ARCHITECTURE PORTFOLIO 2017 ELETTRA SPICCIO

CURRICULUM VITAE

ABOUT Elettra Spiccio Italian architect 1992|05|25 Genova, IT

My passion for architecture and interior design started some years ago and it continues growing, experience after experience. I am a traveller and I am always looking for new adventures. I have a constant need of doing things, I am a solar person and I always hum different songs. I truly think that every problem is a challenge to improve ourselves and to seek creative solutions to the monotony of life.

None of the projects presented in this version of my portfolio has been developed at the architecture offices I have worked for.

PIRANESI PRIX DE ROME | Thermal pavilion around the ruins of Villa Adriana | Competition "Piranesi Prix de Rome" | Partner: 8 people group | Location: Villa Adriana, IT | 2017

9

Villa Adriana is one of the most incredible archeological sites of the world. The task of the project is to create a new building, a thermal pavilion, which is able to deal with the ruins in a proper and respectful way, and to recreate that "architecture of water" which is the main feature of the Villa itself. The building has a horizontal development, and it is made of a succession of vaults, in order to recreate the atmosphere of the "cryptoporches" of the Villa.

CALL A-ROUND | The new conference hall in the city center of Pisa: "Piazza dei Miracoli" | Private work for "PISA CALL" competition | Partner: Silvia Barletta | Location: Pisa, IT | 2017

13

In the project Call a-Round the compositional process integrates all the medieval buildings of Piazza dei Miracoli of Pisa. The new conference hall takes place in a circular plan building, like the Baptistry of San Giovanni. The main part of the building is the central courtyard, designed to accommodate the monument to the "Lupa Capitolina". The main access to the court is arranged at the connecting axes with the cathedral and the tower of Pisa.

ZUHAUSE | The new building of the faculty of Architecture for the Technische Universität Dresden | Final thesis | Supervisor: Christiano Lepratti | Partner: Samantha Gazzolo | Location: Dresden, DE | 2017

17

The new Faculty of Architecture for the University of Dresden is designed as place of interaction and community, in which the user can identify itself, at the work place, in the architectural implementation of the concept of "home": the archetype, the basic shape of architecure, which is extruded to the required length of the building. Full and empty spaces are enclosed by a protective casing, which is both physical and conceptual.

IN_ART | The new primary art school with teachers accomodations in a small village in Kenya | University project | Supervisor: Jรถrg Joppien | Location: Ukunda, EAK | 2016

21

The new primary art school in the small town of Ukunda requires different spaces for the school and living rooms for teachers and students. In the IN ART project the building overlooks the interior courtyard, suitable both for lessons and leisure time. The structure is made with local materials: all walls are made of coral stone bricks, and the openings provide the use of ventilation tiles, which keep the sunlight and the heat outside.

GREY TO GREEN | The reavaluation of the ex silos building on the harbour of Genova | Genova, IT | University project | Supervisor: Carmen Andriani | Partners: S. Barletta, S. Gazzolo | Location: Genova, IT | 2015

25

The 1890s system Hennebique redesigned in a new, modern, sustainable view. Grey to green transforms the silos building of Genova both in the museum of itself, showing the silos shaped by the light; and in a workshop building, where locals and tourist can make experience of the structure, walk between the concrete of the silos in the new path made of wood and glass, designed as an urban forest which faces the harbour, and an urban vegetable garden.
