What is Corporate Partnership? CORPORATE PARTNERSHIP IS A FUNDAMENTAL PART OF THE ENTREPRENEURS’ FORUM’S STRATEGY. IT IS A SECTOR EXCLUSIVE RELATIONSHIP WHICH BRINGS TOGETHER BUSINESS LEADERS FROM SOME OF THE REGION’S MOST HIGH PROFILE COMPANIES WITH SUCCESSFUL ENTREPRENEURS. Who are Corporate Partners? They are some of the North East’s most influential businesses and organisations that care about the North East and the people that live here; not least their own employees.
Together with the Forum, they host joint events to communicate the goods and services they provide to the North East entrepreneurial community.
They share the Forum’s ambition to make the North East stronger and they know the Forum is making a positive contribution to its economic development by bringing together entrepreneurs and business leaders.
They offer business critical research, along with their latest news and views to entrepreneurial leaders and actively take part in the mentoring of our members to the benefit of both parties.
The Entrepreneurs’ Forum works with each partner to ensure we take every opportunity possible to maximise and build a mutually beneficial relationship. Proud to be partnered by:

None of us got to where we are today by ourselves. We all need mentors, friends and advisors to achieve success and we all continue to learn as we continue to grow. Sir Peter Vardy, founder of the Entrepreneurs’ Forum.
About The Entrepreneurs’ Forum FORMED IN 2002, THE ENTREPRENEURS’ FORUM IS A UNIQUE CROSS-SECTOR MEMBERSHIP ORGANISATION ESTABLISHED BY NORTH EAST ENTREPRENEURS FOR NORTH EAST ENTREPRENEURS. Mission: To provide a dynamic entrepreneurial environment that helps entrepreneurs
and business leaders to be inspired, to create connections and to share knowledge that leads to business growth and success.
By gathering the knowledge and experience that exists in the region, we help to channel it to generate future success and growth. The growth of the Forum, which has seen hundreds of entrepreneurs join forces, proves the concept “by entrepreneurs, for entrepreneurs” works superbly well. Membership is open primarily to ambitious entrepreneurs and business leaders who are already trading and working full-time to grow their businesses.
and create the connections to help them grow their organisations and create wealth and jobs. By bringing together business people of the North East we want to help make the North East stronger; because if we don’t help ourselves, no one else will.
We have a proven track record gained over the course of a decade in providing a dynamic and stimulating environment where entrepreneurs can share valuable business knowledge, be inspired
Vision: To make the North East the number one region in the UK for
entrepreneurship and as a result empower the region’s entrepreneurs, both existing and future, to generate businesses, jobs and wealth to the benefit of the North East economy.
Our Strategy Providing a dynamic entrepreneurial environment that helps entrepreneurs and business leaders to be inspired, to create connections and to share knowledge that leads to business growth and success.
The North East’s Challenge THE NORTH EAST CURRENTLY HAS THE LOWEST NUMBER OF PRIVATE SECTOR BUSINESSES PER 10K ADULTS AND THE HIGHEST RATE OF UNEMPLOYMENT IN THE UK. The opportunity: To build and help businesses grow across the region. Growing businesses will help create the new and better jobs we need, bringing employment levels in line with the UK average. Through entrepreneurship, apprenticeships and by attracting people to the region to show them the opportunities, we can make the North East a better place to live and work for everyone… we’re stronger together.
Working with those who have the knowledge and experience of building and growing successful enterprises will help us create the ethos, values and culture that will inspire a new generation of entrepreneurs. Judith Doyle, Gateshead College principal

Together we can take on the world THE ENTREPRENEURS’ FORUM REPRESENTS ALL SECTORS ACROSS THE NORTH EAST. We are a unique organisation. The only one of our kind providing inspiration and a helping hand to entrepreneurs and owner-managers in the region.
Today we have over 300 individual entrepreneur members creating wealth and jobs, employing over 23,000 people and with a combined annual turnover of more than £2.3bn. …and why are small (<50 employees) and medium (<250 employees) sized businesses so important, because 66% of all employment in the UK is supported by SMEs.
If the Entrepreneurs’ Forum could be replicated across the country we would have a stunning economy. What a dynamic group. Sir Justin Urquhart Stewart, Seven Investment Management.

Nigel Mills, chairman
“There is only one constant in business and that is change. We cannot be expected to know all the answers all of the time, however within our own businesses our teams often believe and expect us to do just that. The Entrepreneurs’ Forum exists to help fellow entrepreneurs grow their businesses by learning from each other. The Forum has proved invaluable to me over the years to help me successfully build and grow my various business interests.”

“I accepted the invitation to join the board of the Forum as I reckon it’s payback time for all the support and encouragement its members have given me over the past few years – some of which haven’t been easy. It is good to know we are not alone.”
“The Entrepreneurs’ Forum is an integral part of the North East business community but is in no way typical of a business support organisation. It’s so important for the future of our region that we continue to foster entrepreneurship, encourage people to start and develop businesses and to retain our best talent - that is what the Entrepreneurs’ Forum aims to achieve.”

Pamela spent 30 years at Ebac, joining the family business in 1986. As managing director between 2004 and 2015, Pamela was passionate about great British manufacturing, and was instrumental in adding the UK’s only British manufactured washing machines to the company’s portfolio. Using her many years of experience her latest venture helps small businesses to reach their potential.
“I value the Forum as it provides the ideal platform for like-minded individuals to talk peer to peer about ideas and opportunities to develop their business. The North East’s most important priority is new jobs. The best way to create these is by growing private sector businesses, hence the need for the Entrepreneurs’ Forum’s vital work.”
“I’ve been a Forum member for many years and throughout that period the Forum has been a pivotal North East organisation that has not only inspired me to go that extra mile, but a platform that has enabled me to discuss the wider business ‘ups and downs’ with other entrepreneurial individuals; an invaluable asset in the North East not to be taken lightly.”
“Supporting local business is rewarding because investing in them and helping to remove barriers to growth such as access to finance, skills and promoting best practise generally leads to increased productivity and competitiveness, which is fantastic for the North East and UK economy. There’s a huge amount of pride in the North East and this creates an environment for selfperpetuating growth.”

John is well known in the North East for a career that has seen him launch over 20 radio stations across the UK including Smooth, Real and Century. He’s also a hugely successful entrepreneur in his own right, recently raising £20m from the City for a new business call TEAMROCK. On top of that, he runs Myers Media.
“I value the opportunity to meet all members, help others grow their business, create connections and fly the flag for one of the North’s most active entrepreneurial organisations. Running and growing a business can be incredibly lonely and ‘you don’t know what you don’t know’, so having the Forum as a critical friend in a time of need is one of the best investments any business could make.”
