elvis.com Photo sPotlight features There are many fun events and special happenings throughout the year both at Graceland and around the world that make it into our photo spotlight section. Here are some of our favorites:

March 16, 2010 Elvis really is everywhere! Elvis Insider Linda received an email from her friend in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China, that included this photo of an Elvis billboard. In Chinese, the headline reads “Elvis Changed Music.”

March 25, 2010 This display case represents just a small portion of the Elvis artifacts on display at the new Elvis! His Groundbreaking, Hip-Shaking, Newsmaking Story exhibit that recently opened at the Newseum in Washington, D.C. At the opening, fans and student groups celebrated by touring the exhibit and enjoying Elvis music by Memphian Andy Childs.

March 22, 2010 Elvis lives...in Poland! Anna in Memphis received this photo from her friend who visited Wroclaw, Poland. Depending on the Polish translation, the bumper sticker reads “Elvis Lives” or “Elvis let the good times roll.”

April 12, 2010 Interior designer Bill Eubanks, who consulted on the redesign and decoration of the TV and pool rooms in 1974, recently visited Graceland. Bill was the man behind the TCB-inspired paint scheme, multiple inset televisions and fullymirrored ceiling and bar in the TV room, as well as lining the walls and ceiling of the pool room with over-400-yards of pleated fabric.

March 8, 2010 Over 600 Boy and Girl Scouts visited Graceland for Scout Day on Saturday, March 6, 2010, where they took a tour of the mansion and participated in activities like arts and crafts, Elvis karaoke and learning how to be an Elvis DJ.

June 25, 2010 Graceland went red, white and blue to support the U.S. National Soccer Team during the World Cup competition. The lights were switched on by Memphis area youth, ranging from ages 8 to 12 years old, who play in the Mid South Futbol Club.

March 1, 2010 The yearlong celebration of Elvis Presley’s 75th Birthday continues today with the grand opening of “Elvis Presley: Fashion King,” at Graceland. The exhibit is the first of its kind at Elvis’ home in Memphis, and explores fashion trends ushered in by The King of Rock ‘n’ Roll. March 4, 2010 Los Angeles-based hair metal band, Rock Sugar, visited Graceland after performing at the Beale Street Music Festival. The members of the band are avid Elvis fans, and they wanted to stop by Graceland to visit what they deemed the “mecca of Rock ‘n’ Roll.”
