Summer in the past tense! Have we all become so sure that all good things will another example of trying to rush forward with our lives? I spent a simple hour last week just wandering along a field pathway, complete with a stick to bash back the nettles, and bluestained fingers from reaching for the first, far too tart, brambles. I opened my eyes and looked down at mossy patches, grasses and seed-heads; at tiny butterflies skitting about in the undergrowth; then I looked up at small, fluffy white clouds against an almost royal-blue sky; the stag-heads of elderly trees framing my view and the dull green ivy staking its claim on them. It’s important to take time out from all the rush and hurry of the business world and the needs of everyday life. Make sure you let yourself do it before this amazing summer draws to a close. Take time to think, and to see where you really are, before summer has gone and our thoughts turn all-too-quickly to winter.
