VERIFIED REVIEWS Replace 2 interior cracked panels and deal with condensation The fitter, Andrew, was extremely friendly and polite. He removed his shoes without being asked. He let me know what he was going to do and the work was carried out very efficiently with little mess. We have another window which will also need some repairs and I will definitely call Mr Misty again.

Replacement glass in 5 misted wooden windows Very friendly and efficient service. Excellent work completed by Andrew today

Secondary Double Glazing on a listed Building So Impressed, I have put Photos and review on Facebook the job is superb. Its cut out almost all the noise we had from the main road units look fantastic you would hardly know they are there. Tonight its been so warm we have had to open doors and I have taken my jumper off - totally unheard of after about August each year let alone in November, Totally blown away with this job.

Fitting secondary glazing We are thrilled with the work and the customer service provided by Josh. He was so tidy and the glazing looks so good. We have had acoustic glass fitted and as we live by the road it has made a huge difference. We have had lots of positive comments. We would highly recommend Mr Misty for secondary glazing.

Replaced sealed units in three windows A really professional job. From the quote to the finished windows everything done to a very high standard. Arrived punctual, job carried out with no fuss and everywhere left clean and tidy. 4

OZENS of people braved swimming through mud rivers and a trip on a deathslide to raise money for a Foundation. Fundraisers from across Essex descended on Wild Forest Races, in Kelvedon Hatch, for the filthy challenge which saw them covered from head to toe in mud.

Founder of the Foundation, said: “I have to say it did make me laugh to see these amazing people turning up in their pristine white Tom Bowdidge Youth Cancer Foundation t-shirts only to be entirely covered in thick mud by the end. It was fantastic. “They all absolutely loved

Nearly 40 people took part in the day, raising more than £4,500 for the Tom Bowdidge Youth Cancer Foundation, based in Colchester.

it. I think the deathslide was a favourite for most people because they ended up in this lake of mud, but they also had to avoid the drop on the ninja rings and have a go on zip lines. It was by far the most disgustingly muddy course I have ever seen. Tom would have loved it.

Littlegarth – the ideal independent primary school experience Littlegarth is a non-selective independent preparatory school for children between the ages of 2½ and 11 situated in the beautiful Stour Valley overlooking the village of Nayland. Littlegarth prides itself on preparing children thoroughly for the rigours of entrance exams to grammar and selective independent schools whilst embracing a broad and exciting curriculum. Specialist teachers offer guidance in key subjects and the children achieve extremely high standards in a wide range of activities. The school has been judged as ‘Outstanding’ in all four categories in the school’s latest ISI inspection and the excellent reputation the school

has for academic success was highlighted in the Standard Inspection Report which commented, “The overall achievement of the pupils is excellent, because of the exemplary attitude to learning by the pupils, who approach every task with delightful enthusiasm” and “The evidence from the inspection is that the pupils make exceptional progress when compared with those of similar above-average ability”. 8

Littlegarth children also achieve excellent standards in music, art and drama and in recent years sports teams have achieved unbeaten seasons and have won regional and national titles in major sports. Children of all abilities acquire a passion for a wide variety of activities inside and outside the classroom and the school works hard to feed that enthusiasm to ensure that each child leaves Littlegarth a confident member of a successful team. Littlegarth recently received a visit from The Good Schools guide and the glowing review resulting from this visit and subsequent interviews with parents can be found on the School’s website.

local grammar schools while all children gained places at the independent schools of their choice. In the past four years, more than half of the Year 6 leavers have been awarded scholarships to senior independent schools with 80 children gaining over 120 scholarship awards. Head, Kathy Uttley is delighted with these excellent results; ‘The children and staff worked extremely hard in a very difficult year and we are very proud of the achievements of all our children. They really enjoy supporting each other and children of all ability levels feel that they are making a valuable contribution to the success of this very exciting school’.

Despite the huge difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the children continued to receive their full curriculum and results in external exams have seen 11 children achieve places at our

only useable for a few weeks of the year, the rest of the time they either sit dormant or are used as a glorified storeroom, which is a shame,” said Steve.

That’s because many existing conservatories get way too hot in the summer months and are freezing cold in the winter due to their glass or polycarbonate roofs.

“The problem with polycarbonate conservatory roofs is they are inefficient and noisy, while old glass roofs can make the inside feel like a greenhouse.

According to Steve Rawding, Sales and Marketing Director at leading South East home improvement company SEH BAC: “An old conservatory can become a useable space all year round is a modern rood upgrade.

“Your conservatory will be the perfect temperature all year round, meaning you can enjoy it 365 days a year. It will soon become your favourite room in the house.”

“A conservatory is a wonderful extra space for a home, but the extreme temperatures mean they are

Replacement conservatory roof systems have significantly developed, using modern manufacturing techniques and exceptionally durable materials.

“All modern conservatory roofs now offer superb efficiency, so the choice depends on the look you want,” added Steve. “With high-performance glass, only the right amount of sun can enter your conservatory in the summer, which means coupled with ventilation it creates a fantastic additional room. “While in the winter it will be flooded with natural light and heat that will be retained. “With a tiled roof, you can match it to the rest of your home, so it feels like a natural extension, while a solid roof is made up of solid and glazed panels, giving you the best of both worlds.” With more than 50 years’ experience installing to homes in the South East, SEH BAC offers a range of highperformance roof options that can be customised to complement a home’s existing character and provide industry-leading levels of energy efficiency to help save money on heating bills.

A vision that has grown into something quite magical! From its earliest days Crystal Dreams has proved its worth in helping people in a holistic, practical and sympathetic way. Originally established in 2020 during the pandemic as an online venture and now as a welcoming shop based in Copford, Crystal Dreams continues to live up to owner, Hayley Moore’s vision of having grown into something quite magical! Coming from a care background as an NHS nurse with over ten year’s experience, Hayley’s interest in alternative healing has proved exhaustive for the success of Crystal Dreams,

giving a wide ranging understanding in both conventional and holistic treatments that compliments the way in which Crystal Dreams offer their services to their customers to help cope with the everyday stress and strains of life. Gaining a large following on social media has meant that Crystal Dreams has been able to expand physically into the local community at 17 School Road, Copford, Colchester, CO6 1BU. Crystal Dreams offer a vast selection of crystals from all over the world, as well as holistic giftware for that special someone.

Hayley offers, by appointment only, Reiki and Crystal Healing. In stressful times times, many of us harness ways to feel grounded, to calm anxiety and soothe stress, so it’s not surprising that alternative therapies like crystal healing have come to the fore. The concept of using crystals to heal has been around for centuries but, with celebrities speaking out publicly about their belief in the practice, it’s had a more mainstream resurgence in recent years. And, as with most trends re-entering the zeitgeist, social media has played a huge part in its popularity – in more ways than one.
