KARDOMAH 94, HU1 2AN TICKETS: FREE. BOOKING REQUIRED Join us at the Heads Up Festival launch to find out more about what’s in store this season and celebrate the 10th anniversary of producers E52. With previews, short film screenings, surprise guests, DJs and dancing, as well as a celebration of a decade of E52’s work, this season’s launch party looks set to be a memorable, must-attend occasion. PALE BLUE DOT FRIDAY OCTOBER 13, 8PM. KARDOMAH 94, HU1 2AN TICKETS: £5 The first public showing of E52’s new work for 2018. All cities on Earth have disappeared after the ecodisaster that humankind brought upon itself. Only Aiko remains and is travelling this hostile environment via a makeshift boat. A production that merges live performance with the world of comic books, with illustrations by Gareth Sleightholme. THE BALLAD OF PARAGON STATION SATURDAY OCTOBER 14, 8PM. KARDOMAH 94, HU1 2AN TICKETS: £5 Hester Ullyart’s debut play is a collaboration with rising star of photography Jessica Mahaffey. Inspired by Dylan Thomas’s ‘Under Milk Wood’ and Nan Goldin’s ‘The Ballad of Sexual Dependency’, Ullyart and Mahaffey chronicle the lives of four characters, exploring a generation’s struggle for identity, intimacy and escape in modern Britain. HUMBA RUMBA MONDAY OCTOBER 16, 8PM. KARDOMAH 94, HU1 2AN TICKETS: £6/£3. PAY ON THE DOOR No dance experience is required to join Humba Rumba’s social salsa class at their regular city centre venue with a great vibe. No partner is required and two left feet are welcome. Also, there’s no need to book in advance for this great night.

KARDOMAH 94, HU1 2AN TICKETS: £8 Hollywood actor Vincent Regan talks about his background in the arts and the film that has influenced his creativity and career. Followed by screening of the film, which will be revealed on the night. WOMEN OF WORDS WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 18, 7PM. KARDOMAH 94, HU1 2AN TICKETS: £5. PAY ON THE DOOR Through poetry readings and light-hearted literary fun, Women of Words - Vicky Foster, Lynda Harrison, Julie Corbett, Cassandra Parkin and Michelle Dee - explore the role music plays in their writing. MOTOR PRESENTS ROSS & RACHEL THURS OCTOBER 19, 7PM AND FRI OCTOBER 20, 8PM RIVERSIDE THEATRE, HULL COLLEGE TICKETS: £10/£8 Look at all those couples. Which one will leave? Which one will run? Where have all the playgrounds gone? Join the team of Almost Always Muddy in their Junk Yard playground of treasures and build them a place to tell their story. An immersive story telling experience. Recommended age 5+ KID CARPET’S SUPER MEGA ROCKIN’ ROCK SHOW SATURDAY OCTOBER 21, 2.30PM KARDOMAH 94, HU1 2AN TICKETS: £5 An interactive rock show for all the family! Kid Carpet performs songs while inviting the audience to play ping pong, catch a lost sandwich in space and take part in a grand dance contest.

A HEADY MIX OF THE MOST EXCITING AND CHALLENGING THEATRE AND PERFORMANCE ABOUT HEADS UP FESTIVAL AND BAC Hull-based company E52 in conjunction with renowned Battersea Arts Centre present some of the most exciting contemporary British and international theatre at venues throughout the city of Hull. The festival takes place twice a year with work including new productions, scratch events, workshops, school projects, and exhibitions. Described as ‘Britain’s most influential theatre’ by The Guardian, Battersea Arts Centre delivers an extensive programme of activity each year that attracts over 100,000 people.

ABOUT THE COLLABORATIVE TOURING NETWORK The Collaborative Touring Network is a partnership between nine different promoters across the UK, coming together with the joint aim of inspiring an entirely new generation of theatre-goers.
