The Great Valley Senior Group, including the towns of Great Valley, Humphrey, Salamanca, Ellicottville and Mansfield, will gather for its monthly meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 13, at the Great Valley Fire Hall. Bring a dish to pass and your own place setting. Luncheon is served at 1 p.m. Come early and visit with your friends or meet new friends. William ‘Walter’ Gambrill 1931-2017
William “Walter” Gambrill, 85, of Capon Bridge, WV died on Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2017 at his home. He was born on Sept. 24, 1931 in Highland, MD, the son of the late Raymond and Evelyn Earp Grambrill. Walter preached the gospel for 26 years at the Zion Community Church in Ellicottville, NY. He filled many pulpits through the years in the states of NY, PA, MD, VA & WV. Walter attended the Moody Bible Institute Correspondence Courses in Chicago, IL, Elohim Bible Institute in Castile, NY and the Bible Truth Institute in Sunberry, PA. Most recently he attended the Hebron Baptist Church in Gore. Walter was a veteran of the Unites States Marine Corp during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Post 137 in Capon Bridge, WV. He was a carpenter by trade and had a love of woodworking. Walter married Janice Richardson Gambrill on Jan.18, 1958 in Highland, MD. Surviving, along with his wife of 59 years, is a son: Daniel “Dan” Gambrill (Betsy) of Summerville, SC; three daughters: Bonnie Harvey (Curtis) of Capon Bridge, WV; Deborah Drew (Michael) of Goose Creek, SC; Barbara Stanton (her late husband Alan) of Depew, NY; and seven grandchildren: Samuel, Jacob, William, Danielle, Colt, Kylie and Emma. He is preceded in death by a son-in-law: Alan Stanton.
