INTERVIEW BY VEE BLACKWELL

VOL 3.10

E N V Y MAGAZINE - 25

Vee DelGotti Blackwell (veeambitieux): I would first like to congratulate you and your Fraternity of another year on the grid. I was very happy to witness your Founder's Day. ƝєяσƖι Ƥσятσfιησ Sя (switchblade.zane): We appreciate the love, support, and criticism. Thank you for being a motivational factor, the pleasure is truly all ours.

Neroli Portofino Sr: Indeed Ms. Blackwell, there is only one world, no matter how W/we split it and energies will collide, W/we have to make the conscious decision that the collision will be one of progressive purpose. Vee DelGotti Blackwell: What made you and Rhys want to start Beta Omega Iota?

Vee DelGotti Blackwell: But yes, you are well in your right to have your Fraternity exude When it comes to Beta Omega Iota, what are those qualities and it shows to many people on you and your brothers the most passionate this grid, which makes your organization one about and why? of my favorites. Neroli Portofino Sr: Again, there is a gambit of things to be passionate about, it is incessantly difficult to fathom one concept. However, if I had to choose, we are most passionate about collective unity. At first glance, O/one would assume that collective and unity are synonymous. However, the way human interactions manifest, these terms are actually mutually exclusive. We aim to narrow the gap and create a parallel bond. We desire to correct the dehiscence across groups. The proper term would be acculturation.

Neroli Portofino Sr: We appreciate that beyond measure, it is truly a pleasure to be of service to those around Us. Make the heart tick and the fingers log on! (oi!)

Vee DelGotti Blackwell: Your fraternity has been given a lot of recognition, how do you handle that?

Vee DelGotti Blackwell: Very true and a great number of people have been happy to see you all being recognized and given the proper respect that you all deserve. How is Beta Omega Iota different from other organizations? Neroli Portofino Sr): Hmm, this is an even more interesting question. My view of other organizations revolve around what they define and exhibit (exhibit being the key word) as important factors to support the infrastructure of the organization. Our main focus has been to support other organizations and add to the fertilizer that keeps the ground fruitful as a Greek. However, as I sit here and think about that question right now, I would have to say the biggest thing[s] I can even begin to piece together is Our passion, drive, democracy, and investment in personal growth that We hope will impact each person We are blessed to come across. Vee DelGotti Blackwell: This is exactly why you all make so much noise on the grid because you all go so hard with everything that you do. Neroli Portofino Sr: The internal and external support is the heartbeat of that throttle, and [our] plan to keep this ride in overdrive. Vee DelGotti Blackwell: You're all about positivity and growth, do you think that you are a different person from 2 years ago to now?

you are one of the most beautiful souls that I am proud to watch. Everything about you is a great example of a humble person. Neroli Portofino Sr: Thank you. I hope to stay blessed enough to stay on track. I find great pleasure in appreciating those things, efforts, and P/people around a central point. Vee DelGotti Blackwell: What are some upcoming events that you and your organization have coming up? Neroli Portofino Sr: We have a collaborative event with Alpha Sigma Omega on January 6th, I am excited to work with them. The energy from ASO is invigorating, it’s like two throttles at once, lol! We will be continuing our forums in the New Year. Sexuality, transgender awareness, and many other events centered around contributing to those [who] need support and resources in both SL and RL. We are passionate about anything that [has] everything to do with extending a hand, both mentally and physically. The Charity Explosion was HUGE for Us, and We hope to drive organizations to participate in what many Greeks hold near and dear; serving those in need. We enjoy a good "step" too, so the Beta Omega Iota 4th Annual Stomp show is surely to be an epic time to relax, express, and celebrate. JAVION BLAYLOCK

INTERVIEW BY VEE BLACKWELL

VOL 3.10

E N V Y MAGAZINE - 31

With so many hangout spots in Second Life, there is one main spot that you can see your friends or meet someone new: the clubs. Second Life clubs offer a variety of music, dancing, and contests to choose from. Kemistre is one of the many clubs and lounges here on the grid. It houses the best urban DJ’s who do nothing short of keeping the party going. You may have seen many flyers and advertisements about Kemistre’s weekly parties as they are live and filled to capacity at each event. We got to to sit down with Kemistre’s owner and CEO, Javion Blaylock, and he let us in on just how he makes Kemistre work week by week.

Vee DelGotti Blackwell (veeambitieux): First and foremost, happy New Year to you. I heard you brought the New Year in at Kemistre.

the cat out the bag then everyone will know the secret. Hard work and a good supporting system. I don’t do everything by myself, hell my supporting cast is outstanding. I’m a pusher and sometimes i might push too hard, but that’s just me. I want to succeed. Vee DelGotti Blackwell: Sometimes people do need that push to get things done in the right way. Mr. Javion Blaylock: Yea, lol, but sometimes you don’t wanna push so hard that you run everyone away. Vee DelGotti Blackwell: What motivates you to keep Kemistre going every week?

Mr. Javion Blaylock (javion.blaylock): Same to you Mr. Javion Blaylock: That comes from [being] not too and yeah, I did. the one to start something and not finish it. There have been plenty times where it’s been stressful Vee DelGotti Blackwell: What made you want sometimes, things don’t go as you plan. So that to start Kemistre? goes with the push that I have and [avoiding] not finishing something that I started, and that comes Mr. Javion Blaylock: For the love of music. I was from the supporting cast that I got around me. always the one going to other clubs so I said, why not be an owner. Why not be that person who Vee DelGotti Blackwell: When you are not pergives nothing but the hottest DJ’s and the best mu- forming your duties at Kemistre, what are you sic on the grid. like and what do your hobbies consist of? Vee DelGotti Blackwell: Ok, good answer and yes, some of the hottest DJ's have been seen right there and the atmosphere is live.

Mr. Javion Blaylock: I’m a soon to be hubby, so I have my special lady in my life who takes up a lot of my time, but I’m a sport fanatic, [enjoy] movies and most of all, music. So, a lot [of] times I’m out Mr. Javion Blaylock: Yes, something that’s drama supporting other clubs. Vee DelGotti Blackwell: What is your role or roles of the club?

So I’m always around on the grid going [to] support them and other venues.

Mr. Javion Blaylock: CEO, well one of them, and hell, I got my hands in everything but Dj’ing. Keeping it hot, current, and mostly make sure that every person and thing flows.

Vee DelGotti Blackwell: And you do that to get support from other clubs as well?

Mr. Javion Blaylock: No, not really. I do it because I’m just that kind of person. I don't do Vee DelGotti Blackwell: With so many clubs things to look for something in return. If other club on the SL grid, how do you keep Kemistre alive owners want to come and support, that’s fine, but I and different from the rest? don’t visit their spots for that.

Vee DelGotti Blackwell: How do you balance Kemistre and your personal life? Mr.Javion Blaylock: (lol) Good question. Probably because most of all the important people who are in my circle, family and the special lady in my life, are involved with Kemistre Ent. Vee DelGotti Blackwell: Well that's good, so it's a family dynamic in the staff. Mr. Javion Blaylock: So it’s more like [I have] a personal family oriented business. But [it] don't mean sometimes I don't be in the dog house because sometimes I do work top hard, but hey who doesn't? Vee DelGotti Blackwell: What would be your advice to someone who wants to start a club? Mr. Javion Blaylock: Just have patience and mostly drive. Make sure you doing it for the love, have a purpose. That’s with anything being done. Don't do anything just to do it. Like right now, doing this interview I'm workin’. I have a set at six, you wanna come party with me? Vee DelGotti Blackwell: That would be great! After It was all said and done, I made my way to Kemistre and had the time of my life! The music was nothing short of phenomenal and I felt welcomed by everyone. There was a good mix of single men and women in there and you could tell they were enjoying themselves. If you wanted a drink you could get it and no one could stop dancing! In all fairness it was the perfect party and the atmosphere was very grown and sexy. The next time that you’re looking for a new place to hang out, try Kemistre!

INTERVIEW WITH LUIS LOCKJAW FOUNDER OF ELYSIUM CITY TEMPLEMORE BY SIN REVENGE WITH PHOTOS BY CEREZA CHAN

50 - E N V Y MAGAZINE

VOL. 3.10

Templemore has been a mecca for not only a menagerie of artists, musicians and poets, but also any SL resident with a taste for creatively designed sims. A favorite of the Second Life destination guide, as well as AviChoice nominated, Templemore has always offered a virtual plethora of spaces for photos and relaxation where one can easily get lost in the wonder of it all. The original, Hesperia of Templemore, closed its doors July 2015 to the dismay of many that called it home. Nearly a year later, Luis breathed life back into Templemore with the creation and opening of Elysium City, and it definitely does not disappoint! I was so fortunate to catch up with the extremely busy designer of the sim, Luis Lockjaw, who despite feeling under the weather, agreed to answer a few questions for me. Sɪɴ: After the closing of the original Hesperia, what inspired you to bring Templemore back?

look, the style, and it’s the one that took me the longest to build. I literally sat on a platform looking down at empty space for 3 weeks. I felt I had no clue what I was doing anymore. Sɪɴ: Well, advances in SL meshes & creations surely helped a lot there to bring your vision to life, we've come a long way from prims. Luis Lockjaw: Yes, indeed (lol). Sɪɴ: Did you just begin with one small area and build from there? Or was the whole concept in your head from the start? Luis Lockjaw: Things like this, you never plan, cause it never comes off as you want. You sorta just start doing it, and build as you go. I always lay the streets and imagine builds along the sidewalks.

Luis Lockjaw: (lol) [It] was actually the people Sɪɴ: What is it that you hope residents get [who] convinced me, after I closed, many people out of visiting Templemore? would post their favorite memory at Hesperia and made ME miss it even more. Luis Lockjaw: I want them to be able to experience a story or write one in every scene or area, Sɪɴ: You met the demands of your fans, there’s so much to this sim that some probably right? haven’t seen yet lol, so many hidden areas. There’s a little bit of everything for everyone. Luis Lockjaw: Gosh! It just made me feel good inside, to see so many people and their stories of Sɪɴ: What can residents expect from the Templemore. I was just as Sɪɴ: Probably a few relationships began at busy as I am now when I built this this sim. I do Hesperia too. promise more theme events coming. Luis Lockjaw: Oh yea, lol. Sɪɴ: With the success of Templemore, Hesperia & Elysium, what would you say you are most proud of?

Sɪɴ: Is there anything else you would like to add? Luis Lockjaw: We will be having a theme event at grand opening of a store that great friends own. Can’t give all details yet lol, or what store.

Luis Lockjaw: I love how you put them in order, lol. Templemore will always be my favorite. PARIS JE T’AIME BY SIN REVENGE

62 - E N V Y MAGAZINE

VOL. 3.10

While out exploring different sims, I specifically searched for Parisian themed when I came across Paris Je T'aime. At first, I was a bit puzzled as I landed in front of Kalopsia. I soon discovered that Paris Je T’aime is home to more than just one fabulous store, also residing on this whimsical little sim is Vagabond and evoLove. Walking thru cobblestone streets there are many activities and photographic opportunities. Beautiful buildings among stoic fountains, arched bridges and quaint little shops. The designers of Paris Je T’aime clearly put much time and thought into this project. The entire sim resonates a feel of movement, implementing scenes such as papers blown from a table and swirling leaves; submerging one in the hustle and bustle that could be found in a cozy Parisian community. My favorite spot, where I did park my avatar for quite a while just taking in all the beauty surrounding me, was a little pastry shop. Cafe tables line the front entrance to the fully stocked shop, with added touches as floral bouquets, work bags, books and papers atop the tables among different dining choices. Another noteworthy scene this little sim provides is a vintage, swing style carousel. This uniquely designed ride weathered by time, includes various poses in the seats, allowing one to choose the perfect sit for a photo. Like so many residents of Second Life, when it comes to shopping, I had become so accustomed to simply getting in, getting what I needed and getting back out. Paris Je T'aime has reminded me, sometimes beauty is right there under our own noses, we only need to take the time to realize and enjoy it. I encourage every resident to stop by and enjoy this special little place, as well as hopefully slow our SL pace enough to “smell the roses” at other shopping sims too. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Pont%20Mirabeau/127/65/30

Sarah Tremor, owner and designer of Edelfabrik By Kiett Prince

Guten Tag E N V Y Readers! We are here with none other than the energetic and spry Miss Sarah Tremor the owner, mesh designer and creator of Edelfabr\k! She uses Blender, Photoshop and a little Black Forest magic to bring you original content for all mesh body types! If you didn’t guess it, she’s a German designer! We chat, we visit her store, we exchange horoscope signs and of course, I fan girl all over her! Kiett Prince (KP): *smiles warmly* Yay! Welcome to the E N V Y Magazine headquarters! *turns chair around to face Sarah, pulling out interview recorder* Oh wait Sarah! Is this your creation that you're wearing??? *Sarah is wearing a sexy outfit that reminds Kiett of a

Tokyo inspired street style pink and grey ensemble that Kiett has not seen replicated anywhere in SL! Loving it!* Sarah Tremor (Sarah Tremor): Yes Kiett :) That’s one of my latest :)! KP: *grins* I love it!’

Sarah Tremor:

:) Thank you!

KP: You're so welcome! What is this look? Is this Edgy Punk? Sarah Tremor: Well, most of my creations are slightly provocative in the way of "accidentally sexy", but not without class. And almost any of it is mix and match. KP: Which is super important! I hate not being able to mix and match! Now, the name of your store? *Kiett tries to pronounce it using a German accent* EDELFABRIK Sarah Tremor: laughs at Kiett’s accent....[Adele-fabric] :). KP: Where'd you get the name from? *laughs at herself* Sarah Tremor: Yes, thats a German word, a 2 word combination it means "noble factory" KP: I wasn't too far off track! German! *pats herself on the back* Are you German? Sarah Tremor: Yeah, I am German. *laughs* KP: Guten! I love my Germans! I think in your style, it is very modern German and street style Tokyo to me - very sexy, very creative and unique!
