Praying in Agreement

Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” Matthew 18:19-20 Eph 4:11-13- And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers,  to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ,

Lets pray this over the 10/40 Window

Father, we come before You confidently believing that all our passion, hunger, persistence, and strength can only come from You. So as it delights Your heart this day, turn us each into people of prayer.  Mold us into people who long to pray and expect to see results for the lives from whom we pray.  2 | The 10/40 Window Reporter

Today we come asking You, on behalf of all Christian Believers living in the Window, to renew their love and passion for Your Body.  This is the Body for which Your Son came, died and resurrected.  This is the Body from whom His physical body was bruised, battered, and despised.  This is the same Body that will one day be called to the Bridegroom – spotless, blameless, and perfected for all eternity.  This is the same Body that represents and reveals the nature of Your Kingdom on this earth.  Give them Your type of longing for the Church.  Grant them the sight to see past the Church’s current apostasy, complacency, and utter fear of offending the world by living in righteousness.  God, You do not want them to fall while seeking to save those entrapped, yet they trust that by Your Spirit You will have a grip upon their lives as they extend their hands of love to Your people.  Father, stir Your Body for the equipping and perfecting of the saints, so that they may all attain the UNITY of the Faith.  Stir their lives today to live for this Unity, www.WIN1040.com

this maturing of Your Body.  Fill them with biblical honor, love, respect, and passion for the church around their nation, for the Saints they work with, live by, and pass each day during their routines of life.   Help raise up those living in the 10/40 Window to break down this denominational divide that has corrupted the Church from becoming one in unity.  Help them to love people in spite of their theological differences, knowing and believing that even though they differ on certain doctrines, they all serve the One True God!  We all look to serve the God of the Hebrews, the God of the Gentiles, the God of all existence, through the One Son of God and Son of Man, Jesus Christ.  Amen  those who walk faithfully in this life, so that on that day when we enter the joy of our Master, it will not be a new feeling felt, just deeper in relation to its measure. Fill us and Your people with Joy this day. Amen.

SEPTEMBER 2012

EARTHQUAKE IN IRAN et another earthquake has struck Iranian territory! In the northwest area of the country, Tabriz shook violently leaving 306 dead, injuring more than 4,000, and leaving 16,000 people homeless. Iran is located on seismic fault lines, making it prone to earthquakes of significant magnitude – 2003, over 26,000 were swept into eternity after a quake leveled the city of Bam.

Y

“The Tabriz region has long been a centre for Assyrian and Armenian Orthodox Christians, so it is very likely that they are among the dead and wounded,” states Elam Ministries, whose vision is to serve the growing church in the Iran region. Iran has launched a security-driven crackdown against private relief efforts aimed at helping survivors. According to Telegraph News, “Individuals who set up private bank accounts to help survivors have had their accounts closed after donations started to flow in.” The clampdown appeared aimed at stemming fierce criticism of the government’s low-key response to the quakes after state television failed to highlight the disaster and the country’s supreme leader took 30 hours to express concern. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s government was criticized for a chaotic response – leaving many people forced to transport victims to hospitals in their own cars.

The opportunity during Iran’s time of distress, disaster relief and rebuilding is the perfect time for Christians to demonstrate the love of Christ. Whether Christians come from within the country or from the outside, practical efforts to assist Iran can lead to life-changing conversations for Iranians. Iran being one of the worst persecutors of Christians, #5 according to Open Doors USA, Christian relief teams are a chance to redeem the nation’s understanding of Christianity. This shows there are many opportunities in this present crisis for Christians to demonstrate the love of Christ in a practical way. And of course there will be much need for counseling among the bereaved and shocked.

Pray for:

The Lord to send relief-effort teams with the heart to serve and the Gospel of Jesus Christ upon their lips. The Lord to equip Christians to help with the counseling processes needed to address the victims in shock. God to release His comfort upon those affected by the earthquake. The Lord to reveal His Son Jesus Christ as the One true God and sole provider of security.

OVERCOMERS Blood may be shed in Nigeria . . . but blood has been shed for Nigeria. They are overcomers!“And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony...” Revelation 12:11

Nigeria is a multiethnic nation with more than 160 million people, divided into two distinct regions – Christian South and Muslim North. Over the past decade, Nigerian churches have been under attack by radical Islamic terrorist group, Boko Haram, who vowed to rid northern Nigeria of Christianity. Violence is penetrating the central part of the country: recently Muslim radicals killed 19 Christians along with the pastor while they were holding a Bible study. This only affirms Boko Haram’s spread of hostility so that “Christians will not know peace again” Boko Haram. What a proud statement spoken out of sheer ignorance – ignorance that has clouded the mind from understanding the ways of our Lord. Two things I would like to point out regarding the lie of this statement. Peace is not the external absence of chaos, but the reality of internal Comfort – comfort that is secured by the Comforter within us. The spread of outward persecution has always spread the Gospel.

SEPTEMBER 2012

© 2012 Window International Network

www.WIN1040.com

“As the Gospel spreads, it comes in contact with more and more hostile forces. They persecute those (who) are bringing the Good News of Christ. As persecution comes, Christians are forced to deal with the fact that superficial faith won’t cut it, and so their faith becomes deeper and stronger. That of course encourages them to more boldly witness. This cycle continues,” says Carl Moeller with Open Doors USA. Isn’t that the truth? What Boko Haram, and other radical terrorist groups, have yet to understand about the church of Jesus Christ is: the more you persecute the more the Gospel produces. The more you attack Christianity, the more it advances. The more you seek to disperse, the more it spreads. As we pray for our Nigerian brothers and sisters in the Lord, let us claim the absolute spread of the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout all regions of Nigeria. Let us uphold these determined Christ followers in prayer – declaring boldness, courage, and comfort in the midst of outward turmoil. A great harvest is coming O’ church of Nigeria – stand firm in your faith, proclaiming freedom to the captives of your land – in Jesus Name Amen.

Several deadly attacks have been staged in recent years. Most of these have been credited to al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM), an extremist group based in Algeria and affiliated with al-Qaeda. Nearly all of the residents of Algeria are Muslim. The Constitution declares Islam to be the state religion and prohibits any behavior incompatible with Islamicmorality. Authoritative Prayer There are respectfully two positions of prayer – praying from Earth to Heaven or praying from Heaven to Earth.

no results. We must be careful not to misuse Believer’s authority.

When we pray to Heaven, we are moved by God’s love, compassion, and presence. When we pray from Heaven, we move God’s love, compassion, and presence.

But when the archangel Michael, contending with the devil, was disputing about the body of Moses, he did not presume to pronounce a blasphemous judgment, but said, “The Lord rebuke you.” (The Bible, Jude 1:9)

One of the great responsibilities we have, being children of the King, is that we are commissioned to expand the borders of the Kingdom. We are called to take the prosperity of God’s realm and release it to the common people in this realm. This is done by and through prayer. There is, however, one key component to seeing results . . . it must be done through the only One who has been given all access to God’s supply – Jesus!

Notice Michael the archangel and his position to authoritative declaration. Even he did not pronounce judgment, but did it through the Lord. The power of praying from a place of authority is when it’s done through the One with all authority – the Lord. All authority in Heaven and earth are His, yet He chooses to work through us – how glorious a thought!

Too many have stood up, declaring and proclaiming, yet with

Does God Smell?

Its allergy season . . . and yes I have allergies.  It’s a wonder that I can even breathe.   Experiencing the normalcy of airflow through my nostrils is something I may never truly know.   I try so hard to breathe through my nose, but my parents kindly informed me after many vacation nights of ‘sniffling’ be quiet!  I have the privilege (at least I view it that way) of riding a motorcycle to work - surrounded by the beauty of God’s mountainous earth, luscious evergreens, and a constant breeze for 40 minutes each day.  This morning, I passed by a garden and happened to ‘sniff’ my way to some enjoyment. Smells have a way of taking us back, don’t they? Most of our senses can do this, however, for me it seems that over the years I associate experiences with smell. It’s a glorious thing - the smell of spring time rain reminding me of the onset of summer.  Or the first cut grass of the season bringing me back to early morning football work outs.  And yes, we all have those smells that we wish would bury themselves for eternity . . . dirty diapers, dog poop, etc.  SEPTEMBER 2012

Did you know that God smells?  God shows us facets of himself throughout creation. The Lord grants us the opportunity to sense His presence being so near -simply by us viewing the world with the right set of eyes.  No two blades of grass the same; no two grains of sand similar; no two clouds; no two snowflakes.  When we as people choose to connect our heart with our senses, God becomes present.  Now if He has chosen to allow our eyes to behold Him in all things, why not our other senses?  When Jesus asked His followers to ‘remember’ Him, what are we suppose to be doing? Taking communion (eating and drinking, tasting).  I propose to you that we as Followers of Christ experience God to the degree that we allow Him to invade our senses.  Ever heard the phrase “Just breath”? Of course it’s more of an indication to

chill out - but I’m challenging the body of Christ to “Just Breath”. I find it so interesting that most people choose to gather oxygen through their mouth while exhaling through their noses - check it out sometime, you’ll be surprised how little we choose to breathe through the nose, out the mouth. When you choose to do things contrary of how God designed them, we often miss blessing! When we fail to breathe through our noses, we miss the wonderful nature of God that desires to dwell in our daily moments. Try it today; slow down, breath through your nose and allow God to take the scents of life and bless you through memories and moments of joy. The 10/40 Window Reporter | 11

Then imagine leaving them there – where they belong. imagine what that would look like in practical terms. it would certainly look very different from the “gimme-gimme” attitude practiced by much of the world and would stand out dramatically from the selfishness and greed that drives most people. radical Christian living and giving would cause many people – even some Christians – to stop and stare. if we dare to take up that challenge, the world will see the love of Christ illustrated through us. What an opportunity! and what an honor: to follow the example of our lord and savior by pouring ourselves out for his glory. instead of simply imagining what radical Christian giving might look like, why don’t we try it and find out. let’s start today – right now – by surrendering everything to the lord. and let’s ask him what he wants us to do with the resources he has entrusted to us. invite him to show you the role he wants you to play in reaching the people of the 10/40 Window with the gospel. go to www.Win1040.com to explore ways to pray and give toward the advance of the kingdom of god in the “final frontier of missions.”

One Soul

PRAYING AS ONE SOUL-BURDENED BY ONE SOUL

One soul is geared towards mobilizing youth globally to the awareness of the 10/40 Window and its spiritual struggles preventing people finding Jesus, while instilling an urgency to pray on behalf of lost souls. By leveraging social networks like Facebook and Twitter, one soul has the ability to connect Believers across worlds and cultures, making the common dominator the salvation of lost souls. Each month there will be a specific 10/40 Window Nation, with information regarding social injustices, poverty, persecution rating, and number of lost souls. This will give the younger generation a better vantage point from which to pray. Be sure to inform your youth on this global initiative designed to equip, empower, and emerge the next generation prayer warriors. facebook - www.facebook.com/prayonesoul twitter - @prayonesoul 24 | The 10/40 Window Reporter

10/40 WINDOW

Dear WindowKids Parents and Educators, Every year, there are more children in the 10/40 Window learning about the love of Jesus Christ. Those same children also live under very serious conditions—famine, poverty, earthquakes, volcanic explosions, and persecution from their governments for believing in Jesus. At the same time, they are being instructed in false religions. Wouldn’t you love to teach your children and students more about the children in the 10/40 Window? They definitely need our prayers. The more we know about the children in the 10/40 Window, and how they live, the better we will be able to instruct our children how to pray for them. There is a resource where you can find tons of information about these 10/40 Window children. WindowKids is launching a new and exciting website! You can help your children become Kingdom Ambassadors by accessing the resources available to you through www.windowkids. com. It’s a perfect resource for Sunday School teachers, Homeschool Instructors, Kid’s Ministry, and for parents who want to educate their kids about the 10/40 Window. Take your children on an adventure through our website—where you will find games, puzzles, photos of WindowKids, recipes and activities to help YOU teach children in your sphere of influence about the children in the 10/40 Window! Pray for Saudi Arabia today! Pray for freedom for Saudis to choose their own religion. There is only one officially recognized religion (Islam), and conversion to any other religion is punishable by death. Pray that the Lord would weaken Islam’s grip over key regions in the nation especially renowned for their fanaticism. Pray especially for the cities of Mecca and Medina and the Qasim Region – the “Qur’an Belt” of the nation which includes Riyadh, the capital. Pray that the Lord would open the eyes of the millions of pilgrims who visit Mecca each year. Lord, there are few places more dangerous on Earth for Christians to live than Saudi Arabia. I pray for Saudi children and that You would open doors supernaturally for them to know You. Amen.
