Heavy duty work Satellite XT is a 5-axis CNC machining centre with mobile gantry. Created to ensure “top of the range� productive results, it is able to carry out the even the toughest and most complex processes required by the industry. It is designed for milling, drilling and cutting operations on large sections up to 450x400 mm, with excellent results in terms of rapidity, accuracy and finish.


MULTI-MODE OPERATION

Pendular or Multipiece. Satellite XT is available in three versions of different length (axis X): 7,800, 10,500 and 15,500 mm. For each length, you can choose between the “static pendular mode”, with gantry-positioned vices, and “dynamic pendular mode”, with independently-positioned vices. While the machine is operating in a workspace, in the adjoining area the clamps are positioned automatically to load the new profile to be processed. The machine also lets you operate in various ways to best meet your operational needs. Operating in single piece mode, the whole bar can be processed using the full length of the machine, Thanks to the presence of 2 or 4 workpiece reference stops, the machine can work in Multipiece or Multipiece Pendualr mode (static or dynamic depending on the version)


VERSATILE ELECTROSPINDLE To go wherever you want.. Thanks to the handling on 5 controlled axes, the spindle can perform the processing on the entire upper hemisphere of the piece.Is also characterised by top of the range power, 15 kW (in S1), speed 24,000 rev/min, 12 Nm of torque, with liquid cooling system. The encoder mounted as standard on the spindle enables rigid tapping, without the use of a mechanical compensator, allowing the use of short tapping machines, particularly useful for processing blind holes. With a large blade, 500 mm in diameter, even the cutting ability is record-breaking. In fact, with Satellite XT it is possible to cut sections up to 360x290 mm.


IRON POWER

A force for steel. With Satellite XT, heavy duty work is not a problem. Because with the power of the spindle, cooled with liquid, it is even possible to easily process up to 5 mm thick iron. It is also possible to perform milling, drilling and rigid tapping operations using the specific tools. You can make cuts at any angle, using the specific 350 mm diameter blade.


CUT AND SEPARATION

Choose the function. The workpiece Cut and Separation function is particularly useful and appreciated. Once the first cut has been made, the machine moves the clamps automatically, separating the cut workpieces, while gripping the profiles, to create the space necessary for further processing on the ends of the profiles. This function is particularly useful in the trimming stages on the facade profiles. Among other optional features there is also: processing with autofeed for milling and bar separation in automatic cycle; oversize processing, which allows to process up to twice the maximum nominal length in X (according to length of version 7,800, 10,500, 15,500 mm).


TOOLS AND BLADE

Category magazines. The tool magazine on one side of the machine is in a highly accessible position. Satellite XT is equipped with a 16-place tool magazine, expandable up to 32, and which also has room for an exchanger arm (optional) to speed-up the tool exchange action. The blade magazine is located separately and in a horizontal position to house large blades, up to 500 mm, and to speed-up its pick-up operation to maximum.


CLAMPS AND REFERENCES


Always safe references. The 2 workpiece reference stops located at the ends of the machine and which are particularly solid, perform the referencing for the workpieces or whole bars, even if they are very large, in a highly accurate and safe manner. As an option it is possible to add a pair of central stops, to allow workpieces referencing with up to 4 profiles with different codes and job orders: the central stops are a necessary requirement to operate in “multipiece swing� mode.

It has never been so easy to adjust the clamps. 6, 8, 12 pneumatic clamps according to the 3 lengths of the machine (7,800, 10,500, 15,500 mm), are featured in the standard equipment of the Satellite XT. It can be optionally equipped with up to 6 pneumatic clamps per processing area, for a total of 12 clamps. The clamps are completely new, both in shape to ensure optimal profile clamping, as well as in terms of the new adjustment system. In fact, adjusting the clamps has never been so fast. Via pre-configured positions it is in fact possible to easily adjust the clamps both in width and in height, to best adapt to the shape of the profile, minimising the use of counterblocks.


Double clamp. Satellite XT also offers the option to process parallel profiles. With an additional presser per each clamp unit, two profiles can be clamped in parallel. Using angular units, one can process the internal sides of the profiles, in positions that cannot be reached by the electrospindle. Parallel processing maximises the use of the work field and significantly reduces the process cycle times.


OTHER FEATURES

Automatic swarf evacuation. The metallic mesh swarf evacuation belt is a particularly appreciated option, as it allows the automatic evacuation of processing swarf as well as of the shavings, conveying them to the workpieces collection basin. The stiff mesh structure is extremely resistant against the fall of large and heavy scraps, typical of the industry.

6 faces for machining. The angular linear head tool, optional, enables Satellite XT to perform machining on the 6th face of the profile. In this way, you can easily perform all machining on the lower face of the profile that would otherwise not be possible to do without repositioning the piece and unlocking the clamps.
