A luxury residential development with a prime location on the Water Canal of Dilmunia master plan. Creating a harmony between the contemporary design and the natural landscape, defining a new private and public experience. The Project is a mixed used development consisting of 10 plots each having a wider retail podium and a residential tower. Typically, the podium consists of Retail and Car Parking areas. The top of the podium consists of outdoor landscaped area and a swimming pool.

Progressing to the Advanced Concept Design we developed Basement Plans, Ground Floor Plans, Podium Plans, Typical & Penthouse Plans. In addition to generating different building sections to highlight the different building components and it’s floor to floor hight. Elevations & 3D Massing Views were developed based on the initial approved concept for Mix 16, with having some kind of a variation from one mix to another.

Programme: City Center Hotel Site : 10,901 sqm Building Area: 120,000 sqm Height: 144.75m I 40 floors Category: Student Project I Personal Project Today, Lagos Island is filled with a banal urban skyline that does not reflect the modern trend of skyscraper design. Lagos Island consistrs of a series of extruded boxes that do not allow for much variation in high rise architecture which portrays a lack of excitement. This is in addition to the desolate urban environment after corporte hours creates the need for revitalization efforts. It is one of the twenty-two identified catalyst projects to be implemented in response to revitalization effort of Lagos Island. The Marina Hotel was conceived to respond to the cultural context, inspired by a sailboat because of it’s proximity to the Lagos inland waterway.

The Lotus Students Affairs Building I University of Lagos (2016) I Advanced Design Studio 2 Role: Design, 3D Modelling & Post Production I Rendering by Uche Uwaoma I Supervisors: Prof O.S. Obi Programme: Students Affairs Building Site : 5,501 sqm Building Area: 17,500 sqm Height: 35m I 7 floors Category: Student Project I Personal Project The brief was to demolish the existing student’s affairs building as well as other structures on the site (Photostudio, UBA bank, QSS eatry & incorporate them into a new comprehensive building The concept is a biomorphic adaptation of the lotus flower, signifying new life to the site. The stem serves as the core of the building, with the flowers serving as the existing functions on the site to be fused into 1.

The aim of this Project is to create a Broadcasting Station in the University of Lagos, using sustainable approaches creatively in making an environmentally friendly, climatically responsive & energy efficient building. The project also seeks to resolve the challenges of quality information dissemination on the campus. The form of the building was inspired by an open palm, signifying openness in terms of information. A display screen was also incorporated to the facade facing the major road to publicize key events & programes on the campus

Platform Tower Mixed-Use Development I Plot PC9 Idowu Taylor Street, Victoria Island, Lagos (2015) Role: Conceptual development, Presentation & Working Drawings I Supervisors: Arc F. Majoroh, Arc M. Orenuga Programme: Mixed Use Development Site : 2,031 sqm Building Area: 16,800 sqm Height: 77.11m I 17 floors Category: Professional I Collaborative Project Platform Petroleum Ltd called for design concepts in a competition between several Architects for their new office headquarters at Plot PC9, Idowu Taylor Street, Victoria Island, Lagos on the 22nd of October, 2014. Submissions were expected on or before the close of business on the 12th of December, 2014. The brief simply stated a desire to have a beautiful edifice of 15 floors befitting the status and vision of the company. The project site is in the high brow old Victoria Island professional close precinct, which is considered to be the most sophisticated institutional part of the city of Lagos. The site is reasonably flat and firm with an overlay of sharp white sand and no significant encumbrances or land forms. It is bounded by the Okoi Arikpo house & Stirling Trust Company building. The site is easily accessible from the Akin Adesola spine and the Ozumba Mbadiwe artery. The surrounding areas are fully developed but undergoing significant redevelopment.

Key Themes ---Contextualization. Form responds to the company’s function in oil exploration with bold complementary masses that seemingly jut out from the surface. ---Conditioned microclimate. Optimization of the mass and form to enhance the local micro climate. Recessed curtain walls are further shaded by terraces reducing heat gain and attendant cooling cost.

Having derived an appropriate benchmark of objectives from the backdrop of the explicit written design desire of the developer and mindful of the business specialization of the owner, we arrived at a design concept viz “occupational determinant in affirmative visual formation”

The vision being a resort to the primordial molecular form “Kerogen” which is the progenitor of the hydrocarbons upon which Platform Petroleum Ltd business is based. 205 nos. parking spaces provided on 5 floor levels above grade.

Eko Atlantic Tower Mixed-Use Development I Eko Atlantic City, Victoria Island, Lagos (2017) I Masters Thesis Role: Design & 3D Modelling I Rendering by Jil Yinka I Supervisors: Prof Adebamowo, Prof Igwe, Arc Jobi Programme: Mixed Use Development Site : 14,459 sqm Building Area: 17,500 sqm Height: 155m I 40 floors Category: Professional I Collaborative Project The design is based on the study of curtain wall systems in improving energy efficiency in high rise buildings in the Eko Atlantic City. The chosen project was a headquaters for the Chagoury Group of Companies. The group’s headquaters is based in West Africa, with it’s portfolio of activities including Construction & Property, Floor Mills, Water Bottling & Purification, Glass Manufacturing, Telecommunications, Information Technology, Catering & International Financing. The Chagoury Group is the parent company of Southern Energy, the major financiers of the Eko Atlantic City Development. The company intended to develop a mixed use tower comprising offices & residences. The offices will serve as a corporate headquaters for their major subsidiaries. The form was inspired by the fact that it will be the DNA of operations for the company as well as responding to the wind loads posed by it’s proximity to the Atlantic Ocean. A twisting form will help to mitigate the vortex created by the wind movement.

Key Themes ---Contextualization. Form responds to the building’s function as the DNA of all operations for the company ---Conditioned microclimate. Optimization of the mass and form to enhance the local micro climate. Twisting, Rough & Streamlined forms were the options explored with the twisting form standing out because it maintains the maximum lettable floor area.
