Year 8 Public Speaking Competition Pictured are the winners of the recent Year 8 Public Speaking Competition. All of the speeches were extremely well written, confidently delivered and very entertaining. It was incredibly difficult for judges, Brother Gough and Mrs R Gallagher, to pick a winner, as all of the speakers and speeches were outstanding. After much deliberation, Niall McCrystall 8F was finally declared the winner with his imaginative speech on the changes he would make if he ruled the world. John Cumiskey 8A was second with his interesting and thought provoking speech in support of daydreaming. Anthony Bradley 8B was third with his controversial speech on homework. The audience, judges and supervising teachers had a really enjoyable morning. Mrs Gallagher, organiser of the event would like to thank all of the competitors for the time and effort they put into preparing their speeches; the judges for all their hard work and insightful feedback and of course all of those teachers who helped the students prepare and helped supervise the event on the day.
