Behind The Wheel With THE KING (Arthur Prayther)

LEXUS RX 450h Dallas, Texas-As the years go by it’s unbelievable just how much manufacturers have added the quality of their vehicles. One such vehicle is the all new 2013 Lexus RX 450h 5-door SUV with all the trimming and still priced less than $54,000. This new Lexus is powered by a proven 3.5 Liter 24-valve, DOHC V6 with VVT with front electric drive motor with Lexus

Hybrid Drive. Producing 30 miles per gallon in the city an 28 on the highway, this engine is mated to an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission with (ECVTi). Plus electric power rack and pinion steering for further handling enhancements. The new Lexus also has four-wheel power assisted ventilated front and solid rear disc brakes. All this

rolls to the ground on P 235/60R 18” All-Season tires circulating around a set of 18” Aluminum Alloy wheels. It seems like only a few years ago when Lexus introduced the first crossover vehicle and since that time these Hybrid models have set a new standard when it comes to affordable quality in an automobile. Yet the automaker has been able to keep the price down as the quality continues to rise. Inside the new Lexus you see a refreshed interior layout and safety galore this model. Dual advanced front airbags, driver and passenger, knee airbags, front and rear side curtain airbags front and rear seat mounted side airbags to name a few. A 10-way power driver seat and a power tilt and telescopic steering wheel helps make you comfortable complete with adjustable head rest. When it comes to stopping your new Lexus you’ll have just as much fun as taking off. Thanks mainly to four-wheel anti-lock braking system with EBD, BA and vehicle stability controls as

well as smart stop technology. Energy managing crumple zones, side door beams helps to protect you if you are unfortunate enough to be in an accident. Sounds comes from a 12-speaker Premium Audio Package with single DVD/CD player with HD radio with iTunes tagging and navigation system with voice command, backup camera and Lexus Enform screen multimedia display. The vehicle is powered by a 2.5 Liter-four-cylinder DOHC 16V with VVTI and an electric continuous variable transmission. GENERAL MOTORS POISED TO MAKE GREAT RETURN By King Arthur Prayther A King-Size View Houston, Texas-While in town for the 103rd convention of the NCAAP, the executives from General Motors put together a fantastic dinner at Quattro Restaurant inside the Four Season Hotel. Thanks to Jocelyn K. Allen, GM Grassroots and Diversity Communication, the dinner was great plus and allowed those smaller publications like A King-Size View an opportunity to take part in the process. Among the people from GM who were present was Gloria Tostado from the GM South Central Region Communications office in Dallas as well as Vivian Rogers Pickard who’s President GM Foundation Director of Corporate Relations. All very pleasant people to talk with us and we look forward to building a strong working relationship with the big automaker. Certainly Dan Moon is doing a wonderful job of handling the logistics for GM product line at ESI in Dallas. However this

night was for GM to introduce their newly appointed Chief Diversity Officer Ken Barrett. The 28 year Naval Officer is hitting the ground running and we were impressed with his opening remarks. Making it clear inclusive is the word they want to hear a lot of from this newly created position and GM has a good reputation as it relates to the small segment of the market

place. It certainly brings back memories for me when I see the new Malibu and Impala on the road and in the coming edition we will have more news from GM on some of the people who are involved in the designing of these new and exciting products. We must admit this is a great feeling seeing GM in this light and we hope to make the most of it.

In The Love Corner By Stevie T

FED UP WITH LOVE? Hey Houston are you fed up with your love life? If your love life is not what you want and you feel no love life is better than being involved, you are not alone. I received a letter from a young lady, and I say young, she was in her upper twenties. She kept stating that she could not stand men, and that all men are dogs, and she had some pretty choice words and seem to be sticking to her guns. Her way of

dealing with it at this point was to have a stiff drink with her sister and take men out of the equation all together, and everything would be just fine. That maybe OK for the evening, but tomorrow is a new day with new situations. Sometimes not being in a relationship for awhile can help, as sometimes we need to just focus on ourselves, our children and our family. Believe it or not a man or a woman is not

a necessity. It is essential for a normal love life, but not for us to love life. Sometimes our self esteem can be ruined because of some jerk. In her letter she recalled an incident where she talked to a guy over the phone, when they met in a public place which happened to be a club, he acted and talked like he was really into her but later to find out he had blew her off to be with some other female he just met, and did it without remorse in front of her as if she didn’t exist. Has this ever happened to you? I know it’s happened to me so it’s not just men who can be jerks, and I know it can hurt. There will be times that everything goes right with our relationships and quest for love, then with the roses also comes the thorns and you are bound to

Sonny Messiah-Jiles (right) of the Houston Defender shares a word with Vivian Rogers-Pickard of GM get stuck sooner or later. You can’t let one or two bad apples ruin the whole barrel if you know what I mean. And you can’t go into another relationship bringing baggage from a previous one. When you meet someone new you have to give them the benefit of the doubt or it will never make it off the runway and into the air. So I can understand taking a break from time to time to regroup, but you can’t give up and hate all others of the opposite sex. Hmmm... what’s the alternative - sometimes you have the same problems, if you catch my drift. Recently on “In The Love Corner” which you can listen to every Wednesday at 8:00 pm, we talked about why Women cheat? This sensitive subject lead to a very detailed and interesting

extensive conversation. Some of the points to name a few were that some women are just cheaters, some do it for revenge, lack of attention and lack of intimacy just to name a few. JUS’ BLUES MUSIC FOUNDATION HONORS KING-SIZE VIEW PUBLISHER ‘KING’ ARTHUR PRAYTHER By King Arthur Prayther A King-Size View Memphis, Tennessee-On Wednesday August 1st at the Memphis Hilton Hotel the Jus’ Blues Music Foundation will hold their annual “Night of the Living Legends” award ceremonies celebrating Blacks in Blues. This year the group have selected Houston’s A King-Size View publisher (King) Arthur Prayther as the President’s Award winner. couldn’t believe it” said King Arthur. “This is a pleasant surprise to say the least and we are honored to be in the presence of such musical legends”. But for those of you, who know the King, knows he will make the most of the opportunity and bring back interviews to Houston, Texas. After meeting Soul and Blues legend Ernie Johnson in 2007, the King and E J have come together on several projects. The most of which is Johnson and his big nine- piece Hot and Steamy Band doing a series of

tributes to Soul and Blues greats who have gone on to Glory Land. It’s all part of Fiesta Black History Celebration each year in February with the honors done for Johnnie Taylor, Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett, Sam Cooke and Tyrone Davis, with plans of doing more. In addition to that Johnson and the King have also worked together to produce some catchy radio spots for Fiesta. Johnson also has a song “Congratulation Mr. President” praising President Barack Obama for the passing of the Health Care Bill.

Interested parties can go to and click on to Fiesta Festival performances and see one of the latest shows E. J. paying tribute to Tyrone Davis back in February 2012.

Please take a look at some of the photos that kind of gives you an ideal of just how the King has been involved in the community over the years we think it will bring back memories!

The Way I See It

By BIG John Chandler Plain and simple, nothing makes me happier than the end of July. This means dear readers that August begins another football season and hopes and dreams of success fill the hearts of fans all across the fruited plains. Everyone has a deep dream that this is their season; the one that they have waited for all their lives. By the first of February, January and December, pro, college and high school fans will watch someone else celebrate and the tears of disappointment will occupy the faces of everyone. Then the long, hard off season and the wait to August begins. But our August is here and happiness is seen on football fans everywhere. Reading our pre season magazines hoping to

give our dreams a doze of reality is the talk at water coolers all over the country. I was asked by a fan of the newspaper what I would do to make my team a winner. I told him to read the next edition of A KING SIZE VIEW and I would provide the answer. Now first let me say at each level, the only way to have a possible winner is to have outstanding players, a great coaching staff and a support staff that all have one goal-winning! Now I must add that even having those things may increase your chances of winning but it doesn’t guarantee it. Great teams have failed to win championships. So as stated at the top of this column, here is the way I see it.

A quarterback must be in placeUnlike athletes in key positions in other sports, a quarterback is essential to the success/failure of a team. He is the team leader, a person everyone counts on when the game is on the line and a big play is needed to win. The coach counts on him to keep everyone focused on the job at hand and his leadership is the main key towards winning. A defensive leader: middle linebacker-Simply put this is the physical leader of the team. He takes a lot of punishment but gives even more. He is always hurt, but he never leaves the field. He yells at the defense and offense players. He is a coach on the field, in the sideline and in the locker room. A middle linebacker asks for no sympathy and he gives none. A receiver that makes big/small plays-A great receiver has two

simple roles; make the big catch every game and yet make the simple catch that doesn’t make a lot of conversations but when you look at the film those catches paid dividends that help seal the win. He must make key blocks to help secure first downs and he must bail out his quarterback when the pass rush is about to wreck havoc on the offense. A defensive end that seeks and destroys the quarterback-A great defensive end has only one role; rush the pocket and sack the quarterback. He must attack, attack, attack all the time. He must be relentless and simply put a very mean man. He may be pound for pound the best conditioned athlete on the team. A kicker with no nerves-Watch the loneliest player on the team as he sits and waits until his name is called. He practices with the holder by himself. He must be relaxed ready to contribute when asked. The weather conditions could be sunny, rainy, and cold with snow and or biting with gusty wind. Sometimes the kicker must kick with the game on the line. He must produce when he is called. The clock is about to strike zero. The kick is in the air……..

A head coach that pushes the right buttons-A head coach must be leader, teacher, parent and enforcer along with other roles all into one. He doesn’t sleep for several months at a time, must be careful regarding is diet and be very careful with his health. He must trust his assistant coaches to develop a top game plan implement it and be prepared to make changes when everything is going wrong. He must be able to go with his hunches when everyone warns him it won’t work. He must know which players to trust and replace –players that aren’t producing. He must face the public and accept the criticisms for failures and be humble after wins. He must have that fire in his belly to wake up the nest day, ready to compete. Trust me there be more to add to this list. As I stated earlier, nothing is guaranteed for success but if none of the listed items are present and this one is not there, the desire to win, then it won’t and I repeat won’t happen. Give me a team that all want to win and work hard at everything they do, they’ll win. Maybe not on the field, but in life itself. I’ll take life winners every time. That’s just the way I see it!

ATHLETE OF THE WEEK ALEXANDER BROWN-BTW-LAMAR UNIVERSITY By King Arthur Prayther A King-Size View Beaumont, Texas-Graduating number 42 in a class of 179, Alexander Brown didn’t sit and wait to be given a scholarship; he went down to Beaumont’s Lamar University and walked on to the team. The talented offensive lineman was a four year varsity player at Booker T. Washington High School and one of his high lights was to beat Jack Yates in the 7th Annual Fiesta Booker-Bryant Memorial Classic 14-13. Brown said it was tough those first three years when they lost to Jack Yates. “We kind of thought we could have beaten them my junior year but it didn’t work out but as seniors we really felt we

were going to win that game. The mild-manner young man is the son of Sharon Peavy and Nelson Brown and says having the Peavy name simply means a little pressure. “Well I wanted to make sure I lived up to the name and worked hard and will continue to do so”. When asked if he would do anything different in life if given an opportunity to start over he replied, “No sir; I feel I’ve done pretty good and I’m excited to win the Fiesta Booker-Bryant Memorial Classic Scholarship because it can help me get in school and take some of the load off my parents”. We moved on to ask what it means to have our first African

American president. “When Mr. Obama won it showed that blacks can be whatever they want to be in life if we work hard at it”. Brown who knew a coach and a former Booker T. Washington players at Lamar, that helped him make his mind up. But he also liked the campus and the fresh start of the program and a chance to grow with them. Having played varsity since the 9th grade at Washington, he knows what it’s like to start from scratch. “I love the campus and the city because I truly like the small town country like setting Lamar

English was his favorite subject at Washington but he plans to major in Accounting because of his love for the classes he took at Washington and he feels it challenging also. Poetry gets the big guy’s attention as well and he says he and his friends workout and have some good times doing things together.

If he could change anything he says his senior year at BTW he felt the fans support wasn’t what he thought it could have been. “I’d say we were probably at a seven and I felt there could have been more of an effort to get our student body more into our games”. He added everyone was very excited about going into the Jack Yates game and felt the Eagles had a chance to win.

Moving to Beaumont next month Brown says he going to miss his usher job at South Union Missionary Baptist Church but he says what he learned in the services will

In closing Brown said he would like to have his own sports apparel store so he could give back to the community!

Out and About with John Engel Throughout time our troops have sought the comforts of home while on the battlefield. During the Civil War soldiers on both sides carried hardtack (a brittle biscuit with little taste) which was easy to carry and served as quick nutrition. During World War I our troops survived on Reserve Rations. In 1941 Krations were introduced. Made from crackers, hard sausage and candy bars these meals provided nutrition and calories but little else. In the early 1980’s our troops were given the MRE or Meals, Ready to Eat. None of these meals were particularly appetizing but they did provide the basics of nutrition. During World War II, Korea and Viet Nam soldiers looked forward to goodies sent from home. In some cases they were rewarded with homemade cookies or other goodies provided by their loved ones. Often by the time the treats were received they had deteriorated to the point that they were unable to be eaten and had to be tossed. Our fighting men today have much different conditions. The heat of the dessert, insects, and mobility issues create the need for a different type of reward. Fortunately there are many ready to serve snacks available packaged and easy to carry. Unfortunately, there is not always available. Someone to send the goodies to them. Operation Lone Star-Texans Supporting Our Troops is one of several organizations that are determined to bring a little home to the troops as they serve in a foreign and hostile atmosphere. Founded by Jim Conley, Operation Lone Star-Texans Supporting Our Troops is dedicated to remembering our troops and the sacrifice that they make for us every day. (Quoted form the Operation Lone

Star-Texans Supporting Our Troops web site) Unfortunately, in this 10th anniversary year of the terrorist attacks of September 11, many Americans have forgotten our brave heroes who paid the ultimate price as well as those who are still fighting the Taliban, Al Qaida, and other terrorists around the world. These men and women should never be forgotten. We’ve praised the Greatest Generation of World War II. We’ve finally recognized the veterans of Korea, otherwise known as the Forgotten War, and those honorable men and women of the Vietnam War who chose to stand for their flag rather than flee like cowards to another country. This generation of Warriors is different. They are all volunteers. They enlisted because it was the right thing to do. They are heroes in the truest sense of the word. I spent a week with my son before his unit, the 2nd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, deployed to Iraq in 2007. I had the honor and pleasure of meeting his Marine buddies, a fine group of young men. All volunteers. All eager to do what they had been training for. In spite of the risks involved, and the sacrifice of being away from their families, I didn’t hear a single one say he didn’t want to go. Seven months after coming home, having lost several members of their battalion in Iraq, 2/7 deployed to Afghanistan. I again spent the week before the deployment with my son and his Marine brothers. As they were waiting for hours at the staging area I heard not a single one say he didn’t want to go. For some this was their second, third, and fourth deployments. Obviously they’d rather be home with their families, but they took a solemn oath to defend the country they love. My daughter deployed to Iraq with the Army’s 810th Military Police Company in 2009. As with my son, I spent several days with her prior to the deployment. I met her buddies, non-commissioned officers, and her commanding officer. They were ready to do their job. No complaints. No arguing. They were ready.

Sandy, Operation Lone StarTexans Supporting Our Troops’s Secretary/Treasurer has had the same experiences. Her son, a Marine sergeant, also deployed to Iraq in 2009. She saw that same willingness to do what was right, to do what needed to be done. Her daughter-in-law, also a Marine sergeant, is currently deployed aboard USS Kearsarge off the coast of Libya. She and her unit were ready to go. A few months after her return, Sandy’s son will deploy to Afghanistan. Watching our loved ones, which includes their buddies who are now also our sons and daughters, board those buses and drive away is the hardest thing we’ve ever had to do. But because we love and support our heroes, we’ll be there again if necessary. We have to do whatever it takes to make our friends and neighbors remember these True Americans, the hearts and souls of our country. Today’s warriors have been described as the best our country has to offer. Let’s keep them, and the military personnel serving all over the world, in the hearts and minds of everyone in this great country of ours. Let’s fly those flags, attend ceremonies, and donate to causes such as Operation Lone StarTexans Supporting Our Troops and other military support organizations who provide much needed support for our troops. What is Operation Lone StarTexans Supporting Our Troops doing to help? Suring a recent talk with Secretary Sandy Alexander, she explained that they are attempting to provide our troops with as many luxury items as possible. By that she means trail mix, DVDs, beef

jerky, reading material, powdered drink mix and clean socks. As small as these items seem to us they mean a lot to a soldier in the dessert or on a ship in a war zone. As we wind down our efforts in Iraq, there are still thousands of troops in Afghanistan that need some love from home. In order to achieve these goals Operation Lone Star-Texans Supporting Our Troops raises awareness at events such as the annual “Impact a Hero” run and walk. They will also be at the Houston Hot Sauce Festival that will be held in Stafford on September 15th and 16th. What is most needed are donations of the items listed above as well as other ready to serve food items (fruit cups, snack bars packaged nuts and items that do not require refrigeration or preparation). They can also use baseballs; cool down collars and toiletry items. (Please note that any literature or video items must be family friendly due to Government regulations and the protocols set by the foreign governments where our troops are serving.)

Also needed, of course, is the financial assistance needed to mail these items to our troops. Our government does not provide postage or shipping for these groups. According to Sandy, even unused gift cards can be donated. Wal Mart and other grocery cards can be used to make purchases of needed items. Another suggestion is to hold an Operation Lone Star-Texans Supporting Our Troops drive at your school or workplace instead of the gift exchange that nobody really wants. With Thanksgiving coming up in a couple of months, giving thanks for our fighting men and women is a great way to celebrate. If you want more information about Operation Lone StarTexans Supporting Our Troops or wish to get involved visit their web site at m. There you can see photos of fund raising activities, our troops that have received packages from this group, and learn how you can help honor our fallen heroes.

JAMESPAUL BRYANT-YATES-P.V. STUDENT OF THE WEEK As we end one school year and begin another we have a very special young man to profile in this Fiesta Student of the Week. He’s Jamespaul Tristian Bryant who just finished from Jack Yates as Mr. Yates. Bryant finished with a 3.3 grade point average and number 30 in a class of 246 as a graduating senior. “It was an honor to serve as Mr. Yates and to have the other students at our school look up to me”. The mild mannered young man went on to say he felt using the knowledge taught to him by his parents and it played a big role in his life. “They taught me to do what I’m supposed to do when you suppose to do it and things have a way of working out with God’s help”. The handsome lad is the son Scherra and Tim Bryant and is the grandson of the legendary James “Bear”Bryant who led the Booker T. Washington Eagles to

the state semi-final in 1968, becoming the first predominately black high school to do so in the University Interscholastic League. He is also the Bryant in the Fiesta Booker-Bryant Memorial Classic which is scheduled to be played on October 26, 2012 this year. Jamespaul went on to say he is inspired when he played in the game the past three years knowing the game honors his grandfather. We also learned that it was Bear Bryant who named Jamespaul and the legend lives on. Fact is his older brother Tim Bryant is Mr. Prairie View and his younger brother Titus started as a freshman at Jack Yates and is figured to be one of the best lineman of all-times before he is done. Word is Jamespaul plans to walk-on at P.V. this fall; the talented athlete was expected to play receiver at Yates because

his great catching ability he had while playing with the Studewood Cobras, but once the Yates coaches saw him on defense they kept him at linebacker and defensive end. He went on to lead the Lions in sacks the past two years.

Charlotte Kelly-Bryant) with teaming up with his parents to make sure he stays on the straight and narrow path. “They made it clear to me a long time ago that when you work hard and follow God’s word things have a way of working out”.

In the classroom at Yates Jamespaul favorite subject was English and enjoys writing and going on-line doing research on sporting events. But at P.V. he plans to major in Education and Human Performance and later even become a coach.

When asked if he would change anything at Jack Yates if given an opportunity to be principal he stated “No Sir; I think Miss Sheppard is doing a wonderful job and students are coming to class at a much larger rate now and Yates is certainly in good hands”. Sheppard is the first female to head at the historic high school in Third Ward.

On the field Bryant is inspired by Adrian Hamilton who led the Panthers in sacks the past two years and signed a free agent contract with the Dallas Cowboys. “I plan to work hard and get a spot on this team and with the Lord’s help I would like to follow in Hamilton’s footsteps and play on the next level”. On Sundays you’’ find the Bryant family over at Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church where Jamespaul is an Eagle Scout and a member of the chapel choir. Crediting his grandmother (Mrs.

His thoughts of President Barack Obama are clear as it is very inspirational to see the first African American President. “It shows that we can actually hold that office and I think the President is doing a very good job and fully expect him to be re-elected for a second term”. In closing Jamespaul considers himself a man of God and is very determined to live a good life and showing a high standard

of character. We agree with him because that’s just the way we see him. By the way Jamespaul T. Bryant is the winner of this year’s Fiesta Booker-Bryant Memorial Classic Scholarship.

LABOR DAY CLASSIC PITS TSU VS PV CHEERLEADERS In one of the biggest battles in a football game is the way in which the cheerleaders battle all game long. Fact is the TSU Lady Tigers cheerleaders are one of the best in the country at getting their fans into their games. While the Lady Panthers cheerleaders from P.V. are just as good, so anytime the two teams meet sparks fly. The competition is from horn to horn and they never stop. EDITORIAL - ARE HISTORICALLY BLACK UNIVERSITIES ADMINISTRATORS LOSING CARING INSTINCTS? Houston, Texas-In these days of troubled times, one has to wonder if the historically black universities Administrators are losing their caring instincts? Fact is the black university is special and those of us who follow them closely are confused to say the least. There was a time when we put our best foot forward and went out of our way to make sure we did the best when we faced the public. But now it would appear it’s about who’s in my little circle I can employ and make life better for my cousins, despite the fact someone else was much more qualified for the position. Case and point would be the historically black universities are having all kind of problems as it relates to NCAA rules and regulations. Is it that they are not hiring good compliance officers or is that they simply are showing a disregard for the rules set by the NCAA? Every time you look at the sport news you hear about another black school with a low graduation rates and our students are simply not making the cut.

scraped and simply do not have funds to recruit good student athletes? These are some of the excuses made by officials of these universities but every time you see them in the newspaper they are receiving another check and yet no one ever sees what these grants and donations are supposed to be doing. Fact is it’s time for our black universities to get their act together and educate our children the way they once did. Money is no longer an excuse when you take a look at the budgets of these schools. Wasteful spending is a big part of the problem and no matter how many different coaches and administrators they put in place the problem still remain the same.

Could we fall for the excuse they say they are financially

Part of the problem could be major corporations simply write checks to these universities

There use to be a time when the black university produced quality people who went out and made a position impact on their communities. Ask yourself when was the last time you saw a good solid black college graduate making a positive impact in their community?

without following up to see just where those funds are going. Fact is in the past the corporations would assign someone to watch over the funds they donated so that it went into the programs they wanted it to. In order to help solve this problem those same corporations are going to have to get back to watching what they give and

how it is used so that it will help get our youth a fair chance at getting a quality education. For too long we have read about scandal after scandal at our historically black universities and it’s clearly time for them to clean out their act. In laymen terms they simply need to shape out or ship out.

Getting back to caring for the university and its students as well as their athletes is what it’s going to take to get back on track. Or could it really be that due to the lack of caring instincts by administrators, the black university is losing its usefulness?

WHAT IS TRUTH? EYE FOR EYE Dear reader, we are again so thankful for the opportunity to share with you some SCRIPTURAL TRUTHS. Again we thank Mr. Prayther and staff, and of course Fiesta for allowing us this opportunity. There are MANY professing Christianity, “followers of Christ”. If this is true, then this is GOOD. But we MUST remember the words of the Lord and savior Jesus Christ, how that He said; “Matt 7:13 Enter ye in at the (1)strait gate: for (2)wide is the gate, and (3)broad is the (4)way, that leadeth to (5)destruction, and (6)many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and (7)narrow is the (8)way, which leadeth unto life, and (9)few there be (10)that find it. 15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.” (see also Matt.7:16-28; 20:16 and 22:14; Luke13:24-28; 1Pet.3:2022; 2Pet.2:1-7).

Definitions: (1)Enter ye in at the strait gate-4728 stenos (sten-os’); probably from the base of 2476; narrow (from obstacles standing close about): KJV— strait. (2)for wide is the gate-4113 plateia (plat-i’-ah); feminine of 4116; a wide “plat” or “place”, i.e. open square: KJV— street. (3)and broad2149 euruchoros (yoo-roo’-khoros); from eurus (wide) and 5561; spacious: KJV— broad. (4)is the way 3598 hodos (hodos’); apparently a primary word; a road; by implication a progress (the route, act or distance); figuratively, a mode or means, 2) metaphorically: a) a course of conduct b) a way (that is, manner) of thinking, feeling, deciding: KJV— journey, (high-) way. (5)that leadeth to destruction684 apoleia (ap-o’-li-a);from a presumed derivative of 622; ruin or loss (physical, spiritual or eternal), b) the destruction which consists of eternal misery in hell: KJV— damnable (-nation), destruction, die, perdition, X perish, pernicious ways, waste. (6)and many there be which go in thereat-4183 polus (poloos’);including the forms from the alternate pollos; (singular) much (in any respect) or (plural) many; neuter (singular) as adverbial, largely; neuter (plural) as adverb or noun often, mostly, largely: KJV— abundant, common, many, much, plenteous. Compare 4118, 4119. (7)and narrow-2346 thlibo (thlee’bo);akin to the base of 5147; to crowd (literally or figuratively), 1) to press (as grapes), to press hard upon 2) a compressed way, narrow straitened, contracted , to distress: KJV— afflict, narrow, throng, suffer tribulation, trou-

ble. (8)is the way, which leadeth unto life-3598 hodos (hod-os’); apparently a primary word; a road; by implication a progress (the route, act or distance); figuratively, a mode or means, 2) metaphorically: a) a course of conduct b) a way (that is, manner) of thinking, feeling, deciding: KJV— journey, (high-) way. (9)and few there be-3641 oligos-little, small, few a) used of number: multitude, quantity, or size (10)that find it-2147 heurisko (hyoo-ris’-ko); a prolonged form of a primary heuro (hyoo’-ro); which (together with another cognate form heureo (hyoo-reh’-o)) is used for it in all the tenses except the present and imperfect; to find (literally or figuratively): KJV— find, get, obtain, perceive, see. Now after reading, understanding, and accepting the WORDS of the Lord and Savior JESUS CHRIST; it is NOT the MANY but the FEW. This study, as all are, is for SELF CHECKING according to the WORD; for there be few that are willing to live a 24/7, SELF-DENYING, Christian lifestyle. So, in Christianity the old saying “the majority rules” doesn’t apply. The Word of TRUTH RULES, and there be FEW that accept IT. Contrary to what seems to be the belief that living a Christian life is easy, according to Christ this is not true; because it is a suffering lifestyle of denying our secular wants, fun, pleasures etc. This is why we believe according to the Word, that the words “Christian” and “Christianity” are the most miss-applied words on earth. It was not easy for Christ, or for those that followed him. He lived a suffering, self denying lifestyle while here, that ended most cruelly on the cross, for our sake. Beware of false teachers in sheep’s clothing, which teach “Christ suffered for us, we don’t have to, and all we have to do is believe”. Christ speaks to the contrary, for DEVILS BELIEVES and trembles (James2:17-26), but they WILL NOT OBEY, which takes us into this study: IF AY MA WILL COME AFTER ME, LET HIM DEY HIMSELF Matt 16:21 From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day. 22 Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee. 23 But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me,

Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men. 24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. 25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. 26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? 27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works. (KJV)

Matt 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will (1)come (2)after me, (3)let him deny himself, and take up his (4)cross, and (5)follow me. (KJV) Definitions: (1)come-2064 erchomai-1) to come; used of persons: 1) to come from one place to another, and used both of persons arriving 3) to go, to follow one. (2)after me-3694 opiso (op-is’-o); from the same as 3693 with enclitic of direction; to the back, i.e. aback (as adverb or preposition of time or place; or as noun): KJV— after, back (-ward), (+get) behind, + follow. (3)let him deny himself-533 aparneomai (ap-arneh’-om-ahee); from 575 and 720; to deny utterly, i.e. disown, abstain, a) to affirm that one has no acquaintance or connection with someone b) to forget oneself, lose sight of oneself and one’s own interests: KJV— deny.720 arneomai-b) to act entirely unlike himself 3) to deny, abnegate, abjure 4) not to accept, to reject, to refuse something offered. (4)take up his cross-4716 stauros (stow-ros’); from the base of 2476; a stake or post (as set upright), i.e. (specifically) a pole or cross (as an instrument of capital punishment); figuratively, exposure to death, i.e. self-denial: KJV— cross. (5)follow me-190 akoloutheo (ak-ol-oo-theh’-o); from 1 (as a particle of union) and keleuthos (a road); properly, to be in the same way with, i.e. to accompany (specially, as a disciple), 1) to follow one who precedes, join him as his attendant, accompany him 2) to join one as a disciple, become or be his disciple: to side with his party: KJV— follow, reach. Matt 16:24 ... If any man will come after me, (KJV) Matt 10:32 Whosoever therefore shall (1)confess me before

men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. 33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven. 34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. 35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. 36 And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household. 37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. 38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. 39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it. (KJV) Definition: (1)confess me before men-3670 homologeo (hom-ol-og-eh’-o);from a compound of the base of 3674 and 3056; to assent, i.e. covenant, acknowledge, 1) to say the same thing as another, that is, to agree with, to assent 2) to concede a) not to refuse, to promise b) not to deny a) to declare openly, to speak out freely b) to profess oneself the worshiper of one 4) to praise, to celebrate: KJV— con- (pro-) fess, confession is made, give thanks, promise.

Mark 8:31 And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again. 32 And he spake that saying openly. And Peter took him, and began to rebuke him. 33 But when he had turned about and looked on his disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men. 34 And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. 35 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it. 36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? 37 Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? 38 Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.

Mark 10:17 And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life? 18 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God. 19 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother. 20 And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth. 21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me. 22 And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions. 23 And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! 24 And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God! 25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. 26 And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved? 27 And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible. 28 Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee. 29 And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s, 30 But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life. 31 But many that are first shall be last; and the last first. (KJV) Luke 9:22 Saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day. 23 And he said to them all, If any man will (1)come (2)after me, (3)let him deny himself, and take up his (4)cross daily, and (5)follow me.

WHAT IS TRUTH? EYE FOR EYE 24 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. 25 For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away? 26 For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father’s, and of the holy angels. John 17:16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 17 (1)Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. 18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. 19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth. 20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me (2)through their word; 21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. Definitions: (1)Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth-37 hagiazo (hag-ee-ad’zo); from 40; to make holy, i.e. (ceremonially) purify or consecrate; (mentally) to venerate, 2) to separate from profane things and to dedicate to God b) to dedicate people to God c) to purify internally by a renewing of the soul: KJV— hallow, be holy, sanctify. (KJV)

Col 1:9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11 Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; 12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: 13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: 15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: 16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. 19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell; 20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. 21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled 22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: 23 If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister; 24 Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body’s sake, which is the church: 25 Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God; 26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: 27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you,

the hope of glory: 28 Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus: 29 Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.(KJV)

1Thes 3:1 Wherefore when we could no longer forbear, we thought it good to be left at Athens alone; 2 And sent Timotheus, our brother, and minister of God, and our fellowlabourer in the gospel of Christ, to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your faith: 3 That no man should be moved by these afflictions: for yourselves know that we are appointed thereunto. 4 For verily, when we were with you, we told you before that we should suffer tribulation; even as it came to pass, and ye know. 5 For this cause, when I could no longer forbear, I sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter have tempted you, and our labour be in vain. 6 But now when Timotheus came from you unto us, and brought us good tidings of your faith and charity, and that ye have good remembrance of us always, desiring greatly to see us, as we also to see you: 7 Therefore, brethren, we were comforted over you in all our affliction and distress by your faith: 8 For now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord. 9 For what thanks can we render to God again for you, for all the joy wherewith we joy for your sakes before our God; 10 Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith? 11 Now God himself and our Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way unto you. 12 And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you: 13 To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints. 2 Tim 3:10 But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience, 11 Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me. 12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. 13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. 14 But continue thou in the things which thou

hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; 15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. (KJV)

Heb 7:22 By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament. 23 And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death: 24 But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood. 25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. 26 For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, (1)separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; (KJV) Definition: (1)separate from sinners 5563 chorizo (kho-rid’zo); from 5561; to place room between, i.e. part; reflexively, to go away, to separate, to divide, to part, to put asunder, to separate oneself from, to depart: KJV— depart, put asunder, separate. Heb 11:23 By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king’s commandment. 24 By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter; 25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; 26 Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward. 27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible. (KJV) Matt 16:24 ... and take up his cross, (KJV) Matt 5:38 Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: 39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

WHAT IS TRUTH? EYE FOR EYE 40 And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also. 41 And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain. 42 Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away. 43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. 44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; 45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? 47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? 48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.(see also Luke6:27-36 and 23:33-37; Acts7:57-60; Rom.12:14-21; 1Cor.4:12-14 and 13:3-8; 1Pet.2:18-25 and 3:9) John 12:23 And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified. 24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. 25 (1)He that loveth his life shall lose it; and (2)he that hateth his life in this (3)world shall keep it unto life eternal. 26 If any man serve me, (4)let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.(KJV) Definitions: (1)He that loveth his life shall lose it-5368 phileo (fil-eh’-o);from 5384; to be a friend to (fond of [an individual or an object]), i.e. have affection for; specifically, to kiss (as a mark of tenderness), 1) to love a) to approve of b) to like c) to sanction d) to treat affectionately or kindly, to welcome, to befriend: KJV— kiss, love. (2)he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal-3404 miseo (mis-eh’o);from a primary misos (hatred); to detest (especially to persecute); by extension, to love less: KJV— hate (-ful). (3)world-2889 kosmos-3) the world, the universe 4) the circle of the earth, the earth 5) the inhabitants of the earth, men, the human race 6) the ungodly multitude; the whole mass of men alienated from God, and there-

fore hostile to the cause of Christ 7) world affairs, the aggregate of things earthly the whole circle of earthly goods, endowments riches, advantages, pleasures, etc., which although hollow and frail and fleeting, stir desire, seduce from God and are obstacles to the cause of Christ. (4)let him follow me-190 akoloutheo (ak-ol-oo-theh’-o); from 1 (as a particle of union) and keleuthos (a road); properly, to be in the same way with, i.e. to accompany (specially, as a disciple), 1) to follow one who precedes, join him as his attendant, accompany him 2) to join one as a disciple, become or be his disciple: to side with his party: KJV— follow, reach. Rom 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: 17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. 18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. (KJV) Phil 1:29 For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake; 30 Having the same conflict which ye saw in me, and now hear to be in me.

Phil 2:1 If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies, 2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. 3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. 4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. 5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. (KJV) Phil 2:14 Do all things without murmurings and disputings: 15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights

in the world; 16 Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain. 17 Yea, and if I be offered upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy, and rejoice with you all. 18 For the same cause also do ye joy, and rejoice with me. 19 But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timotheus shortly unto you, that I also may be of good comfort, when I know your state. 20 For I have no man likeminded, who will naturally care for your state. 21 For all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ’s. 22 But ye know the proof of him, that, as a son with the father, he hath served with me in the gospel. (KJV)

Phil 3:7 But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. 8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, 9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: 10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; 11 If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. 12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. 13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. 15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you. 16 Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing. 17 Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample. 18 For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the (1)enemies of the (2)cross of Christ: 19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who (3)mind (4)earthly things.) 20 For our (5)conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for

the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: 21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself. (KJV)

(5)For our conversation is in heaven-4175 politeuma (pol-it’-yoo-mah); from 4176; a community, i.e. (abstractly) citizenship (figuratively): KJV— conversation. 4176 politeuomai (pol-it-yoo’om-ahee); middle voice of a derivative of 4177; to behave as a citizen (figuratively): KJV— let conversation be, live. 1Thes 1:5 For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake. 6 And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost: 7 So that ye were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia. 8 For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith

to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing. 9 For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God; 10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come. (KJV)

Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, 12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; 13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; 14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and (1)purify unto himself a (2)peculiar people, (3)zealous of good works. 15 These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee. (KJV) Definitions: (1)purify unto himself-2511 katharizo (kath-ar-id’zo); from 2513; to cleanse (literally or figuratively): KJV— (make) clean (-se), purge, purify. Heb 13:12 Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate. 13 Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach. 14 For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come. 15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. 16 But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. (KJV) James 1:25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

WHAT IS TRUTH? EYE FOR EYE 26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain. 27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself (1)unspotted from the (2)world. (KJV) Definitions: (1)to keep himself unspotted-784 aspilos-1) spotless 2) metaphorically, a) free from censure, irreproachable b) free from vice, unsullied. (2)from the world-2889 kosmos-3) the world, the universe 4) the circle of the earth, the earth 6) the ungodly multitude; the whole mass of men alienated from God, and therefore hostile to the cause of Christ 7) world affairs, the aggregate of things earthly the whole circle of earthly goods, endowments riches, advantages, pleasures, etc., which although hollow and frail and fleeting, stir desire, seduce from God and are obstacles to the cause of Christ 1 Pet 2:19 For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully. 20 For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God. 21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: 22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: 23 Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously: 24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. 25 For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls. (KJV) 1 Pet 4:1 Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; 2 That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God. 3 For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries: 4 Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot,

speaking evil of you: 5 Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead. (KJV)

1 Pet 4:12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: 13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. 14 If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. 15 But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men’s matters. 16 Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. 17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? 18 And if the (1)righteous (2)scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? 19 Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator. (KJV) Definitions: (1)And if the righteous-1342 dikaios (dik’-ahyos); from 1349; equitable (in

1 Pet 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. 10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. 11 To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. (KJV) I Jn 2:15 (1)Love not the (2)world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. 18 Little chil-

dren, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many (3)antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. 19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us. (KJV)

Definitions:(1)Love NOT-25 agapao (ag-ap-ah’-o); perhaps from agan (much) [or compare 5689]; to love (in a social or moral sense), 1) used of persons: to welcome, to entertain, to be fond of, to love dearly 2) used of things: to be well pleased, to be contented at or with a thing: KJV— (be-) love (-ed). from God and are obstacles to the cause of Christ. (3)even now there many antichrists-500 antichristos (an-tee’-khris-tos); from 473 and 5547; an opponent of the Messiah, the adversary of the Messiah: KJV— antichrist.

Dear reader, after reading these instructions given by the Lord for one to be His follower; have we confessed, (praised) Him by applying these things to our lives (true Christians)? Or have we denied Him by OT denying OURSELVES thereby being DISOBEDIENT (antichrists)? Remember the purpose of these articles is to seek the TRUTH according to THE WORD, thereby exposing ERROR, which is false doctrine, for the purpose of saving our souls. We believe this is best done by definitions and the PREPONDERANCE OF SCRIPTURES; which is having superior weight, force, importance, or influence of SCRIPTURE. Again we believe this allows SCRIPTURE to INTERPRET SCRIPTURE, thereby allowing a better understanding on that topic.
