 I
Wish
To
Meet…

“I
wish
to
meet
John
Cena.”

That’s
what
8
year
old
Mustafa
told
his
wish

granters
back
in
December.

Residing
at
Children’s
Medical
Center
in
Dallas,
Mustafa
 had
been
waiting
almost
six
months
for
a
heart
transplant
when
wish
granters
came
to
 meet
with
him.

 An
avid
fan
of
John
Cena
and
the
WWE,
Mustafa
knew
exactly
what
his
one
wish
 would
be.

His
grin
lit
up
the
room
when
he
said
John
Cena’s
name.

Hooked
up
to
 multiple
machines,
Mustafa’s
condition
not
only
limited
him
physically
but
also
 narrowed
his
wish
options.

Since
he
couldn’t
travel
and
had
periodically
been
 intubated,
the
chance
of
meeting
John
Cena
seemed
slim.

The
wish
granters
were
 determined
to
make
this
young
boy’s
dream
come
true
and
thought
of
every
possibility
 to
make
it
happen.

At
first
they
thought
a
phone
call
could
be
arranged
with
John
Cena
 but
with
Mustafa’s
throat
problems
and
shyness,
that
wasn’t
going
to
work.

Then
there
 was
talk
about
arranging
a
Skype
session
between
Mustafa
and
John
Cena.

Because
the
 WWE
travels
so
much,
Internet
connection
wasn’t
consistent
and
they
didn’t
want
to
 risk
the
chance
of
Mustafa
being
disconnected
during
his
chat.

MORE
‐

After
hearing
the
story
of
his
biggest
fan,
John
Cena
agreed
to
do
something
extremely
 special.

He
was
going
to
film
a
personalized
video
message
to
Mustafa
and
send
over
a
 stack
of
signed
pictures
and
other
WWE
items.

 On
the
day
of
the
wish,
doctors,
nurses,
and
Mustafa’s
family
gathered
in
his
 hospital
room
to
celebrate
this
young
boy’s
dream.

The
wish
granters
bought
 everything
John
Cena—balloons,
wrapping
paper,
a
life‐size
cut
out
of
the
wrestler,
and
 a
cake
all
revolving
around
Mustafa’s
idol.

When
the
time
came
to
watch
the
video,
 everyone
watched
as
Mustafa’s
eyes
grew
wide
when
John
Cena
said
his
name.

The
 excitement
in
his
face
was
a
moment
that
those
close
to
him
hadn’t
seen
in
months.

 Although
he
didn’t
get
to
physically
meet
John
Cena,
Mustafa
will
have
his
personalized
 video
message
for
the
rest
of
his
life.
 In
late
February,
Mustafa
unexpectedly
received
another
wish.

He
finally
had
 the
heart
transplant
he
waited
on
for
over
eight
months.

While
recovering
from
his
 surgery,
Mustafa
will
be
able
to
play
his
John
Cena
video
as
much
as
his
heart
desires.
