Ever since I can remember I have been drawing or crafting in some way, hello, I am Emilia Fioribello. I strive to make beautiful spaces. I won’t lie, I didn’t always want to be an interior designer. I actually didn’t know what I wanted to do, but I knew I wanted to be an artist in some way. Before I tell you about my interest in Interior design, let me tell you about myself. I am a young woman in my twenties, born in Brooklyn, and raised in Staten Island. I was born into a very italian family and lived in Brooklyn for barely a year before my parents moved out to Staten Island. I have an older sister, who is 8 years older than me and she was my idol growing up. When I was extremely young, I went out with my parents and I was the only child in the home, so I was bored. After about three hours or so, my parents found me drawing what looked like an exact replica of a black and white line drawn women on the wall in the home we were in. To this day they don’t let me forget it. As I grew older and more knowledgeable I began to be interested in my father’s work, he was a contractor, now retired. I remember going with him to a job one day, who knows why, but I really enjoyed the work and the process. About 6-7 years ago before I moved into the home I live in now, I helped my dad make a cardboard model. So we did it, and that’s when my passion really started showing. He asked me questions like what I would want and what I think would go well. From that moment on I began to study interior design more and constantly watched the home building channel. There is nothing I enjoy more than drawing rooms and furniture. I came into the Art institute immediately out of high school and with a fresh mind. Today I am nearing graduation and pursuing my dream of being a well-known interior designer, and eventually, within 10 years I’m hoping to own my own firm. For now I want to grow my knowledge and experience and work my way up the ladder of design.

Kevin Jones is a 38 year old blind man who is 5'-10" tall. He lives alone and is a composer and jingle writer. His work is done with a key board and computer with minimal recording equipment. He walks with a cane and counts steps to get around. He enjoys cooking and being self sufficient. He requires his space to have very few moving parts, and needs storage systems that are fixed, clear and percise. He requests for clues to help him orient himself within his apartment, done by sound, warmth of the sun, furniture, floor texture, etc.

Coral Spa

Tribeca Grand Hotel

CORAL INSPIRED SPA

A

Location: New York, NY size: 3800 square feet

This spa is inspired by the Therme Vals spa located in Switzerland. The spa has muliple different temperature pools and one single material through out the spa. the lighting is intricately designed as strips in the ceiling, and the spa gives off a southing feeling though out. My spa is based off of coral on the ocean floor. Coral comes in millions of shapes and colors, but inevitably my design was based off of underwater and coral.

TRIBECA GRAND HOTEL SUITE

A

L E G E N D

Location: New York, NY size: 1500 square feet

Here is my design of the Tribeca Grand Hotel suite where a full set of construction documents was created and then put together in a threedimensional way. My interpitation of the design was to have the staircase a focal point considering it is the first thing you see when you walk in. I chose an earthy color pallet and hard wood floors. You will find my plans and designs within this project.

United D' Habilitation

This living room is based off of furniture derived from the ABC showroom open to the public in NYC

HAND DRAFTED CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS

Location: New York, NY

A size: 300 square feet

Location: Marseilles, France size: 3,500 Square Feet
