MULTI - STORY BUILDING Checkpoint Charlie 2013

Friedrichstrasse

This multi-story building is thought for an irregular lot with a pentagonal shape, located at the corner of Friedrichstrasse and Zimmerstrasse (Berlin). It is empty in the middle, indeed the central part of the building is an open court with three geometrical fountains. The structure is divided in four levels: commercial spaces are in the ground floor and mezzanine, the next four floors are occupied by offices and the last two by apartments. In the last floor there is even a bar-restaurant. Sides of the building alternate stone and glass following an irregular module of 50 cm; in the main side the glass cover lights up the livingroom of the main flat. The central glass partition is the most relevant component of the whole building, giving natural light to office's balconies and at the same time protection. The variety of materials has the aim to show the difference between interior spaces and emphasizes their function.

JENGA PARK

Module as a game 2014 This ludic path is based on Jenga and the aim is to reproduce different outdoor games with modular marine plywood furniture, from a module of 40 cm. Colours used are different, inspired on nature and seasons (green, red, light brown); there are also some lights made by polyethylene and leds, which illuminate the path when sun goes down. The complex is a mix of: - 'mirrors forest' - 'military route' - seats/bench - labyrinth

RENOVATION AND ENERGY REHABILITATION OF A HOUSE Bachelor’s thesis 2014

My thesis topic is perfectly in line with my interests: sustainability and organization of interior spaces. I focused on sustainable development, specifically environmental and energetical ones, studying its laws and approaches; after that I proceeded with the practical intervention.

GARRET FLOOR

Made a project take into account the intention of the guest were a great experience, moreover it was the first time I acted on a existent building, taking into consideration all the structural limitations and norms I had to rispect. I started with the metric relief, trying to understand which could be the best solution to reorganize the interiors, mixing my ideas with requirement of the family who lived there. SOUTH ELEVATION

For the outside I planned the levelling of the site building with some retaining stone walls and the external insulation of the house. I proposed ventilated facades and the ventilation of the roof too; the materials which I chose are sustainable, cork for instance. The insulation was also strengthened by replacing the old windows with new technological ones, to reduce thermal bridges and to improve natural lighting. Concerning the interiors: there were a more insulation of the foundations and the redesigning of the whole house, making it more available and comfortable.

INTERNSHIP

Franceschinis e Da Rio associates 2014 The xperience at Franceschinis and Da Rio associates had a great importance in my formation, it was my first time into a competent architectural structure. During the 150 stage hours I: - focused on interior design, in particular bathrooms and kitchens - explored and applied creative design principles to interior spaces - generated design solutions based on design briefs - produced technical drawings from design concepts - performed architectural survey before the renovation - articulated, presented and debated ideas - did metric relieves to renovate private houses Moreover, I selected even the necessary materials and the furniture. The floors and walls of the bathroom were made of Carrara's white marble. Selected design products are by Makro, Axor, Flaminia and Tubes. Regarding the kitchen, most of the objects are Franke ones, Siemens dishwasher and MCZ fireplace. Walls are made of Carrara's white marble, while the floor is in brushed oak and painted naturalised.

THE LIBRARY

Ronchetto sul Naviglio 2015 This is a West area from the inner city of Milan with green open spaces. The buildings have been designed taking the inspiration from the historical architecture of Milan, from architects as Franco Albini and Ignazio Gardella. The masterplan was projected starting from two main axes in the directions east-west and north-south. This social housing project is composed by various buildings and a pubblic library, located in the middle of the designed square. In the central and south a green space is concentrated, there is a huge park with a walking-bike path and pubblic open gardens for the inhabitants. Buildings were mostly projected as courts or made in line, they have from five to seven floors, ground floors and first ones are commercial, whereas the remaining are residentials and have balconies which connect entrances into differnt flats, as the traditional Milan houses with also curtain walls and bow windows. Flats should be around 50, 100 or 150 mq and some furniture proposals are studied and shown in the project for different solutions. The library is a small place but it is well-equipped with: check-in front door, consulting and studying area, computer room, rec center, relaxing area, bar, office and auditorium. Its location is strategically designed, because it mediates between the urban place and the green one. All the buildings are made of bricks and glass and there is also plaster which is used for the library too.

MASTERPLAN

Close to the Naviglio, in Milan, there is a triangular lot which needs to be completed. With this in mind, it begins the idea of realize a contemporary art museum, focused on DADA movement. The building is thought to be impressive, a geometrical shape full of overhang all made by concrete. The outdoor is also redesigned as a pedestrian path with more green than before. The underground part of the square is used for the outside sitting of the bar, instead the entrance to the museum is in the opposite side of the building, where the street is. Under the bar there are all the technical rooms and an auditorium, exposition floors are staggered and in the next one there are offices and a library, a space connected with the balcony that is also used for vernissages. The interior spaces are minimal and totally white, appropriates to the topic of the exposition: interpretation of Dada on war and violence episodes. All the art exposition is also well organized after a deepening , with more or less 40 works of mondial dada and neodada artists.

SOCIAL HOUSING COMPLEX Rogoredo - Milan 2016

The following project is the most complete I have ever done. Focused on social housing, the masterplan develops in an ex railway station in Rogoredo (Milan) and it is planned with the 50% of green public space. There are two different categories of buildings: most of these are placed in line, while the others in front of the street are townhouses. Studies are detailed for the northest-estern building, from the estimated statement to the structural calculations, which is actually a four apartments complex of 7-8 floors each. Parking is in the basement, while the ground floor is commercial; the remaining floors are residential and connected by stairs, elevators and balconies. Flats are subdivided into studio, two-bedroom, three or four room apartments.

VENUS

Yacht design 2017 Getting to know the yacht design has been a great experience for improving my professional skills. Doing this project, I realised how hard is mixing all the needed fornitures in such a small space. The stage project is divided in two phases. First, it is focused on refitting with the aim of updating the 70s Tiger yacht of Caliari design, reorganising it as an open space. Second, it begins the project of a new, modern and bigger yacht, called Venus. Both phases are completely designed by Autocad with a remarkable accomplishment, a 3D printing is made by Rhinoceros. I have also designed an object linked to the Venus Yacht, from its shape and expecially the curve of the foredeck, I created a wood bottle holder inspired by Emilio Pucci’s clotes fantasy (as the interiors of the yachts).

MY POINT OF VIEW To end this quick pitch of myself I would like to show some of my shots, photographs that I have taken during travels, exhibitions or in everyday moments. The first of the following three pages is a photograph project called ‘IL VUOTO URBANO’, which aims to describe the loneliness and alienation that everyone can feel in a big city, a story obviously narrated in black and white. The last two pages are dedicated to colorful shots of elevations and interiors.
