Series 1200 Liquid Turbine Meter High Performance Turbine Technology with Dual Output Capabilities in a Single Housing DESCRIPTION: The Daniel Series 1200 Turbine Flowmeter is a volumetric flow metering and transmitting device used extensively in the petroleum industry for the accurate measurement of liquid hydrocarbons. The meter's simple configuration assures higher flow rates, extended flow range and sustained performance capability. This meter is specifically designed for loading rack service where a vital characteristic is repeatability. The primary reason for this superior performance with light hydrocarbons is the Series 1200's lightweight rotor with free spinning, self-cleaning design having flow through ball bearings. For more harsh applications where rough or other matter may be present, upgrade to the stainless steel ball bearing option. For the most severe applications, upgrade to the tungsten carbide bearing option. Flow range does not have to be reduced for fluids with specific gravities as low as 0.5, and the meter maintains linearity on fluids with viscosities up to 4 centistokes. This versatile meter operates in both the horizontal and vertical upflow installations. It features patented expanding hangers to center internals in the body. The standard design includes a flow conditioning plate, which allows a customer to operate without the conventional upstream tube bundled flow straightener. When such a configuration is elected, spool length and flexible hose lengths may be shortened accordingly, especially valuable with vertical loading racks. Daniel Measurement & Control recommends that API recommendations be followed. This meter is designed for use within the guidelines of API Standards, Chapter 5.3, formerly Standard 2534 (The Measurement of Liquid Hydrocarbons by Turbine Meter Systems) and the test procedures of API Standards, Chapter 4 (Prover Systems).
