Logan Elmer “Bringing Passion and Joy to everything I do.”
Mission Statement • To bring a level of passion and joy to my writing that rivals that of even the best in my craft.
Core Values • I want to prove my worth and show my employer they made the right call by hiring me. • I believe that you should be honest with people; allowing you to grow as a person and as a professional. • I want to work with people that are going to push me to be the best that I can be. • I want to write articles that impact gaming as a whole and change the way that sceptics look at the medium. Creative Process • My creative process is very simple; I create a rough outline of the article, giving me my highlights and then I just write the article from my heart. After finishing I go back and edit the article as I see fit, or as my editor sees fit. Target Audience • Hardcore gamers who like to look at gaming in a critical light, and want to understand why things work the way that they do. Services Offered • Can write articles on various subjects such as music, TV and movies. • However, I specialize in writing reviews for video games. • Also have knowledge of video and audio editing. • I also possess above average interviewing skill and would love the chance to get to interview game developers and my peers.
Packages or Rates • Most journalists work for views at smaller sites, but ideally I would like to make a salary of around 43,000$ Featured Project of Case Study • I have written a case study on Electronic Arts; I believe that this case study shows my ability to think of the games industry as a whole in a critical capacity. As well as showing my love and passion for the hobby I have practiced most of my life. Case Study Frequently Asked Questions • Why did I choose games journalism is the only real question I get and the answer is very simple. I don’t know what else I would do professionally, I can’t stand working a normal 9 to 5 job due to my anxiety and depression, so I had no choice to commit to my dream. Some people may view anxiety and depression as possible problems in an employee, however these have worked in my favor in some ways. I’m thorough in my work and am overly critical ensuring my work is the best it can be. I also have nowhere else to turn so I am going to give 100% to the employer that gives me my chance. Awards/Achievements • The only achievement I currently hold is that I worked as a volunteer at GeekReply for a week and learned a lot about how smaller, younger news outlets function.
Favorite Quote • “God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and the wisdom to know the difference.” Notable Clients • John Smith (GeekReply) Call to Action • While I may be inexperienced and young I still possess the necessary skills to make it as a games journalist. Through critical thinking and an open mind I can provide intelligent and thought out comments on the games industry as a whole and provide valuable reviews and knowledge about games that advance the medium.
