BULGARIAN PAVILION - EXPO 2015

BUILDING TECHNOLOGY STUDIO prof. I.Paoletti prof. G.Chiarandà prof. P.Bagul assistents: R.Naboni , C.Gasparini

INSPIRATION

TYPICAL BULGARIAN TIMBER FRAMING FROM THE REVIVAL PERIOD (COMPOSITE STRUCTURE) INITIALLY IT WAS A BEARING STRUCTURE FOR ADOBE WALLS, BUT LATER THE SAME TECHNIQUE WAS USED FOR BRICK WALLS; KEEP_THE IDEA OF THE COMPOSITE STRUCTURE, DEVELOPING THE FRAME USING THE VORONOI TESSELATION; CHANGE_INSTEAD OF TIMBER AND BRICKS WE USE CORIAN-CLADDED STEEL FRAME AND INNOVATIVE ELASTIC SEMI-TRANSPARENT MATERIAL;

MATERIALS

FOR THE FRAME OF THE PAVILION WE USE A STEEL STRUCTURE, CLADDED WITH CORIAN, A SOLID SYNTHETIC MATERIAL THAT WILL GIVE A CLEAN AND SLEEK FINISH TO THE EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR. THE CLADDING IS DONE BY ATTACHING THE CORIAN PANELS TO A SUBSTRUCTURE OF RAIL PROFILES. FOR THE FILLING OF THE WALLS WE POLYURETHAN-COATED SPANDEX. A FLEXIBLE, STRETCHABLE, WATER RESISTANT, TRANSLUCENT FABRIC, WHICH IS VERY RESILIENT AND DURABLE. IT RESISTS HIGH OR LOW TEMPERATURES, DOES NOT SWELL OR SHRINK.
