Entangling Plan 糾纏計畫 二年級建築設計 / 形構 2nd Year Architectural Design / Articulation

當一些完整的平面出現切口,再輕輕地將切口掀起成為手,往 接鄰的平面伸去、相接,就出現了虛實交錯的編織、流動與糾 纏不清。 基本單元為矩形面,上有三種不同切口對著垂直平面的方向掀 開,接著基本單元分別相對於X軸和Y軸鏡射,產生數個相似的 孿生平面,錯位後互相以手卡接,而孿生平面與原生平面的手 相接後,與手相接的平面則消失,依此規則往Z軸發展。 A complete rectangle was split and flipped to create hands, which were used to connect different rectangles. The complex of hands and rectangular plans showed the entangling weaving of flows. A rectangle with three splits flipped to different directions served as the basic unit. Then, the basic unit was mirrored in either X or Y axis to create twin units. Those units were offset and connected via hands. The connected plan on the hand was elemated. With this articulating principle, the complex evolved in z axis. 5


Sky Stream 天空之河 二年級建築設計 / 空間 2nd Year Architectural Design / Space

人開始介入形構產生的空間,讓形構變為可以體驗的建築。 以建築的尺度與理解方式閱讀形構空間,除了原本就有的編織、 流動與糾纏不清以外,還有垂直向的光從幽遠天空溢下,旁邊則 是近身的光滲過夾縫。室內與室外仍曖昧不明,樓板尚未初始。 水平樓板用附著於牆面的方式置入,延續原本層與層穿梭的特性 ,線性空間被擠或被拉,合併或分岔,擴張或內縮,暗示出動線 與非動線的序列。樓板並沒有完全將上下層空間分隔,留下來的 挑空讓光線、聲音等室內氛圍能夠垂直向的擴散 桁架與沖孔版兩種異質的材料呈現出不同的視覺開放性,並且透 過門窗置入的策略定義出內外交錯的室內與戶外空間。 The space generated from articulation went through adaptation in order to be habitable. The first step was to read the space in architecturally. Besides entangling weaving of flows, light stream from the very top of the complex or form the gap nearby. Interior and exterior space was not defined. Floors didn’t exist. Floors attached the walls, retaining the weaving flow. Linear spaces were either pushed or pulled, merged or divided, expanded or narrowed, implying the order of circulation and non-circulation areas. Vertical continuity was not completely separated as atriums allows lights and sounds spread vertically to form a sub-interaction between floors. Trusses and perforated plates devised degrees of visible transparency. Inside-out interior and exterior were arranged via strategic installation of windows and doors. PENETRATION

有時候,小孩子在草地上追著風,爺爺奶奶在樹蔭下跟厝邊隔壁聊天。 有時候,下班下課的人們在社區教室裡面畫素描,彈著烏克莉莉。 有時候,廣場上會排得滿滿的圓桌,笑聲此起彼落好不熱鬧。 有時候,人們需要一個地方,讓煩惱的心能夠呼吸,能夠走走。 有時候 .... Sometimes, kids have fun with each other on the grass and their grandparent chat to neighbors. Sometimes, students and office workers practice sketch or Ukulele in the lifelong learning classroom. Sometimes, the lovely square is filled with resident’cheering and laughing. Sometimes, residents need a place to take a deep breath when depressed. Sometimes, …. 7

大學對於基地與周遭的居民而言,不管在占用的空間尺度或使用 特性都是異質的存在,其所產生的生活作息與消費需求支配著周 遭環境,形成不對等的依存關係。居民們活在自己的小小世界, 一戶一戶各自形成游離的居住單元,看起來很近,實際的距離卻 很遠。這個地方需要居民們的自我認同,需要厝邊隔壁互相聯繫 的機會,需要一個以社區為中心的活動網絡,需要有更多的居民 自發性與持續性的互動行為在這個地方發生。 基地直接正對著是由雲平行政大樓–雲平大道–光復校區大門三 者形成的中軸,隔著大學路成為延續端點,基地本身迫切的需要 用另一種姿態回應本身為中軸延續的異質身分與作為社區中心的 未來想像。 空間在基地上繼續發展,由內而外向,兩側延伸出兩個較小的建 築體,形成大禮堂/咖啡館、辦公室/終身學習教室、圖書館的序 列,由藝廊與涼廊串聯起來。流動的空間特性被延續下來,形成 實體的建築帶與虛體的綠地廣場。 No matter the use or the space occupied, the university is a heterogeneous existence. It’s lifestyle and commercial consumption dominate the surroundings, resulting in an inequivalent relationship. The local residents lead their own dissociated life. They live close to each other geographically but, in fact, there is few interactions in residents. Hence, a community based self-identification is desperately needed. More opportunities should be provided for residents to form their own networks, which consists of a variety of spontaneous and continuous interaction. The site serves as the end of the axis of Yung-Ping Administration Building – Yung-Ping Avenue – main gate. It is important for the site to respond to its character of the end of the axis and to imagine the future of local community. The space, with entangling weaving flows, evolves on the site, creating two smaller wings. Therefore, a sequence of a hall/ café, an office/ lifelong learning classrooms, and a library was ordered and connected with a gallery and a loggia. Some verdant parks emerge. 2F PLAN

MASS PATH MARK RIVER RAILWAY

透過一棟住宅,我想思考兩個家庭共同生活的狀態,與建築如何 回應都市地景。 基地位於高雄市三民區的熱河一街,屬於高醫-後驛生活帶。基地 附近的紋理被規劃為整齊劃一的棋盤狀街道系統,附近的地標除 了高醫、火車站與博愛、民族、九如等主要幹道上零星的高層辦 公大樓,方圓數公里內皆覆蓋了五層樓以下的透天街屋,形成單 調的都市地景。 Via the design of a house, I want to reflect on how two different families live together and how a small single living unit respond with the urban context of Kaohsiung City. The site on Rehe St. is located on Kaohsiung Main Station- Kaohsiung Medical University living zone of a grid-pattern urban fabric. Besides few high raises dotting on the main road such as Poai Rd., Minzu Rd., and Jiuru Rd., row houses lower than five story dominate the skyline, forming a monotonous cityscape. 10


MARKET SITE BACK

基地原本為一間三層樓的透天厝街屋,前方的熱河街在晚上作為 夜市使用,而後側則為清晨開始營業的傳統市場,原本建築的一 樓預留走道作為傳統市場的側門之一。以時間軸檢視,基地周圍 不斷上演著豐富的生活場景,早晨市場機車亂竄的引擎聲夾雜著 叫賣與喊價,到了午餐時段街頭則湧出覓食的人群,天空的黑幕 降臨後夜市裡的人潮制衡了整個場域。然而我在思考,乘載著如 此高密度高生命力的載體,除了既有單調的透天街屋之外,有沒 有其他的可能性來回應基地周遭豐富的生活場景。 A three-story row-house unit was originally situated on the site, with Rehe St. in the front and a market in the back. On the first floor is a gloomy passage serving as the side entrance, connecting the street and market. In the morning, a mix of fresh-seekers’ bargaining and scooters’ vrooming starts the day of the market. Office workers jam the street for lunch at noon before hundreds of visitors lead the day to its peak at the very night market. Faced with such vigorous life scenes, I am thinking, except the original row houses, a possibility to hold its lively surroundings and its being as an interface of the street and the market. 11

基地既有透天街屋的牆與樓板被拆除,只剩下原本的柱樑系統, 而新的共生住宅則以板構成組成,舊有的柱樑與新的板構成之間 夾了15度角,以對比出彼此的自明性。符合動線與機能需求外,室 內外虛空間的連接與騎樓退縮錯位挑空,讓都市生活氣氛延伸至 空間深處。

The wall and the floor are removed and only beams and columns are left. A new co-housing construction is attached to the original beam-column structure with 15° angle. The minimized mass and atrium above the store front create a crack, above the passage, for light and an accommodation of life scene.

一樓做為年邁夫婦小吃店鋪,吧檯式的開放廚房可以與市場走道 產生最大的互動,獨立的樓梯可以上到二樓的座位區,住宅的入 口直通梯則拉至基地最後側。二樓獨立琴房有整面落地玻璃,使 一樓走道的人可以看見上方優雅的琴房。樓梯到了三樓就正式地 進入住宅中作為餐廳/廚房的挑空,而這個大空間連接了年邁夫婦 的臥室、內部樓梯與四樓的書房窗口。四樓的挑空書房水平連接 了核心家庭的主臥室、餐廳/廚房的挑空,垂直則連接到五樓兩間 小孩房與樓梯間的緩衝空間。 A nuclear family that need a piano room has to live with an elderly couple running an restaurant. They both need their own bedroom and restroom.

假設一個核心家庭,某種因素下必須與另一對年老夫婦共同居住 在同一塊基地上。核心家庭的夫婦從事設計相關產業,有兩位學 齡間的小孩,特殊需求為一間獨立的琴房;年老的夫婦經營一間 小吃店,需要內用的座位區。兩個家庭需要各自獨立的衛浴與臥 房。

The restaurant is placed on the first floor with a kitchen opened to the passage. A separated stair leads costumers to another dining area on the second floor. Two families’ private outdoor-stairs entrance of the house is set on the back of the site. Visual interaction of second-floor isolated piano room and the first-floor passage is gauranteed by using glass walls. The atrium on third floor connects the dining room to the bedroom of the elderly couple, the indoor stairs and the study while the atrium on the fourth floor connects the study to the bed rooms of nuclear family and the dining room. 12

The Blue Hour 一個藍色的時刻 二年級建築設計 / 社區中心 基地位置 / 台南市中山攤販市場 2nd Year Architectural Design / Community Center Site / Zhongshan Market, Tainan City 下班的爸爸媽媽到社區中心,與托兒所下課的孩子們和剛剛 跟同伴捏玩陶土的爺爺奶奶會面,慢慢的走在廊道上,街燈 亮起,在一個藍色的時刻。 Parents off duty meet their kids and elders at the community center. They walked leisurely on the alley as the street lights turned on in the blue hours.xis.

整個台南市的都市涵構能夠以都市尺度與巷弄尺度解讀,而 這兩個層級之間,我們被廣告招牌、鐵窗、空調外掛等等物 件的印象迷惑了。都市尺度的道路–街廓系統源於日治時期 以巴黎為參考規劃設計,將台南市區劃分為放射狀與棋盤狀 並行的整齊地景,另一方面,長期累積的人文歷史也同時形 成了近身尺度有機、曲折的巷弄型態,而基地原有的中山攤 販市場平面組織剛好介於兩者之間,看似直角正交的方盒子 卻已某種隨機的陣列存續了逾半世紀。 The urban context of Tainan city is composed of two layers of fabric, of which are separated by add-ons such as signboards, window railings, and air conditioner host. The larger-scale fabric is the mixture of radial and grid patterns of city streets, leading to a superficially well-organized cityscape. However, the history of the city leads to a small-scale fabric comprising countless complicated winding alleys and paths. The randomness of the right-angled plan of the closed-down market have corresponded with both fabrics since half a century ago.

基地內除了原本的中山攤販市場,還有東西兩側的空地形成主要 與次要場域的差異,通行其間必須爬樓梯經過市場二樓的通道, 行為的姿態就像是一條立體化抬升的小巷穿越其中,而這個空間 經驗被保留下來暗示原本市場的存在;方體與圓柱兩個最簡單的 幾何形延續了原本市場的平面組織;白色擴張網/落地玻璃的半 透明組合作為事件的背景與內外互動的介面。 The closed-down market dominates two disused wings on the east and west of the site. Only a passage passing through the second floor of the market connect the wings. The unique experience of walking on the elevated alley is preserved to imply the market. Two simplest shapes- cuboids and cylinders are used to suggest the original space construction. The translucent combination of white expanded steel and glass walls serves as the interface of indoor and outdoor activities.

由基地東側與南側的小徑可以步行進入基地,公共性較高的社區 辦公室、咖啡座在此迎接社區居民;基地西側,寧靜的閱覽室以 古雅的磚造合院為背景;基地北側則以實牆阻隔相鄰旅社的洗滌 間與回收場等排他性的服務設施;空中廊道可以連接二樓的視聽 室與露天階梯,在階梯上人們可以由內而外的望見由細線再現的 市場地面與不遠處開隆宮屋頂燕尾形成的端景。 At the end of the east and south paths leading inside the site are the café and the office, welcoming the visiting local resident. A tranquil reading room with the background of traditional brick-constructed quadrangle house lies on the west wing of the site. The noisy laundry room and filthy recycling center of the nearby hotel was blocked by a wall on the north edge of the site. The elevated passage not only connects the east and west wings of the site but also the auditorium and open air seat, where the warped roof of Kai-Long Temple cuts the skyline. 19

透過社座社區中心,我想像著當隔代教養已成必然的時候,是否 有個地方能夠成為不願出門的老人、需要受照顧的孩子、上班時 擔心家裡的忙碌夫妻三者間的解決方案,也思考著如何喚醒人們 對於城市中重要場域曾經存在的集體記憶。 Through the design of the community center, I tried to imagine a solution for parents busy with their job, kids with desperate need for appropriate daycare, and elders locking themselves at home in the future, when grandparent raising is someday inevitable as long as an access to remember a place that once important and irreplaceable in this city. 20

自人類出現以來就與自然產生競爭關係,而自然在不見止息的抗 衡中趨於劣勢,最終臣服,人類建造都市以排除自然的,基地位 於台南市中心的德慶溪更是無可避免地各被南北兩側成功大學與 台南一中形成的高強度居住商業生活複合帶壓迫,使得德慶溪最 終被置入箱涵、沉入地底,而地表上則由末日式的擋土牆劃出一 座都市中佚失記憶的細長峽谷。 Human has not stopped competing with nature until nature surrendered. Soon, human created their own city to separate themselves from fluctuating wilderness. The site on Dechin Stream, which is on the downtown of Tainan City, is inevitably oppressed by dynamic living zones of National Cheng Kung University and National Tainan First Senior High School. Dechin Stream is eventually placed in culverts and buried underground. On the surface is a hopeless retaining wall lacerating through the site, forming a valley where memory outflow and disappear. 基地兩側相鄰街廓實量體中人的活動行為被量化並以高程為依據 疊圖分析後,在基地上集中為兩個今日事件的場源,事件場的力 量對制衡基地的擋土牆解構,形成牆-次牆的破碎行為,並逐漸 引導出兩個事件場中極值互相抵銷的地方,成為基地中三個空間 最單純的放空節點,以容納更多非定義的都市靈修活動。 Quantified people’s activities in the neighboring blocks are overlay-analyzed, resulting in two force fields deconstructing the original retaining wall. New walls and the original retaining wall conduct the force fields to counterweigh each other at three nodes where least interference is placed in order to accommodate most uncertain urban spiritual programs. 22

靈修會所的食堂/集會所置於基地西側,靈修教室、澡堂與住宿 單元則線性散落於重新浮出地面的德慶溪旁,不同角度的斜牆與 水流引導靈修者藉由步行體會歷史上人水糾纏的過程,也同時圍 塑出大小各異的開放/半開放中介,此時光線經過樹枝的過濾與 水的反射,在牆上搖曳出靈修活動的背景。西東側兩隻樓梯連接 阻隔已久的南北兩側,在基地上串聯不同高程的活動。

The hall and cafeteria is to the west of the site while the classrooms, bathhouse, and living clusters dot linearly along uncovered Dechin Stream. Walls and the stream tell the entangling history between human and nature to visitors as well as shaping outdoor/semi-outdoor intermediary spaces. Reflection of glowing water shines on walls, serving as the background of spiritual meditations. Two stairs connect the south and north edges of the site, bridging the activities of different height. 23

面對一塊基地時,總是會有延續紋理或創造紋理的選擇,然而透 過對周遭環境的分析方法,靈修會所的設計介於兩者之間的狀態 ,也就是當人類活動的事件場與德慶溪的水勢繼續寫下歷史的時 刻。 Continuity or isolation of the urban context is always a choice of a design. However, via the analysis method and design process, spiritual center create a new possibility – the moment that human-activity force field along with Dechin Stream write another page of history. 2F

這是一個藉由社區鄰里中心的介入反省大型建築事件對於既有 都市紋理的衝擊,並試圖以都市尺度重新建立當地居民、美術 館與訪客之間關係的設計。 This is a design of previewing the social impact of a large upcoming development project and of attempting to build a new, positive relationship between local residents, an art museum and visitors.

基地位於原先作為公園使用的大型街廓西南角,作為都市尺度開 放空間與地方社區的中介,然而幾年之後公園將被取代為美術館 ,對於基地與周遭的居民而言,不管空間尺度或使用特性都是異 質的存在,其空降般的閉鎖式白盒子展覽場所不僅終止了原有居 民在開放空間的生活模式,更進一步的壓迫到原有社區居民之間 的互動機會,居民們活在自己的小小世界,一戶一戶各自形成游 離的居住單元,最終地方認同瓦解。 作為東側孔廟 – 國中小 – 地方法院 – 美術館的大型公共空間集合 的邊緣與西側社區的延伸,社區鄰里中心迫的需要用另一種姿態 回應本身作為大型開放空間與住宅聚落兩種都市行為的中介並重 新建構支離破碎的地方情感。 The site locating at the southwest corner of a park serves as the connection of urban public space and the local community. However, in a few years, Tainan Art Museum will replace the park. The large-scale segregated galleries will be a heterogeneous occurrence in the existing urban context, ending the neighborhood relationships. At last, the local residents lead their own dissociated life. The community based self-identity collapses.

As the edge of a large-scale-public-space series of Confucian Temple, district court, schools, Tainan Art Museum and the extension of the local community, it is important for the neighborhood center to respond to its character of being the in-between of the public open space and residential district so as to rebuild the fragmented local identity. 市集/蚊子電影院/停車場、服務台/聚會所、社區教室、托兒所 、讀書中心/青年旅館等實體空間的型態延續美術館各個展覽室 之間非正交組成方式,圍塑出各種尺度與氣氛的虛體空間,提供 居民與美術館訪客的非正式互動場所,落地玻璃、連續旋轉門與 大尺度半戶外屋簷出挑取代封閉牆體,降低不同事件活動之間的 隔閡,室內外交互延伸的鋪面與美術館整體規劃,引導美術館二 樓訪客進入鄰里中心。 Space of regular program such as holiday market/open-air cinema/parking lot, information center/hall, lifelong-learning classroom, daycare center, reading center/hostel continues the non-orthogonal structural pattern of the art museum, shaping a variety of outdoor spaces for casual activities. Concrete walls are substituted with glass wall and cantilevered roof in order to eliminate the separation of different spaces. Paves are planned as a whole with art museum, leading the visitors of the art museum to the neighborhood center. 27

鄰里中心不僅成為收納並誘發公共性常民事件以恢復居民互動與 社區認同的場所,重新建立的都市步行空間再度串聯了基地東側 的美術館與西側的社區,使得鄰里中心成為美術館的延伸空間, 並以大量開放空間與其內豐富多元的社區事件迎接訪客,藉此重 新定義當代藝術存在的姿態,思考一個以地方社區的生活場景與 訪客居民的密切互動為藝術主體的可能性。 The neighborhood center not only become a place to accommodate local-community activities and to recover the local identity but also extend the urban pedestrian path from the art museum to the neighborhood center, welcoming the visitors with its vigorous activities. Thus, the meaning of contemporary art would be redefined as both the life scene of community and the interaction between local residents and visitors are transformed into the very main subject of art. 28

SITE

到底建築的型態與使用方式要如何回應都市真實環境,並且反映 社會結構變化與數位資訊時代,是這個設計試圖理解的議題。 做為古台南城市的幾何中心,基地至今仍持續保有強烈的商業向 心性,而棋盤狀與網格狀兩者都市道路系統在此交會造成基地北 側中山路與民族路兩條主要幹道的非正交夾角,並且與後側高層 集合住宅互相包夾下壓縮出巨大力場,使得典型都市量體計畫所 產生的形態出現變異,接近地面的實體空間被壓縮力場侵蝕而留 下漂浮於雲端的都市空間異質經驗。 How form and program of architecture respond with urban context, evolving society, and upcoming digital era are the issues of this design. The site is located in the central business district of Tainan City, where the radial and grid patterns of city streets conflict, resulting in a hardly-compressed force field. Hence, the mass, typically generated with the restriction of building coverage ratio and building bulk control, is morphed. As a result, the lower part of the mass is eroded, leaving a heterogeneous urban experience of “floating in the air”. 30

由基地邊界三支巨大柱撐至頂端桁架結構設備層,向上附加大型 會議空間並向下垂以六公尺為模矩的鋼索陣列,最終樓板固定其 上形成懸吊式巨型結構系統。經過圓角處理的平面構成在立面上 延續了中山民族路口車流與人流的速度感,並且在室內空間深化 人們工作狀態因為使用數位資訊媒介而更加流動的現象。

WORKING STATE

在辦公空間之內,利用十公分直徑張力鋼索、落地玻璃隔間與高 度皆不超過辦公桌面的收納矮櫃,創造最大程度的水平通透;兩 處分別作為閱覽區/輕植栽花園與飲食角落的大挑空與跨三層樓 高的大階梯/非正式討論區使得辦公氣氛互相滲透至空間深處。 The office building utilize a suspension structural system of which three mega columns support the truss structure with convention center attached on and plates suspended below fixed with steel cables in six-meter-module array. Rounded, sculptural curves of the building enhance the sense of speed and flow of both the busy traffic on the intersection and the digital-era working condition. In the office, 10-cm-diameter steel cables, glass partition walls and non-higher-than-desk shelf units create utmost horizontal transparency; the large atrium of reading area/garden, the small atrium of a dinning corner and the three-story-high grand stair/informal chatting seat conduct various working atmospheres all around the office. 31

做為一個數位產業辦公大樓,雲端交會所試圖將辦公行為重新定 義為高速變化的知識流體,使得建築空間不得不產生更多非正式 、跨行號的互動機會;未來上班族或許不再消耗所有工作時數在 單調重複的紙本作業,數位移動裝置普及化之後,固定的辦公狀 態不斷解構重組,此時辦公室的腳色將轉化為容納各種創造性聚 會討論的知識網絡交會場。 As a digital-content-industrial office building, the design of On The Cloud redefines office working as a flowing fluid of knowledge and information. More and more informal and cross-institutional intercommunication opportunities are desperately needed. In the future, office workers may not spend all the day on odd, repetitive paper work as a result of popularized digital mobile devices and ever-reorganizing social network. Office space would become an open place to accommodate innovative interactions of knowledge and information. 32

The Critical Point 臨界 構宅青年-青年社會住宅競圖案 Social Housing for Youths Design Competition * 入選 * SELECTED 青年正處於必須轉換身分以應對社會嚴峻的考驗,他們面對著 求職、創業等生存挑戰,也同時得維繫與同儕間的交流互動, 此時青年們的生活與心境皆處於浮動不安、相互牽引的游離狀 態,需要新型態的社會住宅以因應青年關係的多重可能,在有 限的小空間中結合工作與居家並容納多人同時活動,創造由使 用者定義的可變式開放平面空間。 本設計試圖打破對於既有青年慘澹生活的刻板想像,置入軟質 水平薄膜取代傳統硬隔間系統,房間內不再被區分為數個固定 不變而互不相干的使用模式,軟質薄膜成為青年們發生互動的 活性界面,上下兩個活動領域之間透過隱微的光線變化、人聲 絮語,甚至人體重量碰觸薄膜時壓出的流動起伏,使得社會住 宅的空間開始獲得本質性的轉化,原本沉悶躁動的青年日常獲 得解放,抵達臨界,人們進入一個共同、動態互動關係。 Facing the treacherous challenge of the society, youths are in the turning point of converting their selves into fresh graduates. Not only do they have to conquer pressure of job-seeking or enterprise-creating but also they expand interpersonal communication. Youths are psychologically insecure and floating, resulting in an unstable, ionized state. In order to coordinate working with living as well as to accommodate diverse multi-person interaction in limited space, a new genre of social housing without unnecessary partition is desperately needed. The out-of-date partition walls are replaced with stretchy web of netting, creating a shifting landscape where youths moves around. Via subtle variation of light, intimate whisper and the curves of distorted net, the space inside the social housing unit is thoroughly lead to the critical point of dynamic synergy.
