Spring Book Sale – The Friends of the

Bellingham Public Library are having a Spring Book Sale beginning Thurs., March 3 through Sat., March 5. As usual, there is a large selection of books and media for all ages. Tables are re-stocked continually. Hours are Thurs. & Fri., March 3 & 4 from 10am-6pm. Most items are only $1 both days. The $4 for a bag sale will be 10am-2pm on Sat., March 5. “Frozen in Concrete” – Upper Skagit

Library Foundation presents “Frozen in Concrete” on Sat., March 5 from 1-3pm at the Concrete Theatre (45920 Main St,). Spend an afternoon with the real-life author of the most beloved companion books to Frozen, Barbara Jean Hicks, as she reads from her books. Purchase personalized autographed copies of Ms. Hicks’ books. Sing and dance with Anna and Elsa as they come to life with performers from Emerald Kingdom Parties. Dress up as your favorite character and have your photo taken with Anna and Elsa. Proceeds to benefit a new library building for the Upper Skagit Library District. Bellingham’s 3rd Annual Lumber and Lace Ball – Bellingham’s 3rd Annual Lumber and Lace Ball to benefit the Whatcom Hospice Foundation is Sat., March 5 from 6:30-11:45pm at the Majestic (1027 N. Forest St., Bellingham). This is a semi-formal early 1900s logging and fishing-era themed event. Featuring live music by Hot Damn Scandal, DJ, professional dance instruction, adult beverages, lite appetizers, old-fashioned photos, professional old-time hair-do’s, a 50/50 raffle, and a silent auction. This is a 21+ event. Doors open at 6:30pm for the Beauty Institute to begin hair-do’s, with music at 7:30pm.
