4-Ball Highland Golf Tour

Buchan and Byers Golf Tours in association with Competition Boutique are delighted to offer you the following Golf Tour. The tour is for 4 golfers and includes 3 rounds of Golf (playing The Nairn GC, Royal Dornoch GC and Castle Stuart), two nights accommodation in the fabulous 4-star luxury Kingsmills Hotel, Inverness (with hearty Scottish Breakfasts)*, links shot clinic, whisky tasting event and luxury Mercedes people carrier transfers between the hotel and courses.

DAY 1:-

The adventure begins on arrival at the Kingsmills Hotel, Inverness. Make sure your party arrive and check in by 8:15am on the first day as the transport will depart and take you to Nairn for your tee off at 10:20am. On arrival at The Nairn Golf Club, you will be met by the head teaching professional Murray Urquhart who will provide a ‘links shot’ clinic at around 9am to fully prepare you for some of the shots which you will be facing over the next three days and he will also offer any advice about the courses prior to your tee off. About The Nairn Golf Club The Nairn Golf Club’s truly remarkable feature is that from every hole you can see the Moray Firth

and the golden colouring and changing lights of the Black Isle. Even more extraordinary – Viscount William Whitelaw or Willie (as everyone referred to him) learned his golf here. More recently, in 1999 the Nairn Golf Club has hosted the Walker Cup matches which are the pinnacle team event of the armature game between Great Britain and Ireland and the United States. Other than in a strong westerly, it leads you in gently before demanding accurate driving and precision second shots. Gorse is a hazard. The par 4 holes tease and confound and all four short holes are cunningly angled, with the 4th a little gem and the 14th simply spectacular. As three of the par 5 holes are over 530 yards long, it is a test for all. Almost 100 years ago, having played the Championship Course, James Braid commented on the quality of the greens. Once your round is finished, feel free to head back to the club house for a drink and when you are ready, your transport will take you back to the hotel where you can relax. Inveness is a short taxi ride from the hotel and is well stocked with Bars and Restaurants for your party to explore.

DAY 2:-

Up early and after a hearty breakfast, the transport will leave at 9am for the 1hr drive to Dornoch. Soft drinks will be provided on the drive and your party can relax in the comfort of the leather seats and enjoy the scenery. Your tee time is 10:50am.

1 TICKET • 2 NIGHTS • 3 COURSES • 4 FRIENDS • 5 QUESTIONS About Royal Dornoch Royal Dornoch is spellbinding and many golfers from all over the world make the pilgrimage to this natural links at some point in their lives. It is often quoted as one of the must-play courses of not only Scotland but the world. It’s the timeless setting that makes Royal Dornoch such a pleasing place to play golf. It’s wild, isolated and, at the same time, absolutely beautiful; there’s the blaze of colour in early summer when the gorse is in flower. The pure white sandy beach divides the links from the Dornoch Firth and it all feels very humbling. Formed in 1877, Royal Dornoch has exceptional standards and always aim to exceed the expectations the frequent visitors and loyal members. However, it is all done in a relaxed, informal environment, with an emphasis on traditional highland hospitality. Once again, feel free to drop into the club house to unwind before being driven back to the Kingsmills Hotel. Some refreshments will be served on the drive back, but make sure to leave room for the Whisky Tasting session planned for the early Saturday evening. About B&BGT Whisky Tasting You host will introduce a range of whiskies, explain a little about the process, history and the characteristics of each one. Your party can then enjoy sampling a number of the whiskies under the guidance of your host. The tasting session will take a little over 1 hour, leaving you plenty of time to make the most of a Saturday night in Inverness or to stay in the hotel and relax.

DAY 3:-

After a final breakfast, the transport will take you the short journey to Castle Stuart. Your tee time is 10:20am. About Castle Stuart History and diversity make Scottish golf courses famous throughout the world. As Turnberry is to Ayrshire and Gleneagles is to Perthshire, Castle Stuart has been conceived to be for the Highlands – a beacon reaching out to golfers throughout the world. The centrepiece for this Scottish destination golf resort is Castle Stuart Golf Links, a championship links course which has hosted the European Tour Scottish Open on four occasions (20112013, 2016) since its inception in 2009. US superstar Phil Mickelson won the Scottish Open at Castle Stuart the week before he went onto Muirfield to win the Open Championship in 2013. Overlooking the Moray Firth and well-known landmarks that are synonymous with Inverness and the Black Isle – Kessock Bridge and Chanonry Lighthouse perhaps the most notable. Make sure to visit the uniquely styled club house inspired by an Art Deco hotel from an Agatha Christie’s Hercule Poirot adventure. Your final transfer will be waiting to take you back to the Kingsmills Hotel where your golf adventure will end, but the memories made during the trip will last a lifetime. * Accommodation includes two nights B&B, with 2 x classic twin rooms. Single room supplement not include. No meals or drinks (other than refreshments provided by B&BGT) are included.
