the Cavs haven’t gone 4-1 over their first five games since starting 4-1 during the 2009-10 season. ABOUT THE KNIGHTS The Knights enter their 2012-13 season with a 2-2 record. With a record of 13-5 in conference play last year, they will be looking to gain some more wins. They will play on Tuesday and Friday before making their way to La Grande. Warner Pacific will be looking to avenge their two losses against the Mountaineers last year.

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE The conference schedule gets underway this week as the long journey towards a title begins. Oregon Tech and Southern Oregon head up Interstate 5 as they will take on Corban and Northwest Christian to open the schedule. The two Portland schools hit the road as well as Concordia and Warner Pacific head east to meet up with College of Idaho and Eastern Oregon. The final two teams will match up on Saturday as Northwest heads to Olympia to take on Evergreen. Following this weekend, the teams will get a few weeks break from conference play as the student-atheltes prepare for finals, though
