Poster artist Jessica Casas expresses herself and finds her connection to the world of art through the use of bold colors and contrasting values. She enjoys giving life to canvas by creating interaction between light, shadows and bright colors. Jessica enjoys working with Prismacolor pencils as well as acrylics due to the effects created when overlapped. Jessica also works with oil paintings, ink and pottery. Jessica was born in Mexico City and came to the United States at age ten, the same year she began her career in art. A few of the honors Jessica has received include Salem Chamber of Commerce Art Contest, Awesome 3000, Oregon Garden Art Poster, and her most recent honor is the Silverton Arts Festival Poster. Jessica currently studies sociology at Oregon State University and hopes to attend graduate school in Public Policy. “Although I study sociology, I will always continue my career in art.”
