Dean works for a fintech startup as the primary UX designer. His goal is to impress new clients with his beautiful designs. Dean has lived in the city for a number of years and is always looking for a new spot to hang out at with his team and get the creative juices flowing. Dean works long hours and as a result drinks a lot of coffee. He’s always on the hunt for the perfect cup.
Leah is a graphic design student in her last year of her degree. She’s crunching those portfolio projects. Leah spends most of her time out of the house and loves working in small, independant cafes. Dinosaur Coffee’s logo is fun, imaginative, adventurous and child-like. The dinosaur logo suggests this coffee shop doesn’t take itself too serious and neither should it’s patrons. The type atnd colour eludes to this whimsical feelings. As well as seemingly cheerful.
A fun, bright colour scheme is used to go with the imaginative flow of this cafe. Colour suggests a very exciting, cheerful and optimistic environment. The colours seems to suggest a touch of nostalgia. The colour are reflective of the LA sun.
Sam James Coffee Bar utilizaes simple, effective and memorable design in their logo. One simple shape reflects the simplistic nature and values of SJCB. Shortening their name to SJCB in addition to the diamond icon reflects a sense of mystery as well as this feeling of
White and Black colour scheme eludes to a more urban, exclusive, city vibe. A clean, mysterious aesthetic with a bit of grunge. Monochromatic colour scheme reflects SJCB’s simplistic approach to coffee. The colour choices are elude to classiness and luxury.

The typography of the logo and the menu board suggests something a little more laidback. The uniqueness of the type suggests that Dinosaur Coffee is something a little different. It is a fun type and has a hip west-coast feel.
Monospace type on menu boards evokes an outsider vibe while the serif type for the logo reflects classiness and classic modern look.
