EXPLOITING THE CIRCULAR ECONOMY AS A BASE FOR GREEN ENTREPRENEURSHIP MULTIPLIER EVENT, GREECE

The multiplier event took place in the main conference room of the Municipality of Korydallos, located in Athens, Greece. 21 people attended, with representatives from municipalities, VET centres, VET Trainers, representatives from local authorities and other interested people. The event started at 09:30 (following a short registration period) and had 4 speakers. The Engage project was presented by Drosostalida and the results (research, training programme, good practices, online training material, events etc.). The speciďŹ c results presented and discussed during the event where: a. Survey: Mrs. Tsiortou presented the survey, the methodology and the results. A discussion evolved around the Greek situation of Green Economy and Circular Economy but also on practices implemented by VET and local authorities. The discussion results: little has been done in Greece related to the Circular economy and evidence is scarse. Several municipalities are quite active but in small scale and the situation cannot be compared to the other countries in Europe. b. Training needs: the training needs of trainers was another discussion point where VET Trainers and one VET organisation representative stated: the VET trainers involved in CE training are mostly self taught and motivated by own interests. There is a lack in training material and case studies available to use. c. Case studies: the case studies were presented in short and all participants agreed that they are very helpful in adding them to the training material and circulating them to the general VET public. d. The Engage training course was presented and the curriculum was handed out to the participants. This generated a small discussion on how it can be used in their educational settings. It was agreed that an additional unit would be created (only in Greek) based on the Greek situation of CE and Green economy and information for the training material would be taken from the guests presentations. Drosostalida will create this additional unit.
