Free Money from New York State!! When Fueling up on the trails please remember to go inside and ask to sign the log sheet for your gas purchase. The State of New York will reimburse participating clubs $.08 per gallon of road tax for all fuel sold for use in your snowmobiles. Certain stations in the county are taking the extra step in supporting clubs by keeping the log sheets and collecting the receipts. Please support the stations that are supporting your club. Even if you are fueling up after hours, you can hold on to your receipt and sign the log sheet the next time you purchase gas.
I’M DREAMING OF A WHITE FEBRUARY Thus far this year, the weather has not cooperated for us. The Lake Erie snow machine that brings us as much as 300 inches of the white stuff per season has not brought us our usual snow but has dropped it’s participation in the form of rain. The brief few days that the trails were able to be opened were followed by several days of thaw. It’s enough to make even Al Gore say “I told you so”. On the bright side, looking back at past years, a late start for the snowmobiling season was followed by a lots of snow, cold and great riding. If this year is like others in the past, we still have some awesome times to look forward to. Lets hope that it will hold true this year too! In the mean time, out of respect of our land owners and for your own safety, please call the hotline at 800-242-4569 to make sure the trails are open before heading out.
