PASSION-LED ENCOURAGING PROJECTS

Many of the students have extended their knowledge of the financial markets through hearing from industry leading guest speakers and our weekly market overview (Bull VS Bear). This overview is shared at the start of each meeting, highlighting key news that has affected financial markets in the short and long term. Following this, students have heard from guest speakers including Steven Marks (CEO of Guzman Y Gomez), Russel Pillemer (CEO of Pengana Capital) and Gavin Rubinstein (Founder of TRG), to name a few.

We learnt about the driving factors to succeed in the finance industry and the world of entrepreneurship. The many questions asked of our guest speakers helped us to gain unique insight beyond the classroom. Students who are curious and passionate about the topic had the opportunity to present about a financial topic of their choice.

Initially, we wanted to create a space where students could explore their finance and business passions, while providing an opportunity to network with and learn from Australian business leaders, speakers who have innovated in their respective fields. This has inspired students to chase their dreams and consider diverse career paths.

We were supported by teachers who also have an interest in the worlds of business and finance. They helped guide us, encourage us and dealt with much of the administration required to create this new club. The supportive culture at Emanuel has been a driving force in the success of this new student driven club.

Our interests in investing in different asset classes such as equities and cryptocurrency as well as entrepreneurship motivated us to create this Club and create a platform for like-minded students. As we hand over the reins to the incoming Year 12 students, we wish them success in all their endeavours. We will be with them in spirit as they navigate their futures.
