Departing from the floating mooring, your journey will start when your ship follows the historic Thames Estuary past the park and domed Royal Observatory at Greenwich and through a series of sinuous curves toward the North Sea. The shining half domes of the Thames Barrier can be raised to create a seawall protecting London from tidal surges. Your Expedition Team members will be on deck and in lounges to interpret the passing scenery. This is one of Europe’s busiest and most historic waterways, with over 760 known shipwrecks and a dizzying array of lights and signals

After a day at sea you will experience the unique feature of fjords cruising which is the hours-long panorama of scenic beauty and points of interest that unfurls on either side of your ship. Quaint villages nestle on shore and tiny farms cling impossibly to mountainsides. Waterfalls tinsel the slopes, frequently frozen into bizarre sculptural artforms. Your Expedition Team members will be around to interpret the scenes, answer questions or just to chat.
