Illuminate is collaborative illustrated book created by Katherine Frazier and Ella Wright. Each illustration is accompanied by a short poem written by Katherine, bringing her words to life. Using a restricted palette of only two colours, and the deliberate use of negative space on each page, the poems are not overpowered by the illustrations, rather they are illuminated.

Introspection Hope comes but with glimmers of misfortune. Blissfully failing to recognise failure.

Moonlight Moon creeping around corners, Gazing at wanderers. Drifting beyond breezeways Through streets silent but for The whisper in the dark.

Merewether The crash of a wave, screech of a gull. Familiar exchanges of leathery smiles, Old friends bathing in sunlight, soaking in conversation. The sweat of a city washed clean by the sea.

Femininity Queen of all I survey. You find comfort in my midnight eyes as you become enthralled by my destructive grace.

drifting Spiralling fractions of long lost memories. My senses adrift with desire into a gentle oblivion

My four loves (so far) My first love was a drug. The comedown was complicated My second, a wildfire. Dazzling but deadly and destructive. My third, an empire. Sat on a throne of prevarication. My fourth love, the toughest, the fourth, Myself

Disposable People are not disposable. You can’t just throw them away like every problem you create, People don’t have an expiry date You can’t just negate Feelings.

Sleep My world is constantly ending. Each night it shatters. But in morning light time is impervious, and the nightmare begins all over again.

Standards Withdraw from perfection, flee to Chaos and bathe in her embrace
