MESSAGE FROM THE POTENTATE Illustrious Sir, Gerry Massey
As
2014 began, I thought of how the year would be divided in 3 sections of 4 month intervals. The first section is in the history books. Now it is time to evaluate what worked and what can be improved upon. I am really excited how well the pistachio sales are going. By the time you read this, we will have sold over 2,000 bags just within the first 2 months! Remember, this project will continue through the end of the year! Great job, Nobles and Ladies! We have modified the 365 Pay It Forward Program to include Life Members now as well. Check with your Divan members should you have any questions on this. There are a few other projects we are improving as well. You should see those improvements upon our return at the end of summer. El Zaribah has had many visitors from all over the country in the past few months. Every time I have spoken with them, I have heard what great hosts you all are. Each of them was welcomed with a smile and open arms. Many of them want to come back and affiliate with us. That is what it is all about! Please consider coming with Lady Janet and me on one of our weekend get-a-ways. We will be going to the Bisbee, Tombstone area over the Memorial Day weekend and we will spend the Labor Day weekend at the Grand Canyon. If you are interested, please give us a call for the details. There will be tours, shopping and plenty of fun! Finally, I know many of you are traveling to your summer homes soon. Please travel safely. While we at El Zaribah may only be your part time family during the winter months, we love you full time, year around. We look forward to seeing you again in the autumn. For those staying in the Valley, you know the Shrine never really goes “dark”, we may “dim” the lights for the summer, but there is always something going on at El Zaribah. Murder Mystery 2014 We’ve had a lot of feedback that the Murder Mystery last year was fun for both participants as well as the audience so we will be putting on another one this year. It will be on Oct 10, 2014 and the fundraising will benefit the General Fund this time. So save the date and let me know if you would like to participate. Gerry 3
